Mister President Bush,
George, if I may;

I am a Native and Lifelong Resident of the Great State of Florida, Blessed to be a Citizen of the Great Nation of the United States of America, and Veteran of Service in Vietnam (Long Binh, RVN, 1970-71). My birthday is September eleventh. My wife died in April, 2007, and I celebrated Independence Day alone, this year.

I am writing about some very serious concerns I have . . . those being our steady march away from the Social, Moral, and Political Traditions which made this Country such a Great Nation. Sometimes, when I focus on the state of our Country, today, I wish my name was on “The Wall,” so I wouldn't have to witness it.

I have no doubt that the Founding Fathers would be incensed if they could speak from their present places. Not even Benedict Arnold would approve of what we have become over the past thirty years! John F. Kennedy would surely feel betrayed, as would Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., as well. You saw your Dad's face fall in the treacherous climate of politics, and you, yourself, have been the target of many unreasoned and unpatriotic barbs and arrows.

I believe the Holy Bible (as originally written) is the inerrant Word of God. As much as it depends upon me, I will be at peace with all. I know that many who say they are Christian do not care for or obey the teachings of Jesus.

I believe the Constitution of the United States, including the first ten amendments (as originally written) and subsequent amendments passed by prescribed process, are the only legitimate law of this Nation UNDER GOD; that the tenets of our Constitution can be plainly understood by The Common Folk, as well as the erudite; and that those who would change those plain meanings by any craft or crook are Traitors to us all.

You, Sir; I believe you are as honest as any politician can be in a system where there is so much “Spiritual Wickedness in High Places.” And, I have a lot of respect and admiration for you.

My Civics Classes, in 1969, taught me that “Checks and Balances” are built into the structure of our Government, through the balance between the Executive Branch, the Legislative Branch, and the Judicial Branch. But now, all but a tiny minority of our “representatives” in Congress are embenched and entrenched in the Legal Profession. This means that the Legislative Branch has been summarily co-opted by the Judicial Branch. The Executive Branch is at a two-thirds disadvantage in almost all matters of Policy and Law.

Through the relativistic viewpoints of Liberal and Judicial Activism, Concrete Values have been ruled obsolete. God is “Ruled Out” by the Courts, Prayer and reference to the Bible is “Ruled out” by the Courts, and Free speech is “Ruled Out” by the “Politically Correct” lobby, if it “offends” even one antagonist against Traditions. “Hate Crimes” Legislation is applicable only to Traditionalists and Reactionaries, while the antagonists against Traditions are immune.

Laws against Business Monopolies, Financial Usury, Fiduciary Responsibility, Vice, etc., have fallen by the wayside as the Economy has been Financialized, Manufacturers have moved production facilities offshore, and States have instituted Lotteries (the most deceitful tax method ever devised).

Prosecutors once had the Duty [sic: 95 So2d 525] to Discover evidence that was Favorable to an Accused, as well as that which would tend toward Conviction. Now, Prosecutors actually hide any known Exculpatory and/or Mitigating Evidence, and the practice is approved of and protected by “Prosecutorial Immunity” provisions. Any Public Defender [provided as a result of Gideon v. Wainwright (Florida Department of Corrections), 372 U.S. 335 (1963)], becomes very unpopular if they protest or press that issue in any but murder cases.

Ex Post Facto Law is twice prohibited in Article I, of the Constitution, as is Double Jeopardy prohibited by the Fifth Amendment. However, in spite of such Constitutional Guarantees, a person acquitted in a Criminal proceeding can be sued and found liable in a Civil Court; a person sentenced in 1985 can be held Feloniously Liable under a Law enacted in 1997; and, Judges can set aside the Majority Vote of a Public Referendum in almost any State.

The Police, by the way, are also victims in all this, to the point they are quick to quip, “We don't make the Law, we just enforce it.” Believe me, they are well aware, and sensitive in the extreme, of the fact that such a statement equates them with the police force of a totalitarian regime of Europe, following 1930. But, if they don't obey, they lose their jobs.

Well Sir, I just felt the need to vent, and I am of the belief that these issues would matter to you, as well; but I think your eyes will be shielded from this by some well meaning(?) staffer who believes that even a "lame duck" should not address such issues, and you are usually hassled by the Tyranny of the Urgent (managed by similar staffers) to the point that these escape your notice.

God Bless You, Mister President. I will be sorry to see you leave the Office.

Once again, in the "food for thought" department, our friend Arky provides us with an all-you-can-eat buffet. Thanks, my friend. I hope things are grand in Fla.

I wanted to address the fact that our representation is heavily populated by folks trained in the dark arts of Jurisprudence.

In my experience, lawyers are trained to look for problems, argue about them, and then overcharge for their effort (successful or not). Are these the best people to lead us?

Tom Clancy advanced an interesting (albeit terrifying) scenario in his book "Executive Orders". In the book, Washington DC was the target of a terrorist attack during The State of the Union Address (by plane no less, talk about life imitating art).

In Clancy's fictional scenario, the President, his cabinet, the Joint Chiefs, and nearly every Senator and Congressman was killed in the attack.

The new (and politically naive) Vice President is immediately sworn in to lead. In his first address to the Nation, he talks about the need to fill the vacant seats in the Representative Government.

"Don't send me politicians," he pleads.

He goes on to recruit (draft?) successful businessmen and women, folks who have proven their ability to meet challenges head-on and conquer them time after time.

When some resist, he points to the wealth that they have gleaned from the best economic model in the history of Earth as a guilt tactic. It worked, and our Government became populated with DOERS as opposed to THINKERS.

Ahhhh, Utopia.

I'm not suggesting that it will take another terrorist attack for us to set things right (God Forbid), but I wonder what it will take for Americans to wake up and realize that we need to make significant changes to our Government? (and no, B. Hussein is not the answer).

Thank you Flash.  The accolade you bestow on me is almost too kind.

Since you mentioned B. Hussein, I will post a sneak peek at his True Nature.  (and, this is News!)
