WRONG....I personlly think this is really stupid. One because you have to be an idiot to get influenced by a video game. Two iv been playin shooting games since i was 12! and i never had any thoughts of wasting my teacher for giving me a C in math! Come on now you have to have issues to be influenced by a video game.

The music we listen to and the things we see effect us in one way or another. It's not such a stupid concept and you don't have to be stupid to fall victim.

I know that when Doom first came out and I played it non-stop I became addicted. I would be at a school football game and see a trash barrel, one that looks like the ones you blow up on the game, and want to shoot at it.

Every individual has erratic impulses and the influence from them can come from inside or outside. Deviants act on those impulses. People who commit violent crimes are deviants. There will always be deviants.

Cases in point: Lizzie Borden, Jesse James, Billy the Kid, Jim Jones, David Koresh. No video games there...

OMG!
People! What the hell is wrong with you. Listen, we can sit here and blame everything under the sun for why people freak out and go on killing sprees! What we must consider, is the sub-standard people that, through a complete loss of parenting skills, are now becoming adults, and have no way of coping with society. So, they do what people who can't cope have always done. THEY FREAK OUT and start killing people! Simple as that. MPH, I played Doom also, LOVED that game! I too would think of shooting things when I wasn't playing the game. I also thought about the strategy of the game, or a certain map. How to approach it differently to have a better outcome. I also LOVE playing MX Vs. ATV Unleashed!
And when I drive my car, I look at the terrain on the side of the hiway and imagine riding it too! This has nothing to do with whether you will go on a killing spree or not. It has everything to do with your desire to win the game. And, if you did not want to win, why were you playing? In closing, I will be blunt. If any of you feel that a game can influence you in society, and make you do bad things to innocent people, you are Dumber than a bucket of mud!
