What? Demoboy are you serious? I am beginning to completely loose faith in our public schools.

What are they teaching you over in Wisconsin, or should I say, NOT teaching you. And you're one of the smart kids right? yikes.

I'd better enroll my children in private school, this is frightening.

Sorry Demoboy, I don't mean to sound shocked, but this is a bit much. Even for you. I seriuosly hope that the majority of students don't share your views, for the good of our country.

Actually, I was looking to see if anyone would care to answer questions rather than
not answer them, but just spew sarcasm.


Is it showing support for the actions of our government or showing support for the principles which we think this nation has been founded on?

It has been evident on many of these blogs that some people don’t support the actions of our government.
While still believing in the principles which we think this nation was founded on.
So which one or anything different, are they are they pledging to.


I have always wondered what one should be loyal to the country they live in or a certain set of values?

Some live in this country
and believe in a deviation of Our values.


Should we even be loyal to a country?

Yes, if you live in the United States.


If the U.S. say became a dictatorship or started abolishing the constitution
is it our duty as citizens to support the country
or the values?

I personally would support the values.
There are some in this country that are
[for me] all ready starting to change [amend] the constitution.
If it goes too far from the original,
would that not be a form of abolishment?

I meant his more as a philosophical question not as a political one. We are all individuals with values and beliefs and no matter what our nation does I think we should hold to those beliefs.

I think you need to visit Kenya, Iraq, Cuba, and a few countries like that then ask these qestions. You pledge to your flag because it represents the freedoms you have and one of those is to question why. It represents the safty of the life you live from the government killing or locking you up for not agreeing with them. It is a symble of all that you have and will have and the people who fought to give it to you. So in not doing so or disrespecting it you are basicly saying you would rather have the same life as some of these other countries. I personally do not.

Should Venezuelan's be loyal to there country in spite of the Socialist Dictator, Hugo Chavez? Or would that be "crossing the line"?

This is great, fabulous,
this is what I was looking for.
I've only been reading these blogs
for a couple of weeks.
Just about all the political or news blogs are full of heat, sarcam, indifference.

I wanted to hear something good about this wonderful free land we live in.

People take for granted that,
they can
say whatever they want
and not disappear in the middle of the night.
One of our many rights,
that others do not have.

With all the complaining, I wanted people to see (as in print) that they remember,
remember what they love about this country.

To take a line from Field of Dreams;
"That's great, you're great, all right America way to go!"

you are without a doubt a total piece of crap..check that crap was good for something once ..how dare you ask a question why we should pledge allegiance to our flag the one that represents our country the one every male member of my family put his life on the line for..as well as millions of others ..what did your father do run to Canada?..you living proof why we should make exceptions in abortion cases ..spineless coward
