The Avalanche are anticipating the return of Peter Forsberg for Game 3 against
the Red Wings. “We think everything could work out with him playing tonight,” said head coach Joel Quenneville.
Forsberg, who hasn’t played in this series,
skated Monday at practice, but did not skate Tuesday morning. There is nothing
unusual about Forsberg missing the pre-game skate. Many players don’t practice
the day of a game during the playoffs.
The Avalanche also expect defensive man
Scott Hannan to play after missing Game 2 because of a lower body injury. He is
listed as probable. The Forsberg and Hannan news is tempered by the loss of
forward Ryan Smyth. He is out after injuring his foot during game 2.
