The citizens of the US should, and must be, the first priority of any elected official, illegal immigrants flood the country and burden the resources, major corporations leave the US for and cheaper labor and reduced taxes, only to expect the US and it's citizens to buy their products and ignore the unemployment hardship left by those companies. There is super cleanup programs that the taxpayer is expected to foot the bill on, while the companies that left the problem pay a small fine and a slap on the wrist, or just file bankruptcy and do business through a sub corporation, that laws prevent assumption of responsibility.
The trade deficit and copyright infringements that go before Congress and the President are decided, not to the benefit or relieving the burden on the taxpayer, US companies and their employee's but on keeping foreign countries happy. To allow chemical mining and destroying rivers and contaminating ground water is not in the best interest of the health and welfare of the people. Allowing insurance companies to force consumers to fight for claim payouts in court is not in the best interest of the people.
Foreclosure, healthcare, war, credit interest rates, fuel and gas prices, food prices, energy and social security are decided on what is best for corporations and the dollar, not for the people, but the people harbor the burden and are expected to go on with life and deal with the stress. Very few elected officials live the life of the middle class and below, or the disabled, yet we always hear from them that they understand what we are going through, and yet, bills are voted on with additions on them that benefit campaign contributors and are argued and vetoed, and the citizen must wait and suffer through the process then one party blames another for the problem and delay.
When an elected official is being sworn in, they are agreeing to protect the Constitution of the United States of America, which is the people of this country, not foreign countries or trade, or even illegal immigrants, they are sworn to preserve the laws of the US also, even to amend them to help and serve the public, this almost never happens and yet we continue to vote for a party member, continue to live in denial and believe that the "change" that is coming will be different.
We need to form county candidate action commitees that will provide checks and balances on our elected officials, to make sure that the bills they are voting on are what we, as their constituants want, and vote the way we want them to vote. To provide phone and e-mail contact to forward problems and needs to our district officials, and to voice our concerns.
Letting our representitives lead the way is not working, letting them design bills and giving them a free hand ends up hurting us in the long run. I recently read our paper, that Rep. Gail Schwartz is excited about a new bill that she is drafting to build new schools, but there was nothing on school security, replaceing lost edication departments from budget cuts, or limiting Superintendant retirement packages, should i get excited with her, or ask that she present her drafted bill to our distict before submitting it, to see if we want what she is trying to sell.
This example is what happens all over our country, in every political party and from the President on down to the town Mayor. We are givin a little, so campaign contributers can get alot, we need to stop this and regain control of government.

Interested in politics, as I believe that living as a disabled low class American has givin me more experiance than any politition and an insight to what is wrong in this country and how to fix it, which is, starting from the bottom up, the low and middle class built this country, the lobbyist, political parties, special interest and the rich are killing it. favorite quote; To be politically correct is a waste of mind.
