I did a little research and found a lot about this email that has been on the web since about 1999. The email mixes a bit of fact with fiction. Here are two links that go into great detail about the topic. By the way, I cant stand her either, Several family members are in the armed forces, also several friends, so I understand where this described email can strike a nerve and get people upset.  (Joe Corazzini)

I have always wondered about that story. The true story makes me dislike her even more, because you always doubt how much is fact or fantasy, and the facts are a true indictment of her character, although I'm sure many people today would side with her. Yechhh.

Thanks for an interesting and informative post.

Hanoi Jane and John Kerry both are on the "Wall of Heros" in Vietnam. I have a personal dislike for both of them and what thay represent. The name Benedict Arnold comes to mind when you talk about these two heros.

Right or wrong, she was and still is an American, would anyone say anything if she went to Gitmo or Abu Ghraib. Comparing her behavior now to her behavior then, reminds me of the saying "if at twenty you're not a liberal, you have no heart, if at forty you're not a conservative you have no brain." We had no right to be in Vietnam and we have no right to be in Iraq. Don't get me wrong I support our troops, then and now, however there is a reason they call it war, terrible things happen on all sides. It is the civilian leaders, who need to be held responsible. In Vietnam there was a draft, people were given a choice to obey the flee the country, go to jail, or enter the war, (unless your last name was Bush) none of the choices were good. They all had pros and cons. Iraq is slightly different, with a completely volunteer military, I doubt many are joining because they what the thrill of battle, the kill or be killed atmosphere. They joined for any number of reasons and now face by choice, the same choices, flee jail, or war. As a veteran (all peacetime) I can't honestly, say how I would respond to the choices. I came of age right after Nam and because of people Jane the carnage was over. For that I thank her and all of the other protesters. that ended the war. I now exercise my right to protest and try to bring this war to an end.

Yessiree, the likes of Jane Fonda and John Kerry joined forces and brought that war to an end. Yup,stopped those bad Americans right in their tracks by golly. What a boob. Came of age after "the Nam". What that tells me is you were part of the dope smokin military. Let me guess Army or Air Force. You go boy!!! You protest.... get right in line with Jane, and John and Susan and protest away hold hands and just protest the vile americans into submission again. Thats your right. Just keep in the back of your ugly little feable mind why you have the right to do such.
I hope your on the street corner protesting as I greet my little brother when he comes home from that place they call Iraq from his 4th tour, you know, the place we have no right to be. Don't say you support the troops, you're a damn liar straight up. You my meager little liberal friend support the likes of Jane Fonda, not our troops. Don't insult their existence.

Just one more thought..... You are an insult to every Veteran who ever lived or died for this Great Country. If you are in fact a "peace time vet" you gave up your Brothers and Sisters. You should be proud. Alot of good people have given their lives for you to exercise your right to protest.

75 to 79 USS Forrestal CV59. The one that almost sank off the coast of North Vietnam with Senator McCain on board. I was issued the National Service Medal, but never wore it because I didn't feel like I earned it. And if you didn't notice I did not mention Afghanistan, I truly hope your brother makes it thru Iraq. I'll do what I can to shorten his stay. We definitely have a different view on how and why the war in Iraq is being fought. God Bless, you for exercising your right to disagree with me. Haliburton, Blackwater, and the rest of the military industrial complex thank you for your support. And God bless America, I hope we can save it, before the corporations take it from the citizens. That would be the true slap in the face of all the KIAs and wounded vets through out the history of this great country.

I'm sure he'd be pleased you're working so hard to throw up the white flag and get him home. I didn't mention my views on how and why the the Iraqi war is being fought. That's my buisness and I don't choose to debate it with you.
And, just a point here..... It's not a national service medal, no such thing. It would be a National Defence Medal and you get the first one free just for enlisting, being drafted, etc. That's your first award and most wear it with great pride if for no other reason they are serving their Nation. I guess you weren't proud of your service there squabby.
I have 4. This would be up to and including 2 tours in Iraq and one in Afghanistan.

I may have gotten the name of the medal wrong, haven't given it any thought for almost thirty years, just remember the big deal they made about it in boot camp, on how we would be the last to receive it as the Vietnam era was officially over. I didn't serve there, had no chance of being sent there and felt that I hadn't done anything to deserve wearing it. Since I won't be able to explain it, in satisfactory terms on how someone can be against the war and the current administration and still support the troops, I will just bid you and your brother well. God Bless you both.

Oh YAY!!!! another Jane Kerry fan. It's a New England thing.

I don't think it's "a New England thing," I live in New England (Central Massachusetts) and I support our troops 1,000,000%. I have a lot of friends and relatives that are in the armed forces. One thing is for sure, we have the right to free speach, and that freedom was won for all Americans by our men and women in uniform (US Armed Forces)

And right you are Joe. The New England thing was not directed in your particular direction. I lived pretty much my entire life about 4.5 hours from Boston. It was thrown out there to the Kennedy, fonda, Kerry ilk.
The right to the freedom of speech is a great and wonderful thing, I'm in the middle of helping another country have that freedom, among other things, as we speak.

I live in the Norfolk, Va. area. At the beginning of Desert Shield, I was scheduled for surgery and opted to have it done under a local instead of a general anesthetic so I could go to work at Newport News Shipbuilding and be there when ships came out of the mothball fleet and were prepared for deployment. Was able to put in ten hours of a twelve hour shift, before the pain medicine made me to dizzy to continue climbing all over the ship fixing the lights. Worked three weeks of twelve on twelve off until the ships were ready. I used to volunteer at the local Va. center in Hampton, Va. until my own disability made that impossible, disabilities I received as a civilian coming to the aid of a local police officer who was in trouble and then another time stepping in between a rapist, and his intended victim, he was ten years my junior and eight inches taller than I. Think lowly of me if you what but I will always respect and support members of the military. And I have no problem and actually consider it my patriotic duty to oppose this civilian administration. Doing the right thing at the right time is a trait I learned working on the flight deck, personal safety comes second when a fellow American is in harms way. God bless you all.
