So…. what do you do with your state championship bling, once the new season starts?
Well, as proud as he is of his GRANDVIEW football coach JOHN SCHULTZ has taken his state championship ring off and stored it away for the fall. “I told the kids I’m not wearing it ‘til the season’s over”, Shultz explained. “It’s a little superstitious, but, more than that, I want these seniors to earn what’s theirs. It’s not about last year, it’s about this year.”
Wolves football was the school’s first boys team to win a state championship, and now they have the chance to be the first to go back-to-back. “The younger players helped last years seniors have a great year. Now it’s their turn.”
