Mrs. Obama is a beautiful, articulate woman who gave a nice talk about her nice brother, nice parents, nice husband, nice life.  The children are adorable and, of course, nice.

What I could not help but notice was the liberal intent to reinvent America.  Also, the comment, "...it is the country I love" appeared more forced than sincere.  If there is anything about this country she loves it is the liberal vision for what it SHOULD be instead of what it is.  Of course, with her husband being the most liberal Senator in Congress, he and she feel that we should be a socialist republic at best and a communist regime at worse.

It was refreshing not to hear the standard, angry, hateful diatribe from this lady.  I certainly give her kudos for that.  This time, in front of a national audience, I am sure the Obama handlers gave her strict instructions and probably crafted much of her speech.  She had obviously practiced her delivery, appropriate voice intonations, hand movements, smiles, etc.  It was delivered well, albeit more staged than heartfelt.

I agree, this is not the Mrs. Obama we’ve seen in earlier appearances. She has been carefully softened and made more palatable.

What I find interesting is you have a black man and woman, who by their own words came from simple working class parents and who, in a relatively short span of time in their lives, have risen to position of possibly becoming the president and first lady of the United States. And yet the country still isn’t good enough, and they want to change it. The only way I think they might make it better for themselves is if they found a way to be crowned king and queen.

But what really sickened me were the accolades paid to, and the appearance of, Sen. Edward Kennedy. His niece Caroline Kennedy said her uncle "has been a senator for all who believe that the dream has never died." She said "Uncle Teddy" and Obama are "two men who have changed my life and the life of this country. Well, “Uncle Teddy” certainly changed the life of Mary Jo. Kopechne on July 19, 1969 at Chappaquiddick when he killed her. There are many who have fading memories and others who weren’t yet born. So I invite them google Chappaquiddick or the name Mary Jo. Kopechne and read the stories and reports about this great Senator and man of character. He is not as famous as he is infamous.

Gees just warms you to the toes didn't it? But they did pull her from the media for how long to practice smiling and sucking up to America?

Their handlers made Obama start wearing a flag on his lapel and to move to a more "centrist" position, at least in words. Now, his ads target his hopes and dreams for the middle class.

Anyone buying that?

As a long time supporter of Senator Obama I can tell you that his focus has been on the middle class for the last four years.

I have also heard Michelle Obama speak in person and seen complete speeches on TV at least four times. Last night was similar to every other time I have heard her speak. She is a gracious and intelligent speaker though she has always seemed a little ill at ease being in the spotlight.

A 15 second sound bite may create an image in the mind of the public but it is not necessarily an accurate representation of either the person or thier beliefs.

Think of some of Bush's more memorable moments...would you really want his entire presidency based on any one of the hundreds of "bushisms" that are out there? ("Got Wood?" is one of my personal favorites.)

There were a couple of times when she used the words “the country” instead or our country. It still seems to me that she doesn’t feel a part of it. Now speech writers and write a flaw free speech, but when you get up in front of an audience and are nervous it is very easy to deviate a little and revert to using words and phases you are accustomed to and/or feel comfortable with. It may be just her personality, but the woman doesn’t come across sincere to me except when she is knocking the country. But then, we are all going to see what we want or expect to see.

Miss. Nancy, you should be careful calling Michelle Obama “beautiful and articulate.” Do you mean that she’s “beautiful and articulate” for a black woman? That’s the claim that was made when someone (can’t remember who) called Sen. Obama “clean and articulate.” Obviously you’re a racist. Just kidding.

I am willing to bet Jackie O'Michelle could articulately out curse Popeye behind closed doors.

Jordan, ironically, the person who said Sen. Obama was "articulate and clean" was SEn. Biden, his new running mate.

No, I am not racist and only a racist would think I was saying she was beautiful and articulate for a black woman. Thanks for understanding one can say something about a person and it has nothing to do with race.

Satira, I would not take that bet :-)

I am a Democrat, but find no credibility in Obama or his wife either one. I didn't listen to her speech, mainly I knew I wouldn't believe anything she would say. I'm sick of all the lies and promises, from both sides.

Its all about power, mabell. That's all any of them care about.

My concern is who will use the power we give them in the least harmful way? Obama wants this country to become a socialist state. I am not a socialist, marxist, stalinist or communist. I am an American. Since I want this country to remain a republic built on free enterprise and what few individual freedoms we still have, I will vote for McCain.

Also, knowing that Obama was the ONLY Illinois senator to vote FOR the intentional murder of a baby surviving an abortion attempt, I could never vote for him nor support him in any way. I could never support someone who felt infanticide was allowable, and voted for it to be legal.

No one is a "long time supporter" of Obama. He hasn't been around long enough. Anyone who makes a statement like that isn't in touch with the reality of the man.

What i saw on Monday night was a strong willed, opinionated, highly intelligent black woman who was being restrained and shoved into the box of being the black June Cleaver for the sake of Middle America who are frightened of her.

I do not agree with or support Obama. But to try and make Michelle into something she is not was a disgrace and a diservice to her and all women and minorities. IMO she is a strong willed person who has beliefs that many may not believe in. But to not let her be who she is is wrong, plain and simple.

That was not Michelle Obama. Just like Barack I think she thinks higher minded than that and I think she is far more arrogant and outspoken then she was allowed to be. I would rather see what the candidate and his wife is REALLY like now than after they are sworn in

Isn't it great. Michelle now loves "her" country and Hillary love Barrack. What a country we live in. Is this the "change" that BO talks of? Are we to belive Hillary won't cut your throat in a "New York Minute" or stab you in the back. What changed Michelle's mind, do you think maybe she realizes she should be nice until after the election. BO will answer the tough questions only after the election, in the meantime BO will ride the fence; doesn't that make your balls sore? Watch out for those barbed wire fences as they will steralize you for good. Brings me to believe there are still lots of blind people in the world and some may even be immprevious to sound as they fail to hear what's going on around them.

Watching the convention, I feel it is more comedy than anything else. Hillary and Obama have zero regard for each other and Bill has been very vocal in his dislike of Barack Hussein Obama (btw, that is a muslim name). However, at the convention it is all huggy, huggy, kissy, kissy. Like one commentator said, "No one fakes sincerity like Bill Clinton".

I like the group PUMA (Political Unity My *ss). At least they are honest about how they feel. I think that is the only honesty we have or will see from the Dem leadership.
