Here's a bit:

"US President George W. Bush has said he would love to fight in Afghanistan if he was younger.

President Bush suggested fighting on the frontline was "romantic" during a video conference with US military and civilian personnel in the war-torn country.

"I must say, I'm a little envious," he said.

"If I were slightly younger and not employed here, I think it would be a fantastic experience to be on the front lines of helping this young democracy succeed.

"It must be exciting for you ... in some ways romantic, in some ways, you know, confronting danger. You're really making history, and thanks.""

Quick!  Give TheDecider a parachute, rifle & a bullet and let him have at some 'romance'  Why did he choose to sit-out Viet Nam?  Not romantic enough?

What a lousey piece of EDIT this guy is.

I doubt you will find any soldier in Iraq who thinks their daily dance with death is "romantic".

No wonder this slice of garbage was so anxious to send our boys and girls into the "hell" of war....Dumbo thought they would have a grand and romantic time dodging bullets and surviving IED's.

Not only did this coward dodge real service in Viet Nam, he skipped out on his duty in the reserves.

He sinks lower by the day into the dank cesspool he brews for himself.

If our Troops were actually able to speak their minds to our CIC, I wonder what their thoughts about his words would be?

I know what the Vets I forwarded this to think and it ain't pretty.

Perhaps he needs to put that flight suit back on and take another strut around the deck of an aircraft carrier? It might make him feel more romantic?

Perhaps someone from the Bush Family Dynasty could enlist? I won't hold my breath.

No attempts to defend the indefensible? I'm impressed and heartened.

Perhaps there is hope for our great nation?

AH! the RWNJ's silence is deafening!

What about the "romance" of dying, losing your limbs or seeing you best friend die?

How about it boys?

Do you still approve of this worthless piece of crap?

I guess the best response to truth is silence?

I posted this on a few boards. So far, this is the only RW response:

"its better to romance about the front lines then to romance with the enemy like the democrat do."

How lame. Defend at all costs? How absolutely UnPatriotic and UnAmerican. To me, that is spitting in the face of our Troops & Veterans.

I doubt 'the boys' will weigh in. This comes from a msm outlet. Not MoveOn.org. It's hard to refute.

I'll speak up being a vet and also being #194 in the patriot gaurds...Hmmmmm Lets see I have been to about 49 funeral 162 send offs 82 welcome homes 27 icecream events to hospitols for wounded soldiers and I would say that 95% of these brave men/women truly believe they are helping the Iraqi people. Of course I bet all those thosands of soldiers I deal with almost everyday as been brained washed to say that.
One thing is I really have to hand it to the both of you because you guys seem like you really care.
So how many funerals have you been too? I bet you guys can't even count how many send off's you have attended, How about those welcome homes, Boy those sure are moving huh? I am so glad that we have good people like yourselves who not only just say they support our troops but you show it in all the things you do for those brave people.. God bless the both of you.

And I suspect that based on your personal sacrifices and your support for the troops that you agree that fighting in Iraq is a "romantic adventure"?

There can be no greater insult to the bravery of our boys and girls than to liken their duty to a "romantic" romp in the desert.

We do not question the value of the troops but seek to condemn a "commander in chief" who views their job as "romantic"...especially one who avoided fighting in Viet Nam and failed even to fullfill his reserve duty..

Not to mention the abuse of longer and more often deployments, not to mention the disgraceful treatment the wounded receive when they return home, not to mention the destruction of our military by over use, not to mention the horrible malfeasance of sending them into battle with sub standard armour and vests......do I need to go on about the great job this shithead has done in abusing our troops?

Yep I do agree that was a dumb comment Bush made of course doesn't he make abunch of dumb comments?
Like I have said before I really Don't care for Bush either but listen to the two of you, You act like Bush is the only one in this war. I think both partys have screwed our troops blind. I just wonder why neither of you ever talk about how the Democrats are the ones who are the biggest offender in playing politics with our troops. We get billions of $ that will go to our troops and how many millions of $ of useless earmarks get attached to that money by the democrats?

True, BM.

I have always maintained that both parties are full of liars, crooks and thieves.

I despise John Kerry more than I do Dumbo....or maybe equally. Ted Kennedy is an escaped murderer no different than OJ.

Al Sharpton and John Hagee are equally a disgrace to Jesus.

The Dems are nuts to set a date for withdrawal in 60 days and Bush is the worst person ever to have defiled the presidency.

We can't afford either Hillary or Obama but neither can we afford the pork of the Republicans or the tax breaks for the fat cats.

We need a revolt to return the government to the common folk. McCain is the only hope I see, he has NEVER brought any pork to his state..

I'm still for Ron Paul. The candidate who gets the highest donations from active and retired Military. The one candidate that will bring us back to our Constitution and put the needs of WeThePeople first. Obviously, from that stance, he won't win. But I will vote for him anyway.

I agree that Bush is good at sticking his foot in his mouth. This comment, imho, is the worst yet. It shows how out-of-touch he is sitting in that ivory tower of his.

Booggymann, the time and effort you put in (if true) is to be commended. Isn't it a shame you have done more than this President and his administration for our Troops?

Yellowdog, when S1959 passes this summer, calling for a 'revolt' will make you a possible 'violent homegrown terrorist'. My, how far we have sunk under this administration where congress just rolls over to TheDecider and his decisions. All the while, our Troops are having such a 'romantic' time overseas......

We survived Nixon and Carter and Clinton but the wounds were superficial. It will take years or possible decades to repair the incredible carnage that this pig or a fool leaves behind.

It is possible not to fit into a mold BM. I started out as a Goldwater guy and also loved Humphrey. I liked them both for obviously much different reasons....and by the way, they liked and respected each other tremendously.

The risk of generalization is that lots of people don't fit neatly anywhere. That's me. And I love it. A James Dean rebel with a cause I hope.

A great cause. The cause of bringing this nation back to where she should be.

At this point, I am of no-party either. I am an American. Plain & simple.

We as a nation have a lot of work ahead of us. Without accountable elections, that work is a lot harder.

Moonowl I love your backhanded compliments. the (if true) Of course I am not a vet their is no such thing as a vet and their was no such thing as vietnam. and their are no dicharge papers and my miles of medical papers are all bogus and the two bullet holes in my back are stickon play tatoos.
Damnit moonowl and I had everybody fooled and then ya caught me.
That is exactly why I talk very little about my past is because of the jane Fondas of the world such as yourself. It is people like you that feel the exact same as the liberal fu-ks did when I finally got back, the only difference is today the extreme left has no problem showing their many faces. But I am sure you are a true patriot....If thats true.

It's not a backhanded compliment Booggymann. This is the internet. It's very easy to puff ones self up to make a point. You certainly wouldn't be the first to inflate their positons.

If what you say is true, you should be commended.

I mentioned that it is a shame that you have personally invested more time and energy into our Troops & Veterans than this administration has.

Would you care to opine on that point? Or just denigrate my character over a perceived slam?
