Here's a bit:

"WASHINGTON (Reuters) - President George W. Bush and his top policymakers misstated Saddam Hussein's links to terrorism and ignored doubts among intelligence agencies about Iraq's arms programs as they made a case for war, the Senate intelligence committee reported on Thursday.

The report shows an administration that "led the nation to war on false premises," said the committee's Democratic Chairman, Sen. John Rockefeller of West Virginia. Several Republicans on the committee protested its findings as a "partisan exercise."

The committee studied major speeches by Bush, Vice President Dick Cheney and other officials in advance of the U.S.-led invasion of Iraq in March 2003, and compared key assertions with intelligence available at the time.

Statements that Iraq had a partnership with al Qaeda were wrong and unsupported by intelligence, the report said.

It said that Bush's and Cheney's assertions that Saddam was prepared to arm terrorist groups with weapons of mass destruction for attacks on the United States contradicted available intelligence.

Such assertions had a strong resonance with a U.S. public, still reeling after al Qaeda's September 11, 2001, attacks on the United States. Polls showed that many Americans believed Iraq played a role in the attacks, even long after Bush acknowledged in September 2003 that there was no evidence Saddam was involved."

The Bush boot lickers cannot be bothered with facts moonie.

It is much more convenient to blame a "liberal" and then return their heads into the sands of Iraq or up their brain storage cavities.

Facts are pesky aren't they Yellowdog?

Tho, the sounds of silence are better than the crowing of 'that's not true'. Tho that in itself is laughable and sad at the same time.

Too bad the 110th will do nothing to bring accountability to those who 'misused' that intelligence. W/out elections w/integrity why should they? It's certainly not in their best interests. Or so they think.

Too bad we don't go the way of The Netherlands. They threw out electronic voting completely this past month. Too many security flaws for them. They are going back to pen & paper.

Too bad we don't follow suit. I'm not holding my breath. Our government doesn't appear to care two flips about being held accountable for their choices that have brought us to the brink of ruin.

Oh well, I'd rather suffer the pain of being awake than be contently asleep at the wheel. My child's future demands it.

Saddam was a great man and so were his kids he was was the only thing keeping Iraq alive and this crap of going after Osama and his freedom fighters only shows what a rwnj will do. I am so glad that people like Moonie and yellowdog see the truth behind Islam, Keep up the good fight Moonie!

MO - yep, facts are pesky things. This was about the lies regarding Iraq, right? I guess somewhere I missed where you complimented hussein & said we should leave osama alone.

The saddest part is not that they lied, that's common knowledge. It's "Polls showed that many Americans believed Iraq played a role in the attacks". How easily some are fooled.

But isn't it funny how now nothing should be said about bush since he's thankfully a lame duck? Guess the rules have conveniently changed since 2000.

Bush isn't running? Really? I didn't know that FloydFreak. That's all you could come up with eh? Thanks for playing.

None that led us into this 'self-financing war' will held accountable for their actions either. That would send them running.

biggerthanu, Rumsfeld must have thought saddam was a good guy. They were friends in the 80's. We kinda helped saddam out if you remember back that far. Personally, I'm still waiting on Dick Cheney to make good on his promise to deliver ubl's head on a platter to the American People. Oh that's right, Bush has said he is of no consequence now. Except when he puts out a conveniently timed 'tape'.

DEOP, some things won't change. That would mean some people admitting they were mislead by misused intelligence. As we can see above, that's a toughie for some to grasp. It's easier to poo-poo facts as conspiracy theory and continue on voting for the same sold-out mess.

Sorry moonowl I don't quite understand what you ment, I was just agreeing with you for the fact Saddam and his boys were good men and dumbya had no right killing him, I guess I was just venting my frustation with the (rwnj) going after Osama, they have no proof he is a terrorist and we have all the proof he is a freedom fighter. I happen to agree with you and Rev. Write (GOD DAMN AMERICA)

BoogMan is that you in disguise trying to be funny? If not, my apologies biggerthanu and perhaps you should consider getting some different news sources? I think even Yellowdog would agree your a bit too far to the 'left' even for the Left?

Isn't foreign politics fun? Especially unintended blow back we all end up paying for.

Congratulations MO. How dare you post facts and reality about the lame duck bush administration.
Now see what you did, you've caused a response thread to be posted.

See what happens when facts are presented that go against what some read daily on their favorite web sites? Which web sites you ask? How about http://www.americanprotest.net/columns/04072006.php.>
Go to that site and you will see the majority of the response thread. Yep, it’s nothing more than a cut & paste that biggerthanu is trying to take credit for writing (why else not show where it came from?) HELLO HAWKEYE.

Now it is possible that biggerthanu actually wrote the following all by himself:
“PLease liberals just ignore these facts.....their just facts and you know how we feel about facts.”
Considering that he wants to ignore the bush administrations lies, this is quite hilarious.

Hey MO, one more thing - thanks for posting a thread that was sure to get some humorous responses. Now I’m not saying you threw out the bait, but thanks again.

He shrunk the picture, took down my non-existent quote and added an article overnight.

Hey, at least it keeps em off the streets. :)

It's what I'm here for.

Who knew it would be so hard for some people to realize that absolute power corrupts absolutely?

Lying a nation into a war isn't new. Aren't all wars started w/deception of some sort? At least according to Sun Tzu they are.

I guess demanding accountability from our politicians is too big a job? It's easier to pretend facts are fiction and everything is fine? Even if all one has to do is look around and see that it isn't.

Let's see, 6 in the House voted down HR1955. I wonder how many true patriots are in the Senate (S1959)? 6? No wonder our politicians don't want integrity brought back to our elections. It would be the end of the free ride. It's better to scream "Conspiracy Theory" and make bills that shut people up.

Our Founding Fathers must be sick at the apathy that is infesting WeThePeople. Or, perhaps they are not surprised at all? Freedom demands responsibility. Something that has fallen by the wayside. We watched Idiocracy last night. It was funny, but also kinda freaking true.

Such is life in our world.

Imagine that, Democrats putting together a report that 'concludes' the Republican Administration lied. It comes out six months before a presidential election. Then they try to use McClellans book as evidence he clearly cited nothing more than his opinions in his 'tell all' book.

The fact is there is no difference between the book McClellan published and the one Congress did - except tax payers paid for congress' propaganda.

Yeah, and Dennis Kucinich filed 35 articles of Impeachment yesterday. Like anything will happen.

Trying to fix things now doesn't absolve them of what they allowed by either their votes or their silence.

Personally I'm tired of all the blustering. It's apparent to me (in my peabrained, ignorant, taxpaying opinion) that we have very few politicians on either side of the aisle that actually work for us and without voting integrity there is no good way to change that.

What WeThePeople do about that remains to be seen.
