This is being posted as a warning to anyone who reads this.  We have just been scammed out of $10,000 +  by our neighbors that rent next door.  He holds himself out to be a Christian and an ex-evangelist/ministrial student/teacher.  He doesn't work...hasn't worked in years.  Has every major ailment that comes down the pike.  Said if I agreed to pay for his/his wife to go to New Zealand, ($10,000) he would work the trip off on helping with the remodel of my house.  When he got home, he immediately complained of back problems (no evidence of any problems on the trip, though he used the same complaint to get out of working with his son-in-law on his tile business)  and refused to do any work.  When confronted, he admitted he NEVER intended to keep his agreement.  We are old and sick, and know that even if we took them to court, we wouldn't get any money.  They have declared bankruptcy supposedly for the second or more time this past year.  Even the car they drive is in their daughter's name.  So there is nothing to attach if we did win a judgment.   Because they have had access to our financial and personal information, I have had to spend the last three days changing all our financial records, freezing our credit reports, tagging our bank accounts.  They live next door and I am reluctant to leave the house for fear they will do something to our dogs.  We firmly believe that they befriended us under the guise of Christian principles, in order to get our property. Always praying for us, but guess they had their hands in our pocket at the same time.  He's easy to spot...he tells new acquaintance that he has had 40 surgeries, burned his lungs, and had a stroke.  Has a repaired hairlip.  She does works in travel but pleads poverty all the time.  They have a strange moral code...almost like Travelers.  Guess we are lucky that they didn't get into us for more....Guess we are gullible and naive, even in our advanced years.
