Ok so this may be a totally stupid question but since the election I have continued to wonder why I am seeing so many "blacks" laying claim that Obama is the first BLACK President? Yes, it is true he is PART black but he is also PART white and to my way of thinking that makes him actually the first BI-RACIAL President. So why is that not the claim? This man was raised by a white mother and white grandparents. His black father had little to do with his upbrining as did his black grandparents. He was educated in white school and white colleges yet now he is ONLY BLACK. It just does not make any sense to me at all....is this the Michael Jackson syndrom at play??? Are we only black when we need an excuse and white when it suits our needs? How in the world can a man who doesn't even lay claim to what he REALLY is...effect any kind of positive change in a country that see in BLACK AND WHITE?

Even Fox 35 calls him the first "black" President.

I agree with you, call him the first "mixed" or "bi-racial" President. Lets not hold our breath however. It's one of those politically incorrect statements such as "Muslim terrorist" which they are not allowed to say.

Look at Tiger Woods when he won the Masters. He was the first African American and the first Asian American to win, not the first bi-racial to win. If you think of it, most of us are bi-racial but we dont go around with a chip on our shoulders about it iether.

Tiger Woods was the first bi racial to win. A person should not claim one side of his ethnicity, he should claim both and call it like it is. The first bi-racial president. Yes he is black and yes he is white so why not say yes I am bi-racial. Sure he is the first half black president to hold the office but, he is white too. That is the problem with this country we base everything on skin color and that is wrong. We should base the person on his expereinces and what he or she has accomplised in thier life exerpiences. Everyone thinks of the early 1300's era which is wrong too. Get over the race card.

If he laid claim to any of his whiteness he never would have made it past the first debate 1 1/2 ago. The only reason he had made it was because of the race card. And of course ignorant voters.

I had this conversation with folks that said the blacks voted for him because of his skin color, and told them its not true!

If it had been Michael Steel, former Lt.Gov. of Maryland who is quite the conservative, and Republican, AND 100% black, they would have NEVER voted for him!

I submit that the ENTITLEMENT CLASS voted for Obama, under the cover of half his skin color...

They voted for the man that promised to snatch money from the "opressive rich" and cut them checks with it!

By using the "black" statement he plus the democratic party is going to have to make certain that the promised entitlement in wasted money are accomplished, they bought his presidency with terrorist money so now they have to accommodate, the "double" standards are been enforced, has every one forgot the reaction and all the lies about First Justice Clarence Thomas.

Croma I am not bi-racial at all and as far back as you can go in my family (we have gone to the 1300's btw) we have only one race but that isn't my point. Obama is NOT black, period. He IS bi-racial and yet here we have a nation of black individuals totally ignoring that fact all while screaming "race" for everything they want and don't get. Instead of using his status as being bi-racial to bring people together he seems more than content to use it in the opposite and encourage even more racial tensions by denying it himself and that is disgraceful in my eyes.

Abunai, I believe you are exactly correct in that the "entitlement class" put him in office and I am afraid that by doing so the BOUGHT a President who is willing to be a puppet.

As I said...I think this entire nation has taken a step back about 300 years and all those that fought and died for the cause have now died in vain at the hands of the first BI-RACIAL President. Some history to leave our children.

well probably because his appearance is black. it basically has to do with double standards and ahh yes.........ETHNIC PRIDE is the one term no one has used yet. but being we now have a black president, maybe we won't have to listen that the man is keeping a brother down. the playing field is now even.

Oh..Oh...I know the answer to this question!!!

Because the Black race wishes to be more recognized and have more reason to again slap whitey in the face even though the truth may be that he is a Zebra (both white and black) it was what he set out to be presented and the way he presented himself to American voters! The claim of passing himself off as African American was the very first lie he started out with! Its funny how a number of his lies came back and bit him during his pro-longed campaign and he always had a response or excuse! It also just goes to show that appearances can be deceiving and truth can be thrown out the back door! But all in all...it shows that more lies and claims can become truth within the eyes of the ignorant and blind which made this into a race issue.

Funny how Obama used the term African American for political gain which in does in fact denies any white part of him! Even though he may have a white mother and was partially raised by white grandparents...he only claims his bio fathers blood side! To me that shows just how racist he truly is and how much of a player he is too!

Wonder what would happen if B.O. chose to be half white only and actually have his mother or grandmother at any of his events or rallies? He has written two books and both claim he does not care for whites. He is the ultimate racist. Where is our version of Al Sharpton? I feel hurt!!!!

Odd that you'd post this a couple of days ago, and LAST night, I caught a part of the "Chappelle Show" where a panel was "voting" to make people who were bi-racial, whatever the races were, go one way or the other. It was hilarious. In the end, O.J. got made "White" and the Blacks TRIED to take Eminem (sp?) but he got traded for 2 other well known Black people. Both Colin Powell and Condaleeza Rice were "made" White. It was funny as all get out! And about as stupid as people "high-fiving" one another over The first Black Man in The White House."

"Afro American" or "black" President is safer than the truth, first Arab President.

This could be a lot more simple if we just drop the label and forget about it. I, being the first orange blogger on this site, today, since one minute ago, while surfing on a shark's back, don't see what the big deal is.
