Imagine Life As A Game
(Author unknown)
Imagine life as a game which you are juggling some five balls in the air.
You name them – work, family, health, friends, and spirit,
and you’re keeping all of them in the air.
You will soon understand that work is a rubber ball, if you drop it, it will bounce back.
But the other four balls spirit, family, health and friends are made of glass.
If you drop one of these, they will be irrevocably scuffed, marked, nicked, damaged or even shattered. They will never be the same.
You must understand that and strive for balance in your life.
How?
--- Don’t undermine your worth by comparing yourself with others ---
It is because we are different, each of us is special.
--- Don’t set your goals by what other people deem important ---
Only you know what is best for you.
--- Don’t take for granted the things closest to your heart ---
Cling to them as you would your life, for without them, life is meaningless.
--- Don’t let your life slip through your fingers by living in the past or for the future ---
By living your life one day at a time, you live all the days of your life.
--- Don’t give up when you still have something to give ---
Nothing is really over until the moment you stop trying.
--- Don’t be afraid to admit you are less than perfect ---
It is by taking chances we learn to be brave.
--- Don’t shut love out of your life by saying its impossible to find ---
The quickest way to receive love is to give, the fastest way to lose love is to hold it to tightly, and the best way to keep love is to give it wings.
--- Don’t run through life so fast that you forget not only where you have been, but also where you are going ---
--- Don’t forget that a person’s greatest emotional need is to feel appreciated ---
--- Don’t be afraid to learn ---
Knowledge is weightless, a treasure you can always carry easily.
--- Don’t use time or words carelessly ---
Neither can be retrieved.
--- Life is not a race, but a journey to be savored each step of the way ---
--- Yesterday is history, tomorrow is a mystery, and today is a gift ---
That is why its called the present.

Its a real sad day in Amrica when a person cannot afford meds on a fixed income. Our story....
About 10 years ago my hubby had 5 discs in his back fused L1 thru 5, needless to say this rendered him unable to work, we were at the mercy of workmans comp, and he had NO CHOICE but to elect to undergo back surgery. Now mind you he is in constant pain ALWAYS. Now he is on Social Security disability, which isnt enough for us to live on.but we manage. Well through the years he has been on many different pain meds. Well through the ordeal of his dad passing, he had the doc write him a script, so when he needed a refill, he could get it. Now doc put him on a new time released pain med......it was helping....finally something that actually worked! Well it came time to refill his med..he goes to Walgreens, they wanted $600.00 for 60 pills!!!!! Said his benefits had expired, he used up all his med benefits!! At this point only 6 months had been used...so what is he to do for the rest of the year? Evidently suffer, Aside from the fact this med will eat up 1/2 of his SSD check every month!
Now because he is at the max limit of SSD, because when he was working, he made a really good living, I do not qualify for any benefits, nor does he..for example..No food stamps for us we earn to much! I cannot get ANY medical insurance, nor attention..because He earns to much! He recieves nothing for me being his WIFE and DEPENDANT of 27 years...yet I HAVE to disclose his income for any kind of assistance, only to be told...HE EARNS TO MUCH!
Now I ask you...who can survive on $1500.00 a month, when your meds that help your pain.....COST $600.00 a month? I Imagine pretty soon we will be on the street...lose our home that we have by the GRACE of GOD been able to hold on too for the past 18 yrs. And become a headache to society. This has never been our intention, as we are hardworking God fearing Americans! $600 bucks a month for meds is LUDICRIS! Along with immoral! And mind you thats just 1 script...he also needs his heart meds!
So what party is REALLY going to help the elderly, and the truly disabled? Please I would like to know.

I have No sympathy what-so-ever. When you buy up all surrounding banks with in the state and country, then approve bad loans..Please dont go crying to the government to bail your dumb arse out!
Now I feel for those that will be left un-employed. But come on, if the bank had all those monies to buy up other banks, and keep them ALL open and running, when you have 2 of the same bank across the street from one another, what is WRONG with this picture? Typical Greed 101, and now you gonna cry poor me??
Wachovia practiced bad business. Any Mom or Pop shop would have to eat their losses, learn from the experience, and probably close their doors. Oh yes there is no more Mom and Pop establishments left...its all BIG CORPERATE AMERICA.......oops my bad. Well its time for Corperate America to learn business 101. And dont go to the government to bail them out!..Learn how to PROPERLY BUDGET your monies like the rest of this country, that has NOBODY to bail us OUT!

Well, I just got some distressing news today. My neighbors adult pitbull was stolen out of their Deltona backyard! This happened a couple weeks ago right after i was outta town. Had I been home the culprit may of been caught in action, as my female alerts me to anyone within 2 houses of mine. Yet two weeks prior to this incident, 3 of my own pitbull pups were stolen out of my sons Deltona backyard. Both thefts occurred by the new Walmart area. The Adult that was stolen was a male tiger striped Pitbull w/ a black face, the 3 pups were female, now 5 months old 2 redw/ white chest, 1 white with blue/ brown eye and brown tipped ears. Both thefts were reported, and of course no follow up nor resolution, in either theft.
My request of course if you have any info, report to Volusia County Animal Control. But really, my wish is for all to look and see whats going on in our neighbor hoods. Watch strange people and cars in the area, meet your neighbor and cover each others backs.
My fear is these dogs are being stolen for fighting reasons, and that just tears my heart out! iF THIS BREED IS SOO DANGeROUS..HOW IS IT THEY GET STOLEN FROM THEIR OWNERS???

I understand "You get what you pay for" BUT, airfare is extremely high, and I would think we as CUSTOMERS, should at least get alittle courtesy, so let me share the rudeness i encontered with the airline my hubby choose for me to fly on.
Now i was excited to fly out of Daytona, and that airport was very nice along with the people there...the weather kept us on runway for an hour..it was raining in Charlette. which was my layover....of 2 hours. So we finally get to Charlette...to sit on runway waiting for a gate....for a half hour, okay then i think i can still catch my flight to Chicago, once we finally get to the gate BUT NO...we wait another half hour for the thing to let us off the plane....as i watch my delayed flight take off..............mind you there is no rain now in Charlette......so the run thru the airport to try to connect.....As I am waiting in the LONG line, i make mention to an employee..."thanks for making me miss my flight" His response "Youre welcome"...ok my blood started to boil at this point. Now to figure out what flight to be on.........So I was to leave at 8:20...but again delayed til 9 pm...ok..I'll go eat..as i've 2 more hours to wait for my "new" plane...finish that..go to check flight...delayed til 9:20, so I call hubby, to let him know the schedule. Well i go back to gate at 9:15 to only find ..DELAYED AGAIN til 9:40, along with dealing with the RUDE employees of Charlette, back to calling hubby, for the new update. Now I'm really "HOT" (nicest employee i found in Charlette was maintenece). So finally I'm on the plane WOOHOO. Only to find the MOST condescending Flight attendant in the world! I was placed by the emegency exit, and she with her snobbish way asks, "if in an emegency, can I help? And can I read!" Well I am an educated individual, and I did take offense to that statement. So as we are waiting to unload, i am wearing a shirt that says "I DONT DO DRAMA"..........She had the NERVE to say..you should have worn a shirt that was true> HA! What a witch.
So my airfare was $249.00 one way for one person. Our trip from Chicago for 2 people gas only...was $260.00..................US AIRWAYS can bite me, as they will NEVER see another penny from my wallet. And Charlette NC has some of the rudest people I ever ever seen. Ok I'm done complaining now :)

Well i guess the bickerfest has ruined it for all.
All content being reviewed, before being posted, because heaven forbid , one may offend another, because they disagree, with the opinion of the poster. Now i can see if one is being attacked personally, with name calling, and cursing, but ALL things now to be reviewed...............what, we no longer can express our opinions, no more freedom of speech? And who is to say what is proper blog material?
Yet this is what happens all the time, the squeaky wheel syndrome, I really think some people need to get over themselves.

Wanted to take a moment to thank everyone for the many prayers that went our families way. For the circumstances it was a good trip, alot of family bonding. S. Dakota was just beautiful, easy to see why my father-in-law lived there. We saw his home..which is over 100 yrs old! We went to the old church and found 5 generations of our family in the cemetery...it sat over a gorgeous lake, along side the church that was built in 1874. I have to say life is way different out there, it did not get dark until 10 pm, and time really did stand still.
I'm going to miss my father-in -law alot........ but he is at peace now, in the military circle, which is where he wanted to be. Again thanks so much for your support and prayers, and now life must go on......with the new generations, that hopefully will make this a great place to live.

Finally............... I am in full support of the feasible study regarding costs of Deltona policing their own city. I think is way overdue, when we incorporated as a city, these actions should have been looked into.
So Kudos to the mayor, for looking into what is best for the citizens in Deltona, and letting us decide. I hope and pray for the sake of our city, that we will get our own police dept. Its long overdue, and very much needed in our community.
Now if we can get more jobs for our residents, maybe we can truly become a self sufficent city. that we as citizens would be PROUD to live in.

I thought i was being underpaid here in this right to work state, so i went to look it up..before throwing a tissy fit. and check this out.....................http://www.dol.gov/esa/minwage/
america.htm#Florida
Many other states have a higher min wage rate than Florida, i thought this was a federal mandate that applied across the board, how wrong i was.
And yet the map says florida is above the federal rate....... $6.79 an hour! in Ga. $5.15 an hour! Kansas $2.65 an hour w/ a 46 hour work week!!!!
No wonder people are turning to crime....one cant live on min wage!!!! With high costs of everything, this is absolutely appalling!! Wasn't the min wage rate raised???? I think min wage should be double the price of a gallon of gasoline, after all isnt gas whats driving our economy today????
What do you think ?

hi all,
Well, as stated, tommorow i will be married 27 yrs. Unfortunately hubby and I wont be spending it together. See his father is in S. Dakota , dying of cancer, the cancer is consuming his whole body. Hubby went to see him in hospital for Fathers Day, thought he was doing better, and by the time he got back to Fla. His father took a turn for the worst. Of course in this economy, money has been real tight. Hubby tried to rent a car to drive to S. Dakota, but with no major credit card, he was denied a vehicle, I guess cash isnt good enuf these days. So he is driving the best vehicle we own, to S. Dakota, and when word comes I will be hustling to fly out to S. Dakota, for services.
I request your prayers for Hubbies Dad, that he has peaceful last days and can enjoy his children, for these last days of his. And for the safe arrival of my husband, in said S.Dakota.
I have enjoyed blogging with you all, and I may be gone for a bit...but i will be back... ut oh (lol)
Thanks in advance for all prayers going our way
For Pops.....Thanks Dad for always accepting me as your daughter -in law..it meant so very much to me , and I love you so much for that simple gesture. I'm gonna miss bashing..good ol mama in law together LOL
For Hubby.....Please arrive safely, Happy Anniversary, even though it doesnt seem to happy at this time, but know I will always love you. You are a good son, father and mostly husband. I did right in choosing you, to spend the rest of my days with.

For the past couple of years my husband and I have been playing APL poker here about town. There is no money involved to play, the request is that you support the venue its hosted at, buying, food and drink. They play weekly all over the country and now have become affliated with WPT, you earn points to qualify for larger tournments. They play Texas Hold em, tourney style.
Here is the link to the home page
http://www.amateurpokerleague.com/
There is a list of all venues that participate, and times of games.
Because money is tight for all these days, and we all need a break sometimes...this is a nice alternative.
Good luck at the tables :)

Today is fathers day, I would like to take the time to let you Dads know how much your family loves you and respects you.
Dads are the workers of the family and head of the household, they have the responsibility to ensure the best for their families, and most of the time are off working to support said family, that alot of times we have no time to say how much we really love our Daddies, but rest assured guys we do.
My Dad has been gone now for 10 yrs. And I have to say, Thanks Dad for all the sacrifices you endured to keep us together as a family, for your love and support in times of need. Thanks for disciplining me and my brothers, so we would know right from wrong, again thanks for holding us accountable for our actions. Mostly tho thanks for teaching me life isnt fair and we can only do our best to get the most out of life.
So Happy Fathers Day guys, and enjoy your day however you see fit, after all this is the day that we show you how honored you really are.
