Obama is only a junior Senator, in his first-term as a Illinois state senator running against John McCain who has many more years of experience. McCain was a military brat of a high ranking officer, married into wealth, and never had to experience any type of "American struggle." With the economy, stock market struggling, and McCain admitting he lacks the knowledge into fixing this situation, he doesn't provide much of a positive change that America desperately desires. How would you expect to fix something if you've never actually experienced it ? He's been wealthy his whole life.
His immigration reform, will only rise unemployment rates. Immigrants must be legalized, and brought out of the shadows, or else deported, after all every single one of us are immigrants.....and they should have a right to work...Legally...
His policy to offshore drilling is a short-term fix, that will not fix the long-term problem ! We need to become dependent on an alternative. Oil will not be around forever. If we can build a piece of equipment to take us to the moon, then we darn sure can find an alternative, clean, energy source. Nuclear energy? Where are we gonna put the waste? Oh yeah Republicans dont believe in Global Warming....
Iraq? Why is this guy McCain so fixed on staying in Iraq... Violence is down... YES, but anytime you add 20,000 to 30,000 of the Worlds Finest MEN and WOMEN in any set location it's gonna bring positive changes, it doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure that out. It also doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure out that America can't afford to continue spending $10 billion a month on a war that we've obviously won, and not focus much of our attention to Afghanistan and Pakistan, where Al-Qaeda have now shifted. We left Vietnam, for obvious reason, (we got our butts kicked) we can now leave Iraq with a sense of pride, but John McCain seems to have that Vietnam psychie still intact.... The fact that he's running his campaign as a tortured 5 1/2 year POW, when he was actually only maltreated and tortured for 2 years. In fact September 1969 they increased John McCain's food and rudimentary health care, along with the several hundred that had been captured BEFORE John McCain including Dr. Philip Butler of University of California who was a former POW alongside John McCain. For his POW status John McCain recieved a Purple Heart and a Silver Star. Among all 600 POW's there were, 590 Silver Stars, and 1,249 Purple Hearts given out.... Seems more like a "standard medal" to me. Furthermore if John McCain left as a POW, he would have to speak against his country, lie about his treatment as a POW (say his treatment was lenient and humane), and admit the U.S. were criminals, no soldier/sailor would do that in a time of war... So when the United States lost Vietnam I can understand why McCain has a grudge on war and why he may never give up Iraq... it all makes sense....
I'll admit Obama hasn't been on the scene long enough, but the guy is smart. He took down the most respected popular name in the Democratic party in the last 18 years. Two of his right hand men (D-RI) Senator Jack Reed and (D-DE- Joe Biden both sit on the National Foreign Relations Committee and have done so the past 10+ years. It doesn't take ACTUAL experience to access a situation. And if the people had any doubt, he should've clearly emptied it last week, with the warm welcome of General Petreas and Prime Minister Nouri Maliki, and the Iraqi people. The World Loves America, The World Is Desperate For A Change In American Attitude In Direction (200,000+ audience at Berlin speech)
McCain might have 25+ years in the Senate, whats experience... if its not the experience America so desperately needs.... because the "trickle down" effect obviously isn't working with our economy.... Obama's plan for a second stimulus sounds appropriate, but is a looooooooooooooooooooong way to get back to the way Democrats (Clinton) left the budget when he left office...... BALANCED !!! not at a record defceit that Bush has it now !
