Well           Duh

Tampa men got into a fight that escalated into one going for a gun and the other grabbing a machete.

Deputies arrested the man with the gun, 28-year-old Luis Cruz, Sunday evening. He was charged with simple battery and aggravated battery with a deadly weapon.

The Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office reports that Cruz and another man got into a fight Sunday afternoon, with Cruz punching the other man several times. The man went outside to a shed where he found the machete, and Cruz went to his room and got a handgun.

When the two met again, authorities say Cruz shot the man in the leg, followed by the man slicing Cruz's left wrist with the machete.

Now THAT is a buddy        shoot you in the leg......

I have friends like this.

The lawyer for a woman who admitted to abusing her dog says the animal has no rights and his client shouldn’t have to go to jail while she appeals her sentence.

Christine Abrams pleaded no contest to caging a dog until it starved.

If this doen't make you mad....

I plead no contest to a charge once, The Judge advised me if I plead no contest I would be waiving my right to an appeal. She admits she did it, why are they letting her appeal, it is a waist of tax payers money....She did it and got off too easy in the first place.

What do you think?

NASA and the U.S. Space Surveillance Network are tracking the object - a 1,400-pound tank of toxic ammonia coolant thrown from the International Space Station - to make sure it does not endanger people on Earth. Exactly where the tank will inevitably fall is currently unknown, though it is expected to re-enter Earth's atmosphere Sunday afternoon or later that evening, NASA officials said. The Sky Is Falling? VOLUSIA COUNTY, Fla. -- Thousands of dead Floridians are registered to vote and some in Central Florida had ballots cast in their names long after their deaths.

"That is scary," said Jim Branch.

Branch's mother Marjorie died in 2004 but someone voted for her in 2006. Branch had tried to get his mother removed from the voter rolls.

"It was much easier for me calling Social Security and taking her off not getting any more checks here, than it was that (voter registration)," he sid.

County records show James Santiago voted in the 2006 general election. He too, was dead. His wife, Joann, sees this as an open invitation for voter fraud.

When the government agreed to bail out Wall Street, the goal was to provide funds to shore up banks' capital bases so they would start lending again. It wasn't to help them fund the bonus pool. But estimates run that as much as $70 billion will get paid out in bonuses to Wall Streeters this year. That amount equals 10% of the $700 billion bailout.

A Goldman Hotshot Doles Out the Money

Neel Kashkari, a 35-year-old former Goldman Sachs whiz kid who believes in free markets, is getting the job at the Treasury Department of dispersing the government's $700 billion rescue. Is he really the right person for the job? Lots of observers have wondered if a seasoned vet with a little more political experience might be a better fit for the task at hand.

Some of these fools need to go to prison or at least fired.   How many of you out there think bonuses are in order?

Honolulu Hawaii    Bobby Maxwell kept a close eye on the oil industry for more than 20 years as a government auditor. But he said the federal agency he worked for is now a "cult of corruption" -- a claim backed up by a recent government report.

"I believe the management we were under was showing favoritism to the oil industry," Maxwell told CNN.

Maxwell is referring to a tiny agency within the Department of the Interior called the Minerals Management Service, which manages the nation's natural gas, oil and other mineral resources on federal lands.

A report, conducted by the Interior Department's inspector general and released earlier this month, found that employees at the agency received improper gifts from energy industry officials and engaged with them in illegal drug use and inappropriate sexual relations. It looked at activities at the agency from 2003 through 2006.

Maxwell said the report doesn't surprise him. The agency, he said, is corrupt "top to bottom."

I for one am shattered, I don't think I can go on now that they told me this.

Good Day

The world's shortest man met the world's leggiest woman Tuesday at an event to publicize the release of 'Guinness World Records 2009.' He Pingping, from China, stands 2 feet 5.37 inches tall. Russian Svetlana Pankratova is a little over 6 feet 4 inches tall. Her legs are 52 inches long -- or more than 4 feet long

Just think for a world record they should be  precise .  (to  publicize) the release of 'Guinness World Records 2009

Yikes...notice he is "precisely"2 feet 5.37 inches tall.  But her legs are somewhere between 48 and  52"   seems they need a volunteer to get better measurements, Being a volunteering good Samaritan that I am.....

I have been in Florida for every storm since and including Donna. Generators can be life savers (literally). That said, generators kill people every year, storm or no storm .Even expert electricians read the directions. It is the amateurs that usually get someone  hurt. If you are not absolutely positive of the proper and Safe use of a generator, read the instructions again And ask a licensed electrician.

Please consider the tips I have here, then go to the provided link for more information.

Make it impossible for children to get near the generator or wires.

Do not use questionable extension cords with frayed or skinned insulation.

Make sure the cord is rated for or larger than the load (appliances) you intend to run.

Use a high quality power strip with a breaker.

Keep generator and wiring dry. If possible build a generator house.

Never run a generator in a house or closed garage  A generator produces more
carbon monoxide than an automobile.

Turn generator OFF to refuel or change wiring.

Please read the saftey guide at this link.

Hi all,

If the book and movie deal are lucrative, our morals as a society are trash, and this sort of disgrace  will happen again.  I say do NOT buy the book or watch the movie. Show the scum who would try to profit
from this how sick they are, the added bonus of depriving them of the money might make them  rethink their callousness and greed.

Court Clears Way For Company To Start Bottling Water From Aquifer    A serious issue is impacting Central Florida's water supply. Yet another company wants to bottle your water from the Florida aquifer and sell it all over the world. Marion County tried to fight the plan, but lost.

The Saint Johns River Water Management District approved a permit four years ago for two men to pump the water from an existing well on their land off Northwest 175th Street, near Citra. Marion County commissioners immediately challenged the permit and the case eventually moved to the 5th District Court of Appeals.

Commissioners claimed the plan was not in the best interests of the public or the county, but two judges didn't agree and ruled 2 to 1 in favor of the property owners.

That decision now clears the way for the men to start pumping nearly a half-million gallons of water a day for the next 20 years so they can bottle it up and sell it.

This is a separate case from the Niagara bottled water company that wants to pump water out of Lake County. The county is considering filing a similar lawsuit against the Saint Johns River Water Management District. Niagara also wants to pump about 500,000 gallons of groundwater a day.
