The NCAA Basketball Tournament begins this week in Denver and other places around the country.

That means it's time for the March Madness office pools.

Some employers have expressed concern about lost productivity because of workers trying to watch the games and participating in pools to try to make money.

Technically, office pools are illegal if they involve the exchange of money because it is gambling. Should they be illegal? Are office pools a big problem for employers?

Technically office pools are already ILLEGAL and by an office manager ALLOWING office pools to be run in the office he/she is participating in the pool making him/her also a gambling house boss. But who cares, it's just a law that lets Big Brother control another part of our daily lives. If it disrupts daily productivity, then do something about it, if not LET IT GO!!!

Government should pay attention to the really important things in life, such as the miserable failure of the liberal democrat run public education system, instead of who's going to make $20 on a game!!! And I have no dog in this fight. I have no bacteria incubators and I don't watch basketball. I can't stand it. If they did away with it, that would be fine with me.

Wow Truepatriot...wow! "If they did away with it, that would be fine with me."

I love basketball...the only thing better than watching it is playing it! (For me)

Office tourney pools and pools with buddies are awesome. Usually don't get in ones with $$ because I'm terrible at them! Would rather just go out and spend my money on meaningful stuff...like Blizzards...now those are delicious!

Bosshog2, don't misunderstand me.

I would never do anything to prevent you from enjoying your sport. I was merely speaking for me. Basketball, golf, soccer, lacrosse, men's tennis, just not my cup of tea.

And as far as office pools or football pools at the bar go, if I want to risk $20 on the Broncos or the Rockies, it's my business, not the governments!

I can't do Blizzards...but I love their ChiliDogs...MMMMMM!

Can't say I like Basketball being lumped in with golf, soccer, lacrosse and men's tennis! hahaha!
I can definitely see why folks don't care for the NBA for sure -- even college ball I guess. No problems with that...but I hope it stays around!! haha.
