Prairie dogs at a construction site in Broomfield have caused some controversy.

The developer moved the prairie dog colony last fall. But now the construction has started, the prairie dogs are back.

Some people say the prairie dogs have been bulldozed and buried.

SEE THE STORY

What do you think about the situation of prairie dogs and construction?

I disagree with bulldozing the little guys or killing them, but should prarie dogs be treated any different then people when it come to "progress"? If the city wants your property, and you don't accept their "offer" then they simply condemn the property and take it...All in the name of "PROGRESS"

They may be cute sitting up watching life go by but aren't prarie dogs considered rodents and don't they carry diseases like plague, rabies...? Well, we allow liberals to live, breed like rabbits, suck the life out of our ecconomy, take over our lands, then just sit up and watch life go by after screwing things up, why not the prarie dogs?

I know a guy that is an insect exterminator. Once in awhile he gets accosted by some whackjob that thinks that the cockroaches have a "right to life".

Where do we draw the line? Do we halt all new construction for fear of disturbing rodents and insects?

Long-time readers of this site will think that I sound like a broken record, but here's a thought: Enforce our immigration laws.

If we sent 30 million hostile illegal aliens home, neighborhoods (complete with existing homes and commercial structures) would once again be safe and habitable for civilized people, and we wouldn't need all this new construction.

People would be shocked at the number of crisis facing our Country that could easily be solved with the enforcement of our laws.

Sounds like the construction company has reasonable accomidated those rodents. I don't see field mice, pine beetle or grass-hopper activist. We shouldn't change the way we live for the rodents!

I don't care about this. I just can see it will be a legal battle with a cost of ???

Here's another thought, gjflash, you ought to like this one.

The little guys were relocated once by the developer as required by the law. But the little fellers came back. Isn't it funny how these disease-infested rodents and illegal aliens have alot in common? And now they're just going to get wiped out for coming back! Hmmm! Where else can I go with this? Hmmm!

Growing up on the prairie, I can tell you that these pests ALWAYS come back. And, I'm real suspicious of where they relocate them--some sanctuary next to an unsuspecting rancher or farmer with livestock that can and do break their legs in prairie dog holes? Final thought: what is the big deal about burying alive an animal that DIGS for a living?!

If prarie dogs are like liberals and illegal aliens, (diseased, desert-crawling, bottom-feeders), why shouldn't they all share the same fate?

I just saw your anchor on fox31 state that he has not seen any comment favoring the contractor and all for the prairie dogs! Is he reading the same blog and comments? I am for the contractor.
