There was a nationwide annual celebration of marijuana on Sunday… It’s called 4/20.

Hundreds of students got together on the CU campus mostly to “light up”.  At Denver's Civic Center Park, as many as a thousand showed up.

Voters in Denver approved a measure that makes possession of a small amount of pot legal. But it’s not in Boulder.

There’s no word if there were any pot-related arrests at CU... There was one arrest at the event in Denver.

What's your opinion... should there be arrests at events like this?

Why would there be arrests in BOULDER for pot? Boulder did NOTHING about the CU sex scandal, botched an investigation for a murders little girl, went to Bangkok to try and redeem themselves, BOTCHED that up, and brought charges on a pet owner for dying her dog pink! Should we expect arrests. Their laws only apply if it makes them FEEL good. This is what LIBERALISM does to a city. Way to go Boulder!

Good morning Sceptic! You're right on the mark with your comment. I'm surprised any arrests were made for pot possession especially in Denver where, at least in the past, even an illegal alien heroin dealer selling to school students was only charged with trespassing by the then very liberal Denver DA's office.

i would like to know a answer to this one,,, how many of those kids at c.u. had what was termed back in the days of hippies for parents.. who..played around and smoked on the same grounds they were ... my question is this HOW MANY OF THEM were arrested back in the old days?

Septic..You answered a question with a question. And of cours you and T.P. had to throw in the blame on Liberals...Either there are NO Republicans outside of their house doing anything about anything, or maybe they don't exist..Why is it with you guys always throwing the blame on Liberals...How about taking the Bush approach..Don't ask question, just go in and drop boms on the crowds and sort it out later..After all they are pot heads and most likely have in their possesion, which is illegal..ANSWER THE QUESTION...What would a good ol' REP-TARD do? Feed us your infinite wisdom.

I say yes there should have been arrests, but as we all know, some things are simply left alone...What would happen if all the drunks got together for a National Drunkard Day? There would be alll kinds of protests from M.A.D.D., and arrests for open container and public intoxication, let alone D.U.I. checkpoints...I agree with Scepticon the Boulder issue of botching things up and doing nothing in so many cases and the poodle thing...

If marijuana were legal it would become "no big deal" and police could take care of more important crime. Alcohol related deaths far surpass those of pot smokers. Drunkeness, especially on our roads is a far more dangerous
problem...

This is a political issue! It should be legalized. If this had been an event with alcohol served, you would have had plenty of arrests to report.

Hey Sceptic, Fishermike had a good idea. Why not just drop boms (Bombs) on the crowd and go in and sort it out later? These potheads are no different from the potheads of the sixties at the huge sit-ins, except that they are now in public office attacking and destroying this Country from the inside out. Seems to me that this would be like removing the splinter before it becomes a painful, red, swollen, blistered, infected, pus-oozing sore.

To those of you having breakfast, Sorry!

I believe that POT SHOULD BE LEGALIZED!!!! The government can tax the heck out of it and funnel that money toward anit drug AND alcohol propaganda and toward the police to help bust meth, cocaine, heroin, crack useres. Plus that money could also be used to help people with rehab. I don't believe pot is the problem. I believe everything else is that includes alcohol!!!

The bottom line is, "How many people got hurt or hurt someone else?!?!" How do you think this would have gone if it was a bunch of college kids drinking booze in the park? I don't see what's the big deal..

The people involved in these "rallies" are looking for attention- or else they would just smoke openly all the time. What good would arrests do? Then they would just scream about "fascist pigs" and such nonsense. Keep them contained, and as long as they are not causing trouble, ignore them.

That being said, why not legalize pot? That would help with the drug trafficking and violence problem, increase profit crop opportunities, free up DEA agents to fight border violations, etc. And tax the snot out of it, like cigs and booze, for education and roads. It's like prohibition- people who do it will get it, so why shouldn't taxpayers get the piece of the pie instead of illegals and domestic criminals?

I find it odd that if you light a cigarette in Boulder you can get a ticket, yet you can attend a pot rally and smoke in public in peace. Interesting message they're sending - tobacco is deadly but narcotics are ok.
