Thats right, HR 333, the resolution to get the ball rolling on impeachment of Dick "Big Time" Cheney. as i was listening to it real time i couldn't believe my ears it was actually republican support that kept the bill alive as spineless democrats tried to shut it down. it almost seemed to be a defiant arrogance as more and more republican congress people approved it, a "bring it on" mentality that Clint Eastwood would be proud of. a mentality reminiscent of other republican leaders, one that has gotten them into hot water.
almost immediately after it was approved and the fact that it passed was understood. conservatives moved to "order" the bill, but to no avail, it's sent to the house judiciary committee as is.
given this happened only hours ago, so far the only statement i can find is this from a spokeswoman of judiciary committee.
"The committee has a very busy agenda - over the
next two weeks, we hope to pass a FISA bill, to vote on contempt of
Congress citations, pass legislation on prisoner re-entry, court
security and a variety of other very important items. We were surprised
that the minority was so ready to move forward with consideration of a
matter of such complexity as impeaching the Vice President. The
Chairman will discuss today's vote with the committee members but it
would seem evident that the committee staff should continue to
consider, as a preliminary matter, the many abuses of this
Administration, including the Vice President."
not too promising, sounds as if it will get lost in the mix. however I'm not upset if nothing else it will go down in the history books that the house had reasoning and support to impeach key members of this administration.
For those of you who want to contact the judiciary committee and request that they prove that this is a nation of law, that not even high ranking officials are above the law go to http://judiciary.house.gov to find out who to contact.

I'm a socialist, unborn baby killing, freedom & country hating, liberal! or am I? actually i am a mechanic, just a working class guy, looking out for my countries best interests. I see that laissez faire capitalism and democracy do not see eye to eye. I see that there has been an undeclared war waged on the American middle class. one where the super rich keep getting richer the poor get poorer, as the middle class disappears into a corporate feudalist system under the guise of freeing the market. i see that supply side economics is nothing more than grooming the American public to be consumers, not producers in the new world order. if you can't afford to be a consumer well sell yourself into slavery with your new Amero express card. does that make me a liberal? a socialist? fine so be it call it what you will. but do not tie me to the democratic leadership who has been all too willing to pander to the highest bidder while making it look like they are the opposition. at least the republicans will admit they are for hate, war and oppression. while the democrats only pretend to be against hate war and oppression.
