Thats right, HR 333, the resolution to get the ball rolling on impeachment of Dick "Big Time" Cheney. as i was listening to it real time i couldn't believe my ears it was actually republican support that kept the bill alive as spineless democrats tried to shut it down. it almost seemed to be a defiant arrogance as more and more republican congress  people approved it, a "bring it on" mentality that Clint Eastwood would be proud of. a mentality reminiscent of other republican leaders, one that has gotten them into hot water.

almost immediately after it was approved and the fact that it passed was understood. conservatives moved to "order" the bill, but to no avail, it's sent to the house judiciary committee as is.

given this happened only hours ago, so far the only statement i can find is this from a spokeswoman of judiciary committee.

"The committee has a very busy agenda - over the next two weeks, we hope to pass a FISA bill, to vote on contempt of Congress citations, pass legislation on prisoner re-entry, court security and a variety of other very important items. We were surprised that the minority was so ready to move forward with consideration of a matter of such complexity as impeaching the Vice President. The Chairman will discuss today's vote with the committee members but it would seem evident that the committee staff should continue to consider, as a preliminary matter, the many abuses of this Administration, including the Vice President."

not too promising, sounds as if it will get lost in the mix. however I'm not upset if nothing else it will go down in the history books that the house had reasoning and support to impeach key members of this administration.

For those of you who want to contact the judiciary committee and request that they prove that this is a nation of law, that not even high ranking officials are above the law  go to http://judiciary.house.gov to find out who to contact.

It is one thing for Congressman Kucinich to use this political ploy in his presidential campaign. It is another thing to do so on the floor of Congress. This guy has seen one too many UFOs. He is making Congress look like a bunch of "nut cases", which many already think is true.

actually, unless something happened this morning it passed, it went to the house judiciary committee if it gets through there, they find substance in any kucinch's 3 claims it becomes articles of impeachment.

if i were Cheney I'd watch that "executive privilege" and any statements that include "i do not recall"

Please pardon my ignorance, but exactly what are they impeaching the Vice President for?

Nice propaganda piece (for a high school kid), but I was looking for FACTS, not drama.

1. Saddam used WMD on his own people, it was proved in a court of law, and he was executed for it.
(It was in the news, you might have heard about it).

He was shooting at UN forces charged with keeping him from killing more innocent people and invading peaceful countries (like Kuwait, that one was in the news also).

2. Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad has stated, over and over, that his country is working towards the goal of gaining nuclear weapons in order to "wipe Israel, and all who support her, off of the face of the Earth".

We fall directly under the category of "all who support her, X.

Again, it would be nice if the arabs would sit down with us, smoke the proverbial peace pipe, and sing a few bars of Kum-by-yah, but that's not going to happen. The only thing these people understand is brute force.

X, the Muslims have hated us for a thousand years. This is not Bush's fault, it's not Cheney's fault.

Start with those facts, and let me know if you find any of your own.

Leave the propaganda to the weak-minded.

yeah, but when a US leader uses diplomacy with the middle east you're guys the first to talk poorly about them. Kucinich visited some of these places talked to them. You just chalk it up to "the Muslims hate us" well to be honest i would hate us too. everything we are facing now is because of our anti-communism crusade in the 50s, from installing saddam and the shaw, to sanctions in iraq credited for killing over a million slowly.

also at the time we invaded Iraq there were NO weapons. bush thought it was pretty funny "well those weapons have to be somewhere, not under here he he he" it was all a big joke, that one comment should be impeachable.

LOL! The man went to a terrorist nation (Syria) and badmouthed his own goverment!! Its Kucinich that should be drop kicked out of Congress!

Actually there were weapons, weapon platforms, and programs. Libs just refuse to acknowelge them. Illicit fighter planes, Skud missiles exceeding allowed ranges, Uranium and production equipment, contracts for All-Up-Rounds (Chinese/N.Koreans missile systems)

But I guess we must define how many of anything defines a "stockpile" or shelf life now. But now if we impeach anyone for this WMD thing, the line will start with Clinton and Cheney can file in right behind Hillary, Kerry, and a host of others.

THIS is why Democrats don't want to open this can of worms. The only reason they even allowed the munchkin to bring his issue, was so to get more donations from the radical idiots in this country that have drank the liberal kool-aid for far too long.

I'm a socialist, unborn baby killing, freedom & country hating, liberal! or am I? actually i am a mechanic, just a working class guy, looking out for my countries best interests. I see that laissez faire capitalism and democracy do not see eye to eye. I see that there has been an undeclared war waged on the American middle class. one where the super rich keep getting richer the poor get poorer, as the middle class disappears into a corporate feudalist system under the guise of freeing the market. i see that supply side economics is nothing more than grooming the American public to be consumers, not producers in the new world order. if you can't afford to be a consumer well sell yourself into slavery with your new Amero express card. does that make me a liberal? a socialist? fine so be it call it what you will. but do not tie me to the democratic leadership who has been all too willing to pander to the highest bidder while making it look like they are the opposition. at least the republicans will admit they are for hate, war and oppression. while the democrats only pretend to be against hate war and oppression.
