As we all know 'TIS THE SEASON for many things but in my eyes 'tis the season for thanks, remembering, a time to enjoy our loved ones and a shot at a new year looking us in the face. A season for Christmas trees and Christmas greetings as opposed to let's say .... a politically correct and generic holiday time, we are still One Nation Under God, and for those who believe the birth of a Saviour. A time for reflection, and a time for hope.  A time to set aside personal views and embrace the freedoms and liberties we enjoy, be thankful we as a nation are able to pray as we see fit, believe in what we choose, and make vocal our views and opinions.

A time to be thankful for and pray for the generations of heroes of this nation that have sacraficed their time, their families, and themselves in order for the rest of us to enjoy the freedoms we enjoy. A time to praise, pray for and thank the thousands of young men and women of this country who are currently risking their lives everyday by their own choice to allow us to continue to enjoy our day to day lives we sometimes take forgranted. It's also a time to hope the best for the folks in Iraq and Afghanistan that we are currently fighting for and fighting along side of seeking a taste of the freedoms we as Americans have enjoyed for years.

Take a moment out of your busy schedule during the coming days to say a prayer for our troops, or if you don't pray simply take a minute to put them in your thoughts. These are the Men and Women who continue to make sacrifices to allow us to live as we do. There are many , that once again will spend this blessed season away from their loved ones. Keep them in your thoughts and prayers as the days go by, it keeps them strong. I know first hand  you are in theirs.

Merry Christmas to all of you, your families and loved ones, and a Happy New Year. May they both bring to you  health, happiness, good fortune, peace and love.

See ya'll in the spring!

As another year passes since 2001 another day of rememberance passes with it. This is my second 9/11 I have spent in Iraq. For me the pain of that fateful day has not lessened any over the years and I doubt it ever will. I am currently in Iraq and just re-upped for a back to back tour, leaving me away from home almost 4 years since 2001.

My best friend just rolled in and we will do our last tour together. We talk at great length about why we do what we do and always come to the same conclusion.... so our children as well as others children hopefully won't have to somewhere down the line, and to try and make a difference in the lives of the folks here that just want to do what we do and thats just get up, go to work, educate our children and be left to live our lives with no fear. It seems a bit ideal but that's where we are at. We aren't the only ones, there are a whole bunch of us here on our own accord.

Folks like SLEEKAT we feel sorry for. The have never had to live in anything else but a free society. Unfortunately we as Warriors can not pick who we represent, but are reassured that for everyone of them there are 1000's that understand what freedom and rememberance of the the fallen, be it civilian or military, is all about.

With that said..... NEVER FORGET.  I know I won't. And I will never mind sitting through the Memorials. It's called respect.

I was able to access the site this a.m. (I think the communications warriors did this on purpose)so I figured I take the opprotunity to wish all of the Dads out there a Happy Fathers Day. Especially to those of you that have served this great nation in the past and more than likely know what it is like to be away from your children on this very special day. Today makes four of the last six I've been away from home. There are a great many of us here in theater celebrating this day away from our families continuing on with our day to day business without faulter. It's made up for somewhere though, for me each of my "Snuffies" wished me a Happy Fathers Day, and I the same to them, our way of taking care of each other. A handful of my guys have little ones at home, a couple celebrating their first and a couple that have yet to meet their sons or daughters. My 4 are grown but that doesn't lessen the amount I miss seeing them everyday. None the less we carry on with our mission with hopes this all never gets to "our backyard" as some would allow to happen. My children are safe for now as well as the children of those who do not support us or even wish ill upon us. This is what, by their own choosing, our great young Warriors do. It's what the great young Warriors of the past have done. Assure safety and freedom in "our backyard".
With that said.... HAPPY FATHERS DAY and God Bless you bunch of mugs. Keep up the fight!

First off, this will definately be my last post for quite some time. I've had a couple of days off finally since Nov. 1 and figured I'd stop by and check the site out. It just isn't what it was a year ago. With the exception of the conspicuous few, it's pretty dull. I was extremely happy to see the Boogster on a roll this past week.

I am very worried about the upcoming elections, especially since I will be deployed in country during the pre-coursor. I drank my coffee this a.m. watching the Communist Network News,(I'm living in a hotel @ the moment and had no choice) and couldn't believe the best Blitzer could do is interview retired pro basketball stars and talk about their choice of candidate. One for Hillary and one for Obama. Nice. Blitzer eluded to the color aspect of the race stating the fact that Obama seems to be the "African-American" choice. My feeling is he'll probably only get 1/2 the vote because, well ya'll know his background. By the way..... What is an African American???  I thought we were all in this together. Maybe not. I have faith in this nation and know deep inside we will do the right thing. I can't be the only one that sees this type of thing.

On the bright side of things deaths of U.S. soldiers in Iraq have decreased mostly due to some of the new state of the art gear we are being issued and the new equipment we have to work with. Just in my little end of things, my troopies were issued all brand new gear including weapons and the newest(to date) body armor. It's heavy but much more comfy than the last generation. And yes Boogy, it ALL MATCHES!!!!!  Along with that we have a whole slug of new security vehicles to convoy around in that are configured to repel IED blasts and also the capability to jam electronic freqs stopping the detonation of the same. Those insurgents are a crafty bunch but cannot keep up with our counter-intelligence.

I  suppose I could go on but I'll spare you. As we prep to step off in a few days, I've got my tasking , have spent the past 60 days going over intel and have briefed my snuffies on our job while we are deployed. It's good work and will benefit our forces as well as the Iraqis. Yes, there is alot of good things coming of this mess. The non-believers  need to steer clear of the liberal media.

You conspicous few keep up the fight, keep the faith, and rest assured this is a smart nation. I really think the majority will do the right thing come November. To those that are weak at heart  and short of spine sitting on your sitter and taking advantage of what the fighting few provide you. Enjoy, that's the right we have given you. As for me, I'll spend next weekend with my family , God willing it won't be the last and I certainly don't plan on it being that way, but as always we are all prepared for what ever comes our way. That's the beauty of having a family that supports your convictions. I'll talk to all of you down the line here at some time, and  touch base here if I can. If not, take care and enjoy what God has given you. Yankee's fan.... Keep up your good work, and please keep posting the news from the War Front from the folks there and the good work being done.  To the rest of you,Thank you all for your support!!!

Boogy..... drop me an email so I can send you my global e-address.

Just a quick note to ya'll out there in Blog Land, at least the one's that care anyhow!

This will more than likely be my last blog for a while. I'll certainly drop by for the next couple of months to throw a barb, but I doubt time will allow me to do anything of any substance. Not that I did anyway. LOL.

I can truly say that since January I have had alot of fun with ya'll, more with some than with others but that's what makes this life so great. I never saw myself doing this sort of thing because I hate my kids doing the Myspace thing. I can see why they are junkies. It kind of grows on you along with the folks you correspond with.

At any rate I check out this week to start  my migration back to the "litter-box" and would like to throw a word of  heart-felt thanks out there to all of the supporters of our military forces and let you know it is all GREATLY appreciated. It never ceases to amaze me how far a hug on your return home from a stranger goes. That in itself almost justifies what we do.

To all you CON cats out there,( there ain't many of us left!), man, It's been fun. Some of you have my email, drop me a line I'll send my new email and point ofo contact. You can pass it along to those you feel worthy. LOL!! Hell, I can always hit the delete button. Once again, thanks and I will certainly be in touch thru the year. I wish you all love and happiness thru the holidays with your families. Give-um all a hug for me.

Boogy...... Keep up the fight!

Sorry folks, I don't see the common ground here. I just read the article on the Columbus Day Parade in Denver. In my eyes, Mr. Morris needs to find a life. It scares me to think this is the calibre of individual, (small bore), teaching our future generation. My dear God, where are we going as a society? Where are we going as a Nation?

I find it hard to believe that someone just does not have anymore on their mind than to organize something as inane as this protest. I wish that's all I had to think about  in my life!!! My how sweet life would be. I am sure any one of us would trade.

I'll not rant on this, I don't care to expel the energy today. I need to organize a lawn mowing protest. May be next year someone will organize against the ST.PADDIES Day parade. Yes it is Paddy. If he hadn't chased all the bloody snakes from Ireland we most likely wouldn't have any here. Damn Him!!!!

I'm Irish by the way!!!! LOL

I also wear a uniform on a regular basis and have yet to find it tighten around my neck. Maybe it's just me?

This picture has drawn a lot of comments from readers of the Nashville paper, The Tennessean, like the one below:

Dear Tennessean:

The Tennessean's April 5 photograph of young Christian Golczynski accepting the American flag from Marine Lt. Col. Ric Thompson is one of the most moving and emotion provoking images I have ever seen.

I attended funeral services for Christian's father, Staff Sergeant Marcus Golczynski, on April 4, along with my six year-old son, dozens of Marines, and several hundred others who came to pay tribute to this fallen hero.

As one would expect, many of your readers were touched by this incredible picture. On April 9 you published two letters from those who have used this image as a basis to criticize President Bush and the war in Iraq. These writers should know that Staff Sergeant Golczynski had previously served one full tour in Iraq. He wrote to his family, shortly before his death on March 27, 2007 that he had "...volunteered to do this a second time due to our deep desire to finish the job we started. We fight and sometimes die so our families don't have to." Tragically, Staff Sergeant Golczynski had only two weeks remaining on his second tour. I look at the photograph of Christian every day. It is displayed prominently in our home. Our hearts ache for Christian and for all those who have lost loved ones in this controversial conflict. Our nation is at a historical crossroads. Do we call an end to the struggle in Iraq or press on? Staff Sergeant Golczynski eloquently told his son how he felt about giving up. Perhaps there is a lesson for all of us in this man's life and the choices he made. He was undeniably a man of tremendous courage and conviction. America must now choose whether to complete th e job. When I look at the face of Christian Golczynski, I am reminded that doing what is right is not always easy and doing what is easy is not always right. Christian's dad knew that too.

James Drescher Franklin, TN

"I want all of you to be safe. And please don't feel bad for us. We are warriors. And as warriors have done before us, we joined this organization and are following orders because we believe that what we are doing is right. Many of us have volunteered to do this a second time due to our deep desire to finish the job we started. We fight and sometimes die so that our families don't have to. Stand beside us. Because we would do it for you. Becasue it is our unity that has enabled us to prosper as a nation." Staff Sergeant Marcus Golczynski, written a week before he was killed in action in Iraq.

             ------------------------------------------------------

This young Man is the Son of a True Hero and I hope he is never led to believe anything less. This Marine exemplifies the feelings of the mass majority of our warriors on the ground.

I'm sure the liberal minds among us will find room to find fault in the words of this Man.

I've been floating around reading and re-reading some of the most recent posts concerning current world affairs, most posted ( or cut and pasted) by the same individual, and most on the same beat down subject.

On this little jaunt I stumbled across one of this individuals comments concerning a number of those of us that seem to think along the same lines. As he pointed out a few personalities he mentioned ' Two Braggarts, War heroes who know it all.'

Admittedly this "pack" tends to stand by their convictions no matter what, and alot of times it gets ugly, myself no exception. What I can't seem to find anywhere one of the "pack" proclaiming to be a War Hero. I can find countless times where any number of us mention our service to our Country in many of the recent conflicts, but nary a proclomation of Heroism.

Now maybe it's just me but I find this  comment  damn  insulting. One of the two you refer to may be me. It could be any 2 of the handful of those of us on the "same page of music."   The proper referral would be VETERAN. And I will take the liberty of speaking for all, Damn proud VETS. Proud of our service, proud of our accomplishments, proud of the Country we live in.

I don't care to jump on the multiple screen name wagon because frankly I find it funny. What I will say is it's pretty spooky the similarities two individuals on this site have in their postings. Maybe it's just coincedence, I don't care. I'm going to refrain from throwing any names out here. The individual I am referring to knows who they are.

I don't care to have you respond to this my friend, in all of your life you'll never be able to justify a statement as you have made. You've not walked in our shoes, you have no idea of the pride involved, and if one of us brags maybe we earned the right. Maybe someday in your meager little world you'll  get out of your back yard and do something worthwhile other than riding on the shirt tail of others. Maybe. My belief is you'll probably do better staying in you cut and paste world. It's safe there.

I recieved this email from a very good Buddy and fellow Patriot of mine.  My "Snuffies" and I went thru this with Starbucks in '05 while deployed. One of them wrote to the shop in his hometown and got basically the same reaction. I find it sad.

I  always admired this Man.

Reagan's Last Words
I don't know whether or not you watched the memorial service for Ronald Reagan , but if you did, you probably noticed that Bill and Hillary were both dozing off.

President Ronald Reagan, who never missed a chance for a good one-liner, raised his head out of his casket and said...

"I see the Clintons are finally
sleeping together."

I've just found my self a victim of a very hot topic these days on this site, Multiple screen names. Seems as though a visiting family member has taken the liberty of using my computer to access this site under the screen name Enigma. I realized this a few minutes ago when I finished postiing a comment on spinmaster mikes Bush blog. I will take credit for the post and apologize for it being under Enigmas screen. Seems as though this individual was up before me today. I paid no attention to the sign in because I did not sign out last evening and thought I had just picked up where I left off.

I had a discussion  with this young fellow about the whole matter and have resolved the situation. I apologize to any one who may have been offended and assure you enigma is gone, along with my computer being locked.

This is not my way of doing buisness and will not allow it in my home.

I ask MarcS to please disable this screen name if possilble.

UNDECLARING MY CITIZENSHIP

Becoming Illegal (From a  ?  resident to his senator)

The  Honorable ( Pick a name)
Senate Office Building
309 Hart
Washington DC,  20510

Dear Senator ???????,

As a native (Pick a State) and excellent customer of the Internal Revenue
Service, I am writing to ask for your assistance. I have contacted the
Department of Homeland Security in an effort to determine the process
for becoming an illegal alien and they referred me to you.

My primary reason for wishing to change my status from U.S. Citizen to
illegal alien stem from the bill which was recently passed by the Senate
and  for which you voted. If my understanding of this bill's provisions
is accurate, as an illegal alien who has been in the United  States for
five years, all I need to do  to become a citizen is to pay a $2,000
fine and no income taxes for three of the last five years. I know a good
deal when I see one and I am anxious to get the process started before
everyone figures it out.

Simply put, those of us who have been here legally have had to pay taxes
every year so I'm excited about the prospect of avoiding two years of
taxes in return for paying a $2,000 fine. Is there any way that I can
apply to be illegal retroactively? This would yield an excellent result
for me and my family because we paid heavy taxes in 2004 and 2005.

Additionally, as an illegal alien I could begin using  the local
emergency room as my primary health care provider. Once I have stopped
paying premiums for medical insurance, my accountant figures I could
save almost $10,000 a year.

Another benefit in gaining illegal status would be that my daughter
would receive preferential treatment relative to her law school
applications, as well as "in-state" tuition rates for many colleges
throughout the United States for my son.

Lastly, I understand that illegal status would relieve me of the burden
of renewing my driver's license and making those burdensome car
insurance premiums. This is very important to me given that I still have
college age  children driving my car.

If you would provide me with an outline of the process to become illegal
(retroactively if possible) and copies of the necessary forms, I would
be most appreciative.

Thank you for your  assistance.

Your Loyal Constituent,

(Your name here)

Not that anyone being attacked by a dog is a good thing, but it was relieving to see it was not a Pit Bull as the biter this time.

Even at that the Bullys made the news in the report on the Labrador that attacked the boy up Denver way and was shot by the Police. I believe the comment made by the dog owner was the Lab was chosen because they felt safer having the Lab as opposed to a Pit or a Rottweiller.

This is a subject as of late,(PITBULLS),  that has been beaten pretty hard, and I don't care to beat it any more.  I guess what I am eluding to is the Bullys get attention whether or not they are involved. Bad deal.

I was a Lab owner for a long time and had issues with all of them being aggressive. In the other respect I have had the Bullys for the past 10 years without a single problem. I hope at some time this magnificent breed of dog gets the respect it's due.

The infamous Monika Lewinsky will campaign for Hillary Clinton during the latters' recently announced Presidential bid. In a classic bury the hatchet maneuver the Clinton campaign will "forgive and forget"in an attempt to show solidarity among women voters in 2008.

Speaking to reporters in an undisclosed location near D.C.,Lewinski confirmed the development saying she looked forward to rejoining the political process.

   "I can't wait," She smiled.

"Like or not she's a celebrity and we can use all the help we can get," said a Clinton aide.

As the new year approachs and this seems to be a year for change(?) I figured I'd change my BIO. Much more exciting than sorting my socks. Again. So let's see.... Chief Petty Officer in the Seabees(RES).Proud Iraqi Freedom Vet.(3 tours, voluntary), and have spent more time in a hooch in Iraq than in my own home since 2004. I'm a cranky, miserable, politically incorrect Father of 4 wonderful kids, 5 pit bulls, a ferret and a chihuahua. My creatures are my kids too! Married to the best woman in the world who has been my driving force for the past 25 years and I will go to the grave for what is mine. Believe in the war and believe GWB made the right decision and stuck by it, can't hate a guy for that. Firmly believe that on a whole the Iraqi people are good people having had the pleasure to interact with quite a few. Am I happy with the election? Not at lberty to say. Will we survive as the best and greatest nation in the world? Absolutely. The zombies will be kept at bay Future plans for the coming year is to get back home and catch up on the year and a half I have been gone, maybe ride my bicycle around the world,(not really), and stay alive one more year! That's it, that's all there is. God bless our Troops and bring them home alive and Victorious. SEMPER GUMBY, DAWG
