Palin To Appear On SNL?

Posted by Brian Montopoli

As Saturday Night Live viewers well know, Tina Fey's much-talked-about impression of GOP vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin has not been kind to the Alaska governor. It may even have played a role in fixing the public perception of the candidate, which, at least until last week's vice presidential debate, has largely been on the decline since she exploded onto the national scene.

Now the Chicago Sun-Times reports that Palin may appear on Saturday Night Live herself, potentially to make fun of Fey's American Express commercials. Bill Zwecker reports that while some McCain staffers want Palin to simply keep joking about Fey's impression on the campaign trail – she wrote "I'm not Tina Fey" on one backer's cell phone – others believe it is important that she appear on the show herself.

Palin would be far from the first candidate to appear on SNL after an unflattering portrayal. Earlier this year, Hillary Clinton appeared on the show standing next to an identically-dressed Amy Poehler, who had mockingly portrayed her, presumably to show she is in on the joke.

----------------------------

So what do you think?  Should Sarah Palin appear on Saturday Night Live?  Why or why not?

I would love to see Sarah impersonate BARBARA WALTERS......probably beating on a defenseless child.......that made her sick........that was truely unexpected and I never would have imagine OLD WALTERS......saying something so atrocheous of an innocent child..BUT WHAT CAN ONE EXPECT OF PEOPLE supporting BERACKO OBAMA.....when he's telling his own daughters...he doesn't want them "punished with a baby"........HE TRULY IS A PUNISHMENT to his own......maybe that's why granny took care of him..........dirtbag!

It's been so long since I've watched Saturday Night Live, I really am clueless on this. I think that her getting out there in an informal setting and being able to just talk and be herself would be good. If I remember correctly, Saturday Night Live has a bunch of goofy comedy thing on it. It would be great to see the relaxed and jovial side of Sarah Palin.

America needs to get their head outta their butts! Tina Fey is great doing the Palin thing. Palin has a great sense of humor and is a wonderful human being.

I see nothing wrong with her doing this. The mainstream media looks for every little fault and frankly I am tired of the picking on her. It gets old quick.

that'd be funny...something different. Tina Fey's really wearing it out, to the point it's not too funny. However, both, would be funny

Now if only SNL could stand behind their work! They were forced to take down the parody of Franks, Dodd, and Democrats and the housing issue! Its all over the internet still, but seems the network had to police the fair and balance out of SNL!

I'm waiting to hear Palin growl like the pit bull that she aspires to be. Has she started walking on all "fours" yet?

But Candy, she was the one that talked about being a Pit Bull wasn't she? Her words not mine.

BTW, she didn't mention if she would be a female or male, but I assumed that the lipstick thing indicated that the wanted to be viewed as a female pit bull. Grrrr.....

Actually she has sunk her teeth square into the backside of the Obama campaign, and locked her jaws there buddy! SO HARD that the Obama camp is desperately trying to shake her off, and she is now getting former stronghold Democrat Feminist to come join her fight!

You are looking at a future President, who knows how to put the media in their place, and is so rooted in a CORE VALUE SYSTEM that Democrats have no dog in the fight big enough to rock her! Be afraid! Be VERY afraid!

Abunai, you poor soul.....things aren't looking good are they.....terrible economy, etc.

But why would Palin find Obama's "backside" attractive enough to "sink her teeth into" it? Can't she find something more constructive to do? I guess that when you are lacking ideas all that there is to do is to attack.

If she is making friends nationally it is probably a good thing because the most recent opinion polls indicate that her popularity back in Alaska is waning.

I certainly hope that Democrats aren't harboring a dog to fight her. After all, dog fighting is against the law, but obviously laws and rules are ignored by some folks. Palin demonstrated that during the "debate" when she refused to answer the questions of the moderator.

I think it would be awesome Amy, and I sincerely hope it is true!

That would be an SNL I would definitely watch!

Governor Palin has a great sense of humor, and her appearance on SNL would most likely be the best one ever by any candidate!

It could very well be thier most watched show in thier history!

Sarah should be there by all means. Plenty of free exposure, go for broke. Unlike horse races, in politics it's either first and the win or you don't place, period !
