I would like to provide an update to my job searching.  Well, i am still looking since late Janurary, it is tough when you walk in to a place to fill out an application and there is a real big stack of applications, it is weird when you go in to the cheaha career center and the people know you there by name!  So i have people i know helping me look for jobs and things might change soon hopefully next week.  God has a plan for me and the waiting game might me part of his plan!  My resume is in my photos and Well have a good day.

May I make a suggestion ? First of all correct your grammer. I assume you have spell check on your computer I would use it. (If you are applying on line). If you are applying in person, before turning in the application, check the spelling as well.

Let me ask some questions (1) What type of job are you applying for? (2) What are your qualifications ? (3) What is your pay scale limit ? Without the answers to any of these questions who can help you out ?

Barcncpt44- Let me assure you that you are not the only one having issues. My brother graduated with a degree in graphic design over a year ago and still has not found a job in his field. It is a terrible feeling to know that you've gone to college for four and a half years only to find that even though you've got the education, you don't have the experience (which is why a lot of people don't get hired for specific jobs.)

My suggestion for you is to visit every job and career-related website you can find. Go to Monster.com, the Jefferson County Personnel Board website, the Birmingham Chamber's website, and I could go on. You have to keep trying. You cannot be (legally) discriminated against because you are autistic. I teach autistic children and all of them are very bright and capable of exceptional work. I see in your profile that you like roads, trains, and traffic lights- have you tried applying with DOT? I bet you could get on there with your enthusiasm! Keep trying!!

And bowler1, please don't take this the wrong way, but it's spelled "grammar". Make sure that when you correct someone, that you are correct as well! And this is spoken in love!!!

Go Katie, well said! I pray that Nathan finds the right kind of job for him that makes him happy and I respect him to TRY to find a job. That is more than some people are doing. While I work, they sit home and collect a check! He at least is TRYING.
Good Luck Nathan!!!!

suggestion: find a lower paying job first, while you find the one you want... perhaps you've already done that.
