A pro-family advocate is outraged that a California public school teacher would pass out homosexual pledge cards to her kindergarten students.

pro homosexual pledge cardThe pledge cards were produced by the Gay, Lesbian and Straight Education Network, or GLSEN, and featured oaths that students would not use "anti-lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender language or slurs," that students would intervene on behalf of homosexual students when possible, and that they would actively support safer schools efforts.

Tara Miller is a kindergarten teacher at Faith Ringgold School of Arts and Science in Hayward, California. She passed out the pledge cards to her students, which she then asked them to sign. Peter LaBarbera, the president of Americans for Truth about Homosexuality, is outraged at Miller's actions.

"First of all, why is homosexuality as an issue being raised at all in kindergarten? These are students who don't even know what sex is yet, and this teacher is talking to them about homosexuality," he contends. "This is an abuse of these students' minds, and it's just wrong."

According to a report on FoxNews.com, one parent was angry when she found her child's signature on the pledge card. LaBarbera believes this instance highlights the real agenda of the homosexual movement.

"This is just bizarre, and it shows how the teachers with their radical sexual agenda want to start early to reprogram these kids' minds. They want to undermine the faith teachings that the kids have at home; this is part of a plan," he suggests. "To me, this is like Hitler with Nazi Germany and the Soviets wanting to get to the youth and change the kids by getting to them at a very young age."

In the same report on FoxNews.com, a spokesperson for the school agreed that the pledge was inappropriate for the kindergarten students and said that the pledges were meant for middle school and high school students.

While I will admit that kindergardners are too young for that and that is wrong I am disgusted by the fact that Homophobics are the new racists. Gay marriage should be a non-issue but for some reason it is.

I would not want my granddaughter who is 5 be forced to sign a card like that. Kids will sign anything that their teachers tell them to. I have no issue with them being taught to accept people. My question is why didn't she include ethnic origins, people who like to learn, religion and the like. Why just gays. I don't have an issue with gays (I had a white uncle that was beaten to death by 2 African-Americans because he was gay). But I really don't like the fact that gays feel that they are special because of their sexual preference. What seperates them from any sexual choice be it a foot fetish and the long list.

I don't think being against gay marriage is homophobic. Many liberal politicians still think the ramifications of gay marriage are too uncertain, including John Edwards, and even Obama, who stated this week when asked about Prop. 8, that he was not fully supporting the gay marriage laws. I have actually never spoken against gay marriage, but it seems to me that this kind of underhanded liberal indoctrination at the schools will have the opposite effect- as we have seen in this election, shoving differences down people's throats as being special, somehow, and deserving of special treatment, just alienates people.

So straight kids are excluded?

Straight jokes ain't as funny as the queer ones...where's the fun in that?

Kids are gonna pick on each other no matter what, that's what natural kids do.

Amazing how the liberal agenda sets the tone for what's right or wrong in our young kids.

Not me Dizzee! Some folks just need folks like us to blame for their own ability to be offended. I want them to know I'm here for them if they need me...

Is that weird?....lol

Really Garage, really. The LIBERAL agenda is telling our kids what's right and wrong. The conservative agenda absolutly is not saying that if you are gay you are diseased, don't deserve the same rights as everybody else and will burn in hell for being so. You're right, the conservatives have never told people what is right and what is wrong using a certain 2000+ year old book as their basis.... right. It's ok, I know your not racist, that's passe, your homophobic, that's different. Conservatives wouldn't be getting those labels and names if they just learned to accept people for who they are. You fear what's different, that's normal, but you don't have to ban their happiness because of it.

Having kindergartners sign a pledge, munky? How is that right? What exactly will be considered offensive? Why start the confusion in kindergarten? Personally, I don't care if guys wanna weiner ride one another...don't care, and neither do kids at 5, 6 or 7 years old.

Is there a handbook on what's offensive?
This cr@p never ends.

"Hey Joey, doesn't Ralphy have nice ears?"
What chapter of the handbook will explain "ear-stretchin"....

I don't agree with all the "burnin' in hell" stuff...just think kids don't need all that cr@p at such an early age.
When they get older and little jaminjim stands without wrinkles...and the dog's hiding in the corner...Mom and Dad should be the ones to talk to Junior....
The only "pledge" that belongs in school, is the "Pledge of Alligence"

Just "stop poundin' it down our throats"...chapter 4, page 325....do not say...

Well, that I agree with which I already stated. I do believe that this kind of stuff should not be forced on kindergarnders. But, it never hurts at a young age to teach your kids words they should not say because they are bad or offensive. It doesn't matter what age they are at, there is a good chance they will be exposed to certain words you don't want them knowing. through elementary school anytime I saw or heard a new "bad" word my parents would tell me i wasn't allowed to use it because it was wrong. yes, this goes too far but I still feel the basic lesson it's trying to teach, a lesson of tollerance, needs to start at an early age. it's the younger years that kids pick up stuff like intollerance, trust me. and take what I say with a grain of salt because I am completly against censorship, but there are still certain words and phrases that bother me when I see young children using them.

School is the way people teach and it is often liberal. I got the lowest grade ever, a C because I stated that I really could not judge what blacks were going through because I did not live in an area that had blacks. It is just the flavor of the time. Teachers should teach what they have been hired to teach not their views. Kids will believe anything and wil do anything the teacher says and it takes alot for a kid to say no.

Why is this cr@p even in a kindergarden class much less s secondary school. This has nothing to do with learning to read and write and math.

Give the libs an inch and they will twist the way a parent raises their kids. There is no need for this junk at the lower levels of school, the kids just aren't really ready to handel this stuff.

toadie you are right. I am sure am not the only person that thought teachers were great and to have something like this brought out for 5 year olds, most who have no clue what sex is let alone what a gay is it is just beyond belief. I can just see a 5 year old asking what a gay is and being told it is a person that likes the same sex. Oh so they must be gay because their best friend is the same sex, if they understand that and if they are given that a boy loves another boy then they are sure that they are gay.

grambear, It is true not all libs think this way, but history has it that most of these people are libs themselves. Same goes for conservatives-for the most part are anti special treatment which the gays want.
