Global Warming; fact or fiction?

The Global Warning Conspiracy -- Douglas ChickI don’t know if global warming is true or not, but it sure looks like a whole lot of ice is melting, and I’m confused to why. Is it gas emissions causing the melt down, or just time for the earth to shed its skin? In other words, is God causing the ice to melt or man? I think if it is God melting all the ice then there is really nothing we can do about it, so I’m going to keep my SUV and have a second gas tank added. However, if man is the culprit, a whole lot of politicians and oil lobbyist better think about faking their death’s like Ken Lay of Enron. And all those companies and people moving to that wonderland paradise being built in the United Emirates better make way for more people, and make the walls on their artificial islands high, real high, higher than an Air Craft Carrier.

Still, many people believe that Global Warming is a lie made up by the Liberals because they want everyone to give up their guns and big cars so we can all be socialist. While others believe that George Bush is responsible for melting all the ice so he and his buddies can get to all the oil beneath the ice. Truth or not, do you believe the ice is melting?

Yes it melts but when it gets cold the water freezes again. How did the ice age 11,000 years ago melt back without humans driving their SUVs? Think people.

HAARP- High Frequency Active Auroral Research Program would explain everything. It has the ability to cause total disruption in communications over large portions of the earth, missile or aircraft destruction, deflection or confusion, weather modification by altering solar absorption, also altering composition of the atmosphere...it also has the ability to create nuclear size like explosions without radiation. I believe this is the weapon of mass destruction Bush has been trying to get his hands on!

But to answer your question, yes the ice is melting due to the "experiments" they are conducting with HAARP, a big gigantic heater which can control weather/atmosphere, communications, and handle attacking and defending for or against our planet and it's very beings.

I agree. It's just the earth doing it's thing. It's that time people. There earth will provide more ice as time moves on . Liberal loons, like Al gore, need to find another "guilt tripping" project to cry about! This one is a joke.

Many of us see that certain political groups are using the fear of global warming as a way of rallying political support for themselves. These politicians seek to insight fear of global warming in hopes that people will answer the call to support them ...and their other political views.
Unfortunately, now that the debate has been manipulated for political gain, a "knee jerk" reaction is emerging against the theory. The result is people who might otherwise be open to improving the care of our Earth become very cynical because they see the issue being politicized so aggressively.
Its OK to not support the other political agendas of the main proponents of global warming theories, yet still agree that its happening....
I certainly agree that it is.

People give themselves too much credit. I don't think we're capable of disrupting the way the Earth functions on such a grande scale.

Where ice melts, it freezes elsewhere.

Yeah, we couldn't possibly destroy the planet... I mean, look around.....???.....
How ridiculous are all these scientists that dedicate thier ENTIRE lives formulating a conspiracy. I know better; I'm not gonna fall for that.

Keep on drinkin that KoolAid, son

Destroy it like the Death Star did Leah's home planet? No.

Can we temporarily ruin parts of it with polution? Absolutely.

Global Warming theorists slip in a little bit of poison (lies) in with some truth to try to get you to agree with them.

Polution is horrible, but global warming is just a theory.

I'm out of sugar, so no koolaid tonight, gramps.

Well, I think we do agree.
Global warming will temporaraly ruin the planet, indeed. It will recover, surely. (unless we have an all-out Nuke fest).

Global warming theorists do not slip the poison in, that is the job of the politician (read my prior post).

Global warming cannot be proven any more than evolution or continental drift.

Add some Splenda, sweets...tastes just like real sugar.

Splenda is bad for you.

You say this:

Pollution = Global Warming. You think they're the same. I'm saying they are not. Pollution we can see, cause, fix. Global Warming (as it's defined in today's media) does not exist. At the root of the words, however, I do beleive the Earth may go through some cycles.

100% agree you can't prove evo, and global warming.

Global warming? what a great idea! this will only take a 1000 years this time to prove the democrats are full of sht.

Thats deep Boog.
Excellent example of a knee jerk reaction that has nothing to do with the science of the theory.

And we all know these scientist who dedicate their lives to the study of GW do it for no other reason than to better mankind, right? They don’t do it for the money. What humanitarians!

What about the scientist who don’t dedicate their lives to these studies or the ones who are paid find the opposite findings of these, oh so dedicated scientists, who get PAID THROUGH THE NOSE to do these studies? They are wrong right? Your co2 is so insignificant to what a moose can produce… your so off.

So cynical Skeptic. There are people who care, and know whats goin on. Where do you suppose the conspiracy theorists are obtaining their info??...from an unbiased source, I think not. It wasn't long ago that many were trying to cover up the idea of global warming.

We could get into a pissing match about CO2 production from the belching moose, or the obsurd amount of CO2 and methane from domestic cattle, or from my pick-up... But that doesn't matter. (Although your argument about CO2 *production* is much different from your previous position).
The point I am making (and is evidenced by some replies to this blog) is that people are discounting the whole theory due to their political beliefs. I dont care for Al Gore either, but I certainly believe that creating significant changes to the atmosphere can have serious consequences. I guess we can wait for the ice caps to completely melt before we "prove" this theory.

Splenda flavored green Kool-Aid at my house tonight. Happy St Pats!

So you just deny all studies or theories that don’t agree with yours. Are you denying all together that there are other forces on earth that generate co2 besides humans? The ice caps will most likely freeze down to Central America before they melt completely. The truth is you and I will not even live long enough to see who is right or wrong.

Oh Skeptic Skeptic.... READ MY POSTS. I'm not denying anything. I fully aknowledged other sources of CO2. The FACT remains that man - made CO2 production is quite significant (there are MANY more SUVs than moose, ya know)
I know there are other theories regarding global warming, I just happen to think they are bologna and quite bias (from a political and scientific view).... hence my OPINION on global warming.
I really think we will see the ice caps melt (more) significantly very soon. Global warming is not evenly spread, and the arctic ice is gonna be the first to go.
Truth is, its begun.
