I don't think people are supporting Obama because he is a black man. Sure , he is smart ,charismatic and a bright politician but sorry to disappoint, it's not because of his pigment. Maybe he gets a good number of votes due to it, but that wasn't the crushing reason for his upset of Hillary. Like him or not, the guy is very very impressive. His delivery has been remarkable over the past year. But all of those reasons still would not (out of no where) sling shotted him beyond one of the most powerful politically machines we have ever witness- the Clintons.

No way folks , this was much larger. The reason Obama was successful in overthrowing "Clinton" was clearly due to something else. In 2004, after the Kerry lost, Move on .com and the radical loony left vowed they would own the Democratic party in 08 !They made true on their goal! Today, they are one of Obama's strongest financial and political supporters. "Move on" also support many other radical groups that are also pro-Obama. It intrigues me ,as well, that Obama strongest support appears to be those who hold "quiet hatred" towards their own country. (A country ,mind you, that gives them freedom like no other.)

It's clear Obama supporters know that he is the best candidate that can make the U.S. A . weaker in the eyes of the world. That's what his supporters want! Call it guilt or misguided views that are based on MTV, Hollywood and foreigners (quietly and politely) who would love to see another 911 in America. In the last 7 years ,after 911, it has become a transparent phenomenon. What ever is the cause, higher minds must prevail . Lastly before I leave you, The the top 10 groups supporting Obama:

1. White guilt
2.Yong white followers of idiotic rap music.
3. Bush Haters
4. American Haters
5. Elitist Hollywood Loons
6. 60 years old who want to relive their radical 60s years.
7.  people who ignore  the fact that political correctness has gone a muck.
8.  People who think Obama may give them something for free.
9. David Lettermen and his entire audience!
10 Americans who hate America!

Take that David letterman! You America hater!!!

No "hate" here. Take a closer look at Obama's core support and backers? All I ask is that you do the research, sir....

"maybe some of us just don't want 4 more years of Republican leadership that has got us nowhere!"

Where do you want to go? Sir, simply waking up "american" is not enough. You, like many Americans, think because you wake up american that the world beyond us(other countries) really can't affect you. That's foolishness. It takes hard work for our leadership to keep us free and our interest secured.

-You might think Bush owes you because you are an American(which is ok) but the reality is THE WORLD DOES NOT FEEL THEY owe you anything and will not guarantee you freedom. It is the american leadership that bullet proofs your freedom (sometimes by any means necessary).

- I believe this is what George Bush attempted to do. Iran and countries like them could care less about you waking up "American" and will make any type of "international play" they can to destroy those wonderful american wake ups you have. That ,sir , is our american reality.

-I think ,frankly, you have been blinded by liberal politics that suggest that being part of the free world is a given and you are entitled to it. It's not.

-What other countries do or not do will effect you and your family and the American people-like it or not. Oil prices is not a result of the Bush Administration. I didn't see the dominated democratic congress doing any thing either. They, actually ,have more control about higher oil prices than the president. Our world is much more intric

They, actually ,have more control about higher oil prices than the president. Our world is much more intricate and complicated than many liberals would like for you to believe.

-Waking up American does not mean you are immune to a chaotic world. It takes hard international "give AND TAKE " to keep you free in a mostly "none free" world .You guys, however, would rather listen to comedian loons like David lettermen........

dre...I am not going to list any reasons for liking Obama..I feel this thread is only here to allow republican haters to rant at Democrats allowing for the release of pent up anger...Why walk into a burning building? It is pointless

There's an old saying.."If ya keep doing what you've been doing, you will only get what you've been gettin"

Myself, I am tired of the last 8 years. Gas has nearly tripled, the economy is in the toilet, the military is stretched to the breaking point, the moral of the people is so low, ants spit on us, and I really think no matter who was on the ticket, white, black, yellow, red, would stand a better chance then a Republican, unless God was a Republican.

Well said, dre...unfortunately you're completely wasting your breath with that "karlie" moron. Some folks don't have the mental capacity to process complex thoughts.

As for you, Mike, please allow me to give you my opinion on some of the concerns you've raised:

-The Oval Office is not (completely) to blame for the high gas prices, it's a supply and demand thing (have you read about the riots in England, France, Japan, Spain, and Germany? Bush isn't President of ANY of those Countries-I checked). You may have noticed that the price of gas doubled in the last 2 years (when the dems took over congress) not in the 6 years prior. There is a really good, FACT FILLED article in today's Rocky Mountain News by George Will (page 39). Read it and share your opinion, would you?

-The President, regardless of his political affiliation, does not have the ability to steer the economy. If he did, Bush would jump-start the economy and say that it was McCaon's idea, don't you think? One thing that history has proven, over and over and over: Higher taxes (A.K.A. "The Democrat Solution") DO NOT HELP THE ECONOMY. Obama WILL raise taxes.

-The military is not nearly as stretched as it was during the Clinton years. I was actually there, as opposed to sitting at home getting brainwashed by Dan Blather, so you guys will be completely wasting your time if you try to argue this point with me. Obama has vowed to all but disband our military, FYI.

-I don't know to whom you're referring to when you speak of low morale. If you spend a lot of time listning to the Dims, you will be

-I don't know to whom you're referring to when you speak of low morale. If you spend a lot of time listning to the Dims, you will be depressed. It's the way they operate. We Republicans are proud of our Country, and always have been. BTW it's no coincidence that suicide rates are highest in areas controlled by liberals.

-God IS a Republican. That one's a no-brainer.

Well said Gjflash and you are right about trying to persuade these folks.

It's very unfortunate that FM and others blame low morale on Bush when their very own party has shown nothing but cowardliness and inertia concerning a changing world and its global economy. We must begin to tap some of our own resources.There is no walking away from that.

Yes, gas prices suck right now, but why hasn't the controlled democratic party done anything about it? Not one meaningful hearing or has been cast by them to lower gas prices. Not one! Bush does not have their hands tied up. They have the power to do something but...why wont they?? It may be one of three reasons:(or all 3)

1. The democratic controlled Congress support the increasing oil prices.
2. The Democratic controlled Congress is afraid to act, because they too are benefiting from 4$ a gallon.
3. They, like the president, really have no control over it.

You pick one FM ,but neither choice will make you any happier.

FM , please force yourself to see the world beyond the fish bowl,before it's too late....

p.s.
I have also noticed that liberals are not very original in their arguments. They have used many conservative talking points in an attempt to reverse them for their own purpose. McCain must expose the unoriginal and disingenuous tactic.

I thought this was interesting, and enlightening for people who want to know more. And then again, some people don't want to know more. Whatever, here it is...

Remember the election in 2006? Thought you might like to read the following:

A little over two years ago:
1) Consumer confidence stood at a 2 1/2 year high;
2) Regular gasoline sold for $2.19 a gallon;
3) The unemployment rate was 4.5%.

Since voting in a Democratic Congress in 2006 we have seen:
1) Consumer confidence plummet;
2) The cost of regular gasoline soar to over $3.50 a gallon;
3) Unemployment is up to 5% (a 10% increase);
4) American households have seen $2.3 trillion in equity value evaporate (stock and mutual fund losses);
5) Americans have seen their home equity drop by $1.2 trillion dollars;
6) 1% of American homes are in foreclosure.

America voted for change in 2006, and we got it!
Remember, it's Congress that makes law not the President.
He has to work with what's handed to him.

That doesn't mean I don't think Republicans have been spending like drunken whores- They have, and it needs to stop. But it won't stop if we have a Dem in the White House, and that's just the truth.

Another little fact chart on taxation- I can't help it!

Taxes...Whether Democrat or a Republican you will find these statistics enlightening and amazing.

www.taxfoundation.org/publications/show/151.html

Taxes under Clinton Taxes under Bush 2008
Single making 30K - tax $8,400 Single making 30K - tax $4,500
Single making 50K - tax $14,000 Single making 50K - tax $12,500
Single making 75K - tax $23,250 Single making 75K - tax $18,750
Married making 60K - tax $16,800 Married making 60K- tax $9,000
Married making 75K - tax $21,000 Married making 75K - tax $18,750
Married making 125K - tax $38,750 Married making 125K - tax $31,250

Both democratic candidates will return to the higher tax rates
It is amazing how many people that fall into the categories above think Bush is screwing them and Bill Clinton was the greatest
President ever. If Obama or Hillary are elected, they both say they will repeal the Bush tax cuts and a good portion of the people that fall into the categories above can't wait for it to happen. This is like the movie, The Sting with Paul Newman; you scam somebody out of some money and they don't even know what happened. Notice how much more the middle-class working American will get hammered!

(I don't know if this will post correctly- I'll rewrite and repost if not)

Raysmom - that was very refreshing. I do agree the Republicans also need a glass of water thrown in their face ,followed by a couple of slaps to snap them out of this. However, with the Dems , It's going to take a lot more than that. "REALITY" is not something they usually subscribe to.....

That's the big problem, isn't it, Dre? What do they do when the trough they tell all their voters they have a RIGHT to, runs dry? Taxes and giveaways never created a job, only more need, and they are truly biting the hand the feeds them. A little education in economics and markets would be good for some, and some are just takers, but the biggest problem right now is the sour grapes hatred the left, even some intelligent people, have for Bush. They won't look past it, to that "REALITY" thing- it just doesn't serve their agenda.

Yep Raysmom! It has become easier ,today, to find something or someone fictitiously to ponit blame. Some Americans have selected Bush, instead of dealing with what's actual. I remember during the Reagan administration how out of touch liberals called him the "devil", but today you have Obama and Hillary praising his success. Very amusing!

Move On should just move on, but they won't. They are using a tactic from the Karl Marx Playbook. "Say it long enough and Loud enough, and people will begin to believe it is true."

Man, I've heard so many Black Commentators dissin' this guy, and I never trusted him at all, and I've been labelled "Blue Eyed Soul."

But still, there remain a lot of die hards that will lick his boots.
