This blog is mainly for native mich. but all comments are more than welcome.
What I have to say to you was origionally going to be on a comment, but I didn't think enough people would see how much of an idiot I think you are.
First off, let me point out the obviously niave (simple, unstudied) statement you made concerning the masses. if you look hard enough, you will find out that the smokers outnumber the non-smokers by about 3-2 in this state.
Second, let me explain (like I have previously read in a very intelligent blog) the difference between our rights and your desires. we have the right to smoke, drink, etc. Whereas you have the desire to have an environment that is smoke free. If you really don't want to discard our rights, you would take your desire and find somewhere that it is accommodated. As far as I can tell, there are already MANY, MANY establishments that my rights are not noticed, but your desires are. That doesn't upset me half as bad as the fact that you are not happy only having a mound of places that your family can enjoy smoke free, but you want ALL of them. No smoking in bars?????? Are you nuts? what's next, NO DRINKING in bars? soon you will have an environment where you go into a bar and sip fruity little non-alcoholic beverages (because thats all they serve), berathing highly toxicated air (but no cigarette smoke), and be able to raise your kids in some fighting is not right, being a puss is cool, if somebody gives you crap you run away, come home and tell mommy and daddy and they will kiss it and make it all better, restaraunt has no fat foods, sheltered, we have money so we can buy you whatever you need, you don't have to work for what you want, BS KIND OF LIFE!
You are my least favorite kind of person. You smoked and wanted to be able to smoke when and where you want, then you quit, and became so anti-smoker that you actually think you have the right to tell other people how and where they can live life. CAN YOU SAY 2 FACED?
Anyway, let me continue...
Then you had the audacity to bring up religion (which, by the way you used the reference, I can tell you aren't too big into), and talk about "thou shall not kill..." . When the truth of the matter is that you are so determined to take away the rights of others, that you pulled the only thing you could think of to scare people into believing the crap that spews from your unamerican fingertips.
I look forward to your unamerican, 2-faced opinion.
all other comments are more than welcome.
What kind of place do we live in when you can't make your own decisions? I just heard a story about smoking. The STATE is trying to decide when and where you (a free, grown adult) can smoke. Now they are trying to pass a law where you can't smoke in any bars or restaurants. Personally, I think that a smoke and a beer go hand in hand. If you are totally against smoking, then don't go to a place where you know beyond a shadow of a doubt that people will smoke. It's very simple, I find smoke-free environments all the time, unfortunately.
I do agree that everybody has the right to decide what type of environment they are in.....BUT , as a smoker, am I not also entitled to the same rights?I think that the gov't should step out of such situations and let each one of us DECIDE FOR OURSELVES!
