DENVER (MyFOXColorado.com & AP) - Rep. Douglas Bruce was ordered to leave the podium of the Colorado House of Representatives on Monday after calling Mexican workers "illiterate peasants."

"How dare you," said Rep. Kathleen Curry, a Democrat .

Bruce said the bill was about "having more aliens coming into Colorado" from Mexico.

Rep. Bruce is absolutely correct in this matter.

This bill is clearly designed to bring more latin immigrants to Colorado, a State already burdened to the point of failure by immigrants from Latin America.

Our schools are failing due to the forced assimilation of wave after wave of illegal aliens who can't read or write in ANY language at ANY grade level.

We have done enough to ease the burden of Mexico's rich, powerful, and elite, perhaps it's time for Mexico to start taking care of Mexicans.

if you look at the CSAP data, emergency room statistics, and prison population, we have more than our share of latin immigrants (both legal and illegal) to deal with.

Ningún vacío...That means NO VACANCY!

By the way, for those who "gasped" at Mr. Bruce's observation...

(for you liberals, don't be confused...these are called facts):

il·lit·er·ate–adjective 1. unable to read and write: an illiterate group.

peas·ant –noun 1. a member of a class of persons, as in Europe, Asia, and Latin America, who are small farmers or farm laborers of low social rank.

I hope that clears it up for you, Kathleen.

I totally agree with you gj, now what do we do about the suppression of free speech?

This is what libs do to divert facts, they cry racism.

Kathleen Curry is an agent of the socialist progressive, in no way has she demonstrated that she has any interest in the people's voice in this state.

You got it Specter, after all it was a Liberal Democrat that said Obama was "cleaned up" for a black. Now that is racism but not Ms. Curry.

What a JOKE! Now even Senators don't have freedom of speech even if they speak the TRUTH! My gosh! Matbe if he said the same thing in Mexican he could have gotten away with it.

I'm reminded of the scene from Monty Python's Holy Grail where the peasant is screaming:

"Help! Help! I'm being repressed!"

Prime examples of the "representatives" who pay their constituents lip service but really serve their own progressive agenda, because they know what's "best for us".

I'm actually looking forward to the State-level attack ads this fall, there's soooooo much material to use.

Such is life in right to work states.
Lower pay, little or no health care and a breeding ground for undocumented people.
Fine and incarcerate the employers and start to put an end to unorganized labor.

Interesting how this can happen in a state that isn't even on the border, sounds just like Phoenix.

It appears as if Douglas Bruce is a graduate of the Evan Mecham School Of Public Speaking.

His remarks were shocking....Shocking! I couldn't believe he said it.

But it sounds like the legislation deserved it. So unPC, but it did the job. Now people will pay more attention to the garbage being shoveled into law.

Not sure what the bill was about, but I do see it as a violation of free speech. So do most fox web viewers, as the poll is 2:1 in favor of Rep Bruce NOT being out of line.

Another viewpoint that may interest you....

AZMee:

What has unions got to do with the Colorado legislature and liberal democrats shooting their mouths off? If you don't like this right-to-work state maybe you should try Pittsburg, PA or Akron, OH where unions have all but made these cities "Ghost towns" due to their never happy attitudes. Unions were fine at one time but they overstepped their usefulness and thye let greed take over.

I chose not to remark on the moron's quote but rather that disorganized labor will benefit from the bill in question.
I love this right to work state which is why I chose to live here, with my family, after making a comfortable living working as and eventually hiring union labor in my own businesses.
We build bigger, we build faster and most importantly we build safer than those that lack our training.
The training is the key.
Only documented people that are high school graduates are allowed to gain employment and in conducting business the checks and balances are much more stringent today than they were years ago when organized crime ran the unions (almost into the ground).
If you want to debate those issues with me I suggest you become more worldly and understand the current face of organized labor.

So anyway, Specter...The best way to attack this free speech issue is to repeat the "hurtful remark" as often as possible. Illiterate peasants. There, I said it.

C'mon, p.c. police, what was he supposed to say? Educationally-challenged crop harvest technicians?

Good Gravy, our Country truly has gone insane.

Having seen the very, very worst that "organized" labor has to offer a free society, I'm probably not the guy to talk to on that subject, AZMee.
I'm totally with you on arresting employers, though.

jteamaz, the unfortunate truth is that we are ALL border states now. I have a cousin in Iowa, population 8,000...and another 8,000 illegals. They had to QUADRUPLE their police force.

The point that was lost is, do we really need to ADD to the immigration problem?

Uh, NO.

Libtards believe that "most" Americans want amnesty for all illegals.

Does anyone even KNOW of someone who wants this for our Nation's, and our children's, future?

Write (or e-mail) your Congressman, folks. It helps more than you think.

What the democrats are doing is racist. They are protecting one group and one group only. How come we don't see 25 million Russians. Why don't we see 25 million illegal Africans ? 25 illegal Philippians? All we see are Mexicans been given the red carpet. The immigrants form Mexico are cheating people! They are jumping the line. There are many poor people from Africa to Asia who would love to come here and can not. The only way they can come is through legal means. However, all a person from Mexico has to do is walk over the border. That is cheating and for Rep. Kathleen Curryto say what she did was chilling. She is clearly showing favoritism for Mexicans (The only group of immigrants (legal and illegal) who don't want to speak English). She has also done nothing to help those who are trying to become citizens legally. That is unjust and very un-american. She is the demonstrating the concept of racism ,in my opinion and not Bruce.

I'm a Dad, a construction contractor, a foodie, an artist, and a patriot. I'm also very afraid. I used to live in the United States, but I now reside in latin America (and I never even had to move!). I like to argue current events with facts (along with simple, reasonable human logic). I don't suffer fools gladly, so liberals, please bring your facts (if you have any). I'm a huge Denver sports fan (30 years on the bandwagon), but my favorite teams are, by far, the ones my kids play on.
