I hate it when people can't logically debate their positions.  It makes me so sad for them.

So Reagan's son disagrees with Bush.  So what?  Does that mean that Reagan Jr. espouses the beliefs of his deceased father?  Does Ronnie Jr. now speak for Ronald Reagan?  It's worth noting that Ron Reagan legally had the "Jr." dropped from his name.

One can't help wonder if Casey Sheehan agrees with all of the nonsense his mom spouts in his name now that he's dead.  One can't help wonder if the Elder Reagan wouldn't tell his son to have a big glass of shut the hell up.

I'm guessing he would, but then, I don't speak for the dead.

Apparently Ron Reagan does.

Hasn't G.W. nearly mirrored Reagan on most of his political actions?

The Bush tax cuts were taken right out of the Reagan tax cut play book! Which if anyone remembers, led to an immediate recession :) Bushie wants to be just like Reagan....except he doesn't speak well and has no idea how to handle foreign affairs.

Reagan had 'The War on Drugs'
Bush has 'The War on Terror'

:) They were built from the same mold, but the mold was slightly broken after Reagan and that's why Bush is intellectually flawed.

Ronnie Jr. is a nudnik. "Run Ronnie, Run!"

Hey, Stranger. Good to see you. I won't argue that Bush replicates some of Reagan's policies, but it's hard to argue the fact that Reagan had a pretty successful presidency overall. Why not repeat some of the policies that worked?

I do remember "Reaganomics", but I don't recall a recession as a direct result.

We had one in 1980 for a couple years, but we all knew that it was because of the Iranian Revolution, crazy high oil prices, and Carter's inept handling of foreign affairs.

We had another in 1990, but it lasted less than a year. Historical economists blame industrial production and manufacturing-trade sales deficits for that one.

If we do have a recession, it is hard to blame anyone or anything other than the crazy gas prices (and we can blame the libs for that). Bush's tax cuts have been in place for years.

The first time I saw Ronnie Jr. he was on some sort of "muppet" show (this was after he had dropped out of Yale to join the ballet). I don't know who looked more foolish...the muppet, or "little" Ronnie, who was about 30 at the time. He used to spend a lot of time talking about his cats. Kinda creepy.

Reagan also admitted when he screwed up. I th may have taken a while but he still admitted his goof ups. As I recall there was not many. As I remember reaganomics worked pretty well. Clinton rode the coattails. True he does not speak very well and seems to be lacking in the arena of immigration. His globalist ideals are much bigger I think than reagan's.

What's up flash?

Reagan was a great president and an excellent communicator. We won't discuss his acting abilities :) Bad actors make for better politicians. "Jesse Ventura for president!!!" He'd do much better against Obama than old man McCain. McCain and Obama are both flip-flops.

Ronnie Jr. has failed miserably at everything in life except for ballet. Ballet! What a joke. Reminds me of the Dude's landlord in the Big Lebowski. Ronnie didn't complete his first semester at Yale. He was expelled from another school prior to Yale, can't remember the name though?? It would be a waste of time to look it up, as Ronnie Jr. is a waste of time.

There was a recession in 1982 after the tax cuts in 1981. I only mentioned it because we saw a recession after the Bush tax cuts, but the economy rebounded slightly. That was before the current economic recession though.

Reagan inherited the recession from Jimmy Cater in 1980. that recession was caused by a contradictory money policy of the federal reserve. It was intended to offset the high inflation rate.

Are you disparaging interpretive dance? Dude. (Probably the greatest comedy ever, IMO).

I'm with you again, Stranger. Jesse "The Body" for President. Just listening to him talk about his disgust for the career politicians makes him perfect for the job. We need a political enema, and Jesse would be the guy to get it done.

Ronnie Jr. is a waste of time.

To use the parlance of our times; "Shut the f**k up, Ronnie. You're out of your element."

"Am I the only one around here who gives a s*%$# about the rules?!"

Intellectually speaking, it's probably the best comedy to date....but I still can't get enough of Blazing Saddles.

They're dirty hippies, get it right :)

Or what I generally label them is Non-active Reactivists. "Copyright The Common Stranger, 2007."

They react to everything, yet are completely inactive.

I'm a Dad, a construction contractor, a foodie, an artist, and a patriot. I'm also very afraid. I used to live in the United States, but I now reside in latin America (and I never even had to move!). I like to argue current events with facts (along with simple, reasonable human logic). I don't suffer fools gladly, so liberals, please bring your facts (if you have any). I'm a huge Denver sports fan (30 years on the bandwagon), but my favorite teams are, by far, the ones my kids play on.
