Top 5 things I have learned or observed since moving to Colorado in October of '07 -

1. - The system of highways within Denver were designed by a tribe of crack smoking monkeys and further approved by a goat on acid.

All aformentioned creatures involved in the design and approval of on and off ramps within 100 feet of the other should be duct-taped to the guard rail between Bryant St. and US 25 on 6th Ave. eastbound during morning rush hour.

2. - The live and let live attitude through the tolerance of others faults, bad hair day's, illegal smoking habits, bad luck, or affinity with other sports teams simply rocks.

Cops changing tires for disabled motorists, an ounce or less for 420 supporters, good natured but respectful ribbing while wearing my Dolphins jersey to Broncos games, customer service that really is good customer service.

3. - Kegger's at the Governor's mansion?

When did Jeff Spicoli become Governor of Colorado?

4. - Nature rocks.

Get in your car and drive west until your ears pop - enough said.

5. - The Rockies should acquire Billy Beane from the A's at any cost.

Good teams on a consistent basis through great scouting, shrewed deals, and without a bloated payroll.

All in all, I'd say I'd moved to heaven if if I did not know Yankee Stadium is not on Blake St.

"The system of highways within Denver were designed by a tribe of crack smoking monkeys and further approved by a goat on acid."

The Denver highway system used to be just fine for handling the demand, until every retard and loser this nation had to offer decided to move to Colorado and turn it into a $#!thole.

Do us a favor, 80401. Move back to whatever liberal toilet you crawled out of. We like it here.

Oh , please don't fret Marilyn. This old timer is perpetually offended anyway.

After taking a moment to read the rest of your post, GoCo, I may have been a bit hasty. Please understand that Colorado was a MUCH better place to live about 1 million people ago.

Now we have all these good liberal folks who have decided to move here and tell us, among other things, that we can no longer expect to:

-drill our oil and gas, or
-use our guns, or
-expect protection from Big Union coercion,or
-use our restrooms in privacy, or
-Smoke, a perfectly legal act, in public anywhere, or
-expect actual representation for our taxation, or
-expect any relief from the aforementioned taxes, or
-expect our immigration laws to be enforced, or
-enjoy any/all of the freedoms we once did.

Some of these "newcomers" have tried to tell us what to do/think/drink since their arrival, but not all. Nearly every newcomer has something on common, though: They arrive in Colorado, and immediately start bi#@hing about it. Welcome to Colorado, GoCo, where we have a saying:

Welcome to Colorful Colorado. If You Don't Like It, Go Home.

Dang...goco was fairly positive. I'm a native and would have to agree with his assessment of our on-off ramp situation! There was absolutely no foresight in planning them, or just about anything at all to do with the original highways. We've got homes smack up against arterials and interstates so when they need to be widened, it's a huge donnybrook. Doi!

blame the designers of 1956.1921, 1938. the first attempt to build was 1938 under FDR and under the name of beureau of public roads. the federal highway act of 1944 chartered a system if interstate highways. the federal highway act of 1954 set aside $175 million dollars. in 1956 the federal highway act authorized another 25 billion dollars which the federal government was 90% responsible. so the responsible parties was the early designers of the system. also blame the municipalities to which authorized and zoned areas for development. while it is really for the movement of military supplies as authorized by Eisenhouer. the public movement really was'nt a concern

eisenhower wanted an interstate connecting every thing ....

every ten miles is a straight one mile stretch so air planes can land and soldiers can disembark and go get the bad guys...

communists would you believe was what eisenhow was a afraid of !! we have gone full circle in fifty years...
