Leon Panetta heading the CIA. What a surprise! Not!!! Since we are in two ground wars and are attempting to stop another terrorist attack on American soil, he would be the perfect far left choice.
He knows nothing about intelligence gathering so I assume there will be none. His job is hatchet man to gut the CIA like Carter and Clinton did. We all know how well that went. Well..at least the lefties won't be crying about the poor terrorists being waterboarded. And that awful Gitmo place will be closed and the inmates will probably be chauffered home on Air Force One after it has been fitted with foot baths. Better still, released in the US and given citizenship!

Beware everyone! There is a really nasty flu going around and some are getting strep throat with it. Symptoms start like a cold. Sneezing, coughing and chills. Progress to body aches, low grade fever, sore throat, head and chest congestion, nausea and your skin hurts. Antibiotics don't touch it and it lasts for weeks. I have had it since December 27th, My son and daughter-in-law got it before Christmas and we are all still sick .

A trillion here, a trillion there, pretty soon it adds up to real money by Vincent Gioia
It used to be, before the age of reason expired, that government spending was more or less in line with government income. Since most people paid taxes back then, the idea of raising their taxes was not popular. Today however when not all people pay taxes, the idea of raising taxes sounds pretty good to a large number of voters, citizens or not, because they are on the receiving end of government handouts. Actual working folks who pay most taxes to the government are in the voting minority so it becomes easier to get a majority of voters to be indifferent to increasing taxes or actually proponents of tax increases – that’s how it is in the dawning of the age of socialism.
Spending trillions of dollars today does not actually require the government to raise taxes (except in California and some other states, but that's another story). The federal government has a tool at its disposal for getting whatever amount of money it wants for its agenda. The fact is congress is actually not responsible for making money, at least not directly. The Federal Reserve Bank is in charge. The “Fed”, as it has become affectionately know to plutocrats, buys ink and paper, and gives it to the Treasury Department who tells the printing office to make money in whatever amount the Fed wants.
There is no expectation that Americans will make up the trillions printed by paying more taxes, that is impossible. The United States entire gross national product is only about $14 trillion so if taxpayers would be required to pay into government the trillions the Fed commissioned, our economy would collapse overnight. Not only would there be no soup lines as in the thirty’s, there would be no soup.
No, American taxpayers won’t pay the trillions the socialists want for nationalizing industry and banks; it will fall upon foreigners to buy the newly printed phony money in the form of government bonds and other securities. This works great as long as other governments and sovereign wealth funds are willing to take unsupported American paper, IOU’s so to speak, and replace it with something of value.
What we have here is a game of cards. Foreign money buys our paper because to do otherwise will cause the American economy to collapse. If America collapses, then all the previous dollars and investments they accumulated will be worth nothing so they will lose all. As long as the fiction of American economic strength is maintained, the house of cards stands, no one loses any money and American socialists can spend and spend without the risk that angry taxpayers will see socialism for what it is and revolt at the ballot box.
Is this a great country or what?

The Obama team is busy working on the biggest tax payer funded stimulus package ever, to repair our infrastructure. The premise is spending…excuse me, I mean “investing” billions of dollars we don’t have to create millions of jobs, which will in turn stimulate the economy and put us on the road to prosperity. The money is to be given to cities. The logic behind this is if they give it to individuals they might horde it; if they give it to states or the feds it will become a bureaucratic nightmare, so giving it to Mayors would insure it would be spent. Of course since it’s free money, there would be no incentive to control costs or even finish projects. Remember the Big Dig?
The top five cities requesting funds are Miami, Sacramento, Philadelphia, Los Angeles and Albuquerque. Call me a cynic, but how many American citizens do you think will get jobs in these cities? I can see the influx of "workers" already!

Stealth Jihad: Prison Bans Crucifix to Avoid Offending Muslims
A prison’s new chapel will not contain a crucifix to avoid offending Muslim inmates, it emerged today. Bosses at HMP Lewes have been told the traditional Christian symbol, featuring Jesus nailed to a cross, must not be used in the Grade-II listed Victorian jail’s ‘multi-faith space’. The room - part of a £1million new block - has been split in two, with one half featuring heated foot baths so Muslim worshippers can wash their feet before prayer. But the other side, dedicated to Christian prayer, contains just a simple wooden cross and portable alter - both of which can be removed if necessary. According the Independent Monitoring Board (IMB), the traditional Christian crucifix was erased from the chapel’s blueprints after discussion with a Muslim imam. Amanda Hamblin, chairman of the IMB, said: ‘We see this as a vastly improved facility and very much welcome the fact that the prison has an imam……(Daily Mail, 16 Dec 08)

Federal Lawsuit Filed Against Treasury Secretary to Stop AIG Bailout Financing of Terrorist Activities
A federal lawsuit was filed this morning against U.S. Treasury Secretary Henry M. Paulson, Jr. and the Federal Reserve Board to stop all bailout funds from going to American International Group, Inc. ("AIG"). According to the lawsuit, the U.S. government, through its ownership of AIG, is not only violating the Constitution, but also promoting and financing the destruction of America using American tax dollars. The basis of the lawsuit is that AIG intentionally promotes Shariah-compliant businesses and insurance products, which by necessity must comply with the 1200 year old body of Islamic cannon law based on the Quran, which demands the conversion, subjugation, or destruction of the infidel West, including the United States. To help achieve these objectives and with the aid of federal tax dollars, AIG employs a three-person Shariah Advisory Board, with members from Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, and Pakistan. According to AIG, the role of its Shariah authority "is to review [its] operations, supervise its development of Islamic products, and determine Shariah compliance of these products and [its] investments." Of particular significance is the Pakistani Board member, Dr. Muhammed Imran Ashraf Usmani. Dr. Usmani is the son and devoted disciple of Sheik Mufti Taqi Usmani, the leading authority on Shariah financing who, in 1999, authored a book dedicating an entire chapter on why a Western Muslim must engage in violent jihad against his own country - even if Muslims are given equality and freedom to practice their religion and to proselytize…..(Press Release, 15 Dec 08)

XEROX IS DOING SOMETHING COOL
If you go to this web site, www.LetsSayThanks.com you
can pick out a thank you card and Xerox will print it and it
will be sent to a soldier that is currently serving in Iraq .
You can't pick out who gets it, but it will go to a member of
the armed services. How AMAZING it would be if we could get
everyone we know to send one!!! It is FREE and it only takes a
second.
Wouldn't it be wonderful if the soldiers received a
bunch of these? This takes just 10 seconds and it's a wonderful
way to say thank you. Please take the time to send to our troops
and then please take the time to pass it on for others to do. We
can never say enough thank you's. Thanks for taking to time to
support our military!
God Bless America!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
GOD Bless you!
Merry Christmas everyone!!

An AP story about soldiers from the 3rd Battalion 3rd Special Forces group earning 10 Silver Stars from a battle in the mountains of eastern Afghanistan is posted on http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20081212/ap_on_re_us/ten_si
lver_stars. There were a couple of Texans amoung them. Although none of our men were killed, a 23 year old Afghan orphan who served as an interpreter and dreamed of coming to America lost his life.
While Americans are consumed with taxpayer bailouts and payoffs to the undeserving, crooked politicians at the very top of our leadership, gay rights and Christian bashing, these brave men and women are putting their lives on the line every day and they won't be home to spend Christmas with their families. Some of them will never come home.
Please remember them in your prayers.

I received this in an email today. I don't know if Tony Knox of Knox Machinery in Ohio actually wrote it, but I think it's worth reading no matter who wrote it.
Abridged letter from Troy Clarke, President of General Motors - followed by a response from Gregory Knox:
Dear Employee,
Next week, Congress and the current Administration will determine whether to provide immediate support to the domestic auto industry to help it through one of the most difficult economic times in our nation's history. Your elected officials must hear from all of us now on why this support is critical to our continuing the progress we began prior to the global financial crisis......................As an employee, you have a lot at stake and continue to be one of our most effective and passionate voices. I know GM can count on you to have your voice heard.
Thank you for your urgent action and ongoing support.
Troy Clarke
President
General Motors North America
From Gregory Knox,
In response to your request to call legislators and ask for a bailout for the United States automakers please consider the following, and please also pass this onto Troy Clark, the president of General Motors North America for me.
You are both infected with the same entitlement mentality that has bred like cancerous germs in UAW halls for the last countless decades, and whose plague is now sweeping the nation, awaiting our new "messiah" to wave his magical wand and make all our problems go away, while at the same time allowing our once great nation to keep "living the dream"…
The dream is over!
The dream that we can ignore the consumer for years while management myopically focuses on its personal rewards packages at the same time that our factories have been filled with the worlds most overpaid, arrogant, ignorant and laziest entitlement minded "laborers" without paying the price for these atrocities…and that still the masses will line up to buy our products
Don't tell me I'm wrong. Don't accuse me of not knowing of what I speak. I have called on Ford,GM ,Chrysler,TRW,Delphi,Kelsey Hayes, American Axle and countless other automotive OEM's and Tier ones for 3 decades now throughout the Midwest and what I've seen over the years in these union shops can only be described as disgusting.
Mr Clark, the president of General Motors, states:
There is widespread sentiment in this country, our government and especially in the media that the current crisis is completely the result of bad management. It is not…
You're right – it's not JUST management…how about the electricians who walk around the plants like lords in feudal times, making people wait on them for countless hours while they drag ass…so they can come in on the weekend and make double and triple time…for a job they easily could have done within their normal 40 hour week
How about the line workers who threaten newbies with all kinds of scare tactics…for putting out too many parts on a shift…and for being too productive (mustn't expose the lazy bums who have been getting overpaid for decades for their horrific underproduction, must we?!?) Do you really not know about this stuff?!?
How about this great sentiment abridged from Mr. Clarke's sad plea:
over the last few years …we have closed the quality and efficiency gaps with our competitors.
What the hell has Detroit been doing for the last 40 years?!?
Did we really JUST wake up to the gaps in quality and efficiency between us and them?
The K car vs. the Accord?
The Pinto vs. the Civic?!?
Do I need to go on?
We are living through the inevitable outcome of the actions of the United States auto industry for decades.
Time to pay for your sins, Detroit.
I attended an economic summit last week where a brilliant economist, Alan Beaulieu surprised the crowd when he said he would not have given the banks a penny of "bailout money". Yes, he said, this would cause short term problems, but despite what people like George Bush and Troy Clark would have us believe, the sun would in fact rise the next day… and something else would happen…where there had been greedy and sloppy banks new efficient ones would pop up… that is how a free market system works…it does work…if we would let it work…
But for some reason we are now deciding that the rest of the world is right and that capitalism doesn't work – that we need the government to step in and "save us"…save us, hell – we're nationalizing…and unfortunately too many of this once fine nations citizens don't even have a clue that this is what's really happening…but they sure can tell you the stats on their favorite sports teams…yeah – THAT'S < /SPAN>important…
Does it occur to ANYONE that the "competition" has been producing vehicles, EXTREMELY PROFITABLY, for decades now in this country?...
How can that be???
Let's see…
Fuel efficient…
Listening to customers…
Investing in the proper tooling and automation for the long haul…
Not being too complacent or arrogant to listen to Dr W Edwards Deming 4 decades ago
Ever increased productivity through quality, lean and six sigma plans…
Treating vendors like strategic partners, rather than like "the enemy"…
Efficient front and back offices…
Non union environment…
Again, I could go on and on, but I really wouldn't be telling anyone anything they really don't already know in their hearts
I have six children, so I am not unfamiliar with the concept of wanting someone to bail you out of a mess that you have gotten yourself into – my children do this on a weekly, if not daily basis, as I did at their age. I do for them what my parents did for me (one of their greatest gifts, by the way) – I make them stand on their own two feet and accept the consequences of their actions and work them through.
Radical concept, huh…
Am I there for them in the wings? Of course – but only until such time as they need to be fully on their own as adults
I don't want to oversimplify a complex situation, but there certainly are unmistakable parallels here between the proper role of parenting and government.
Detroit and the United States need to pay for their sins.
Bad news people – it's coming whether we like it or not
The newly elected Messiah really doesn't have a magic wand big enough to "make it all go away" I laughed as I heard Obama "reeling it back in" almost immediately after the vote count was tallied…"we might not do it in a year…or in four…" where was that kind of talk when he was RUNNING for the office
Stop trying to put off the inevitable …
That house in Florida really isn't worth $750,000…
People who jump across a border really don't deserve free health care benefits…
That job driving that forklift for the big 3 really isn't worth $85,000 a year…
We really shouldn't allow Wal-Mart to stock their shelves with products acquired from a country that unfairly manipulates their currency and has the most atrocious human rights infractions on the face of the globe…
That couple whose combined income is less than $50,000 really shouldn't be living in that $485,000 home…
Let the market correct itself people – it will. Yes it will be painful, but it's gonna be painful either way, and the bright side of my proposal is that on the other side of it is a nation that appreciates what is has…and doesn't live beyond its means…and gets back to basics…and redevelops the work ethic that made it the greatest nation in the history of the world…and probably turns back to God.
Sorry – don't cut my head off, I'm just the messenger sharing with you the "bad news"

Faith
I guess I am really naive. I thought the faith blog was suppose to be an uplifting space where Christians could share their belief in God's Word. Perhaps even an escape from the nastiness that permeates other blogs. Instead I find another tiresome homosexual rant and Jesus wasn't a Jew.
I am really tired of reading about homosexuals. I don't judge them, I don't hate them, I don't care why they are or who they are. The Bible says it's an abomination; death means they will lose their souls; and if that's what they do, are or choose, so be it, but get OUT of my FACE with it!
The Jewish people are God's chosen people. The Jews are descendents of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob, as was Jesus. It says so in the Bible, so that's it! Nothing more to discuss. Jesus Christ is the son of God, born of the virgin Mary, died on the cross for our sins, arose on the third day and ascended into Heaven to sit at the right hand of God. He will return to earth with His people to defeat satan. He will rule the world from His temple in the city of Jerusalem.
Can't get any clearer than that. Now let's celebrate our Savior's birthday with Joy and be thankful for the Blessings God has bestowed on us.

Senate Banking Committee Chairman Christopher Dodd and House Financial Services Chairman Barney Frank of Massachusetts took the lead in writing legislation for majority Democrats on the auto bailout. If that doesn't scare you to death, nothing will!
They are now proposing a "Car Czar" to oversee the bailout funds and ensure conditions are met. This will undoubtedly balloon into a full blown bureaucracy with a cabinet post. Just what we need, more government bumbling into the private sector.
GM is talking about restructuring which will resemble a bankruptcy proceeding but under the oversight of appointed officials rather than a federal judge. Anytime the government oversees anything, chaos reigns. Fannie and Freddie are perfect examples.
The bad dream is turning into a nightmare.

The following are exerpts from J.B. Williams, creator of The Great American Journal: http://www.greatamericanjournal.com/archives/cols/IsT
hereNotaSingleCapitalist.htm
Before Washington law-makers forced mortgage lenders to lend on the basis of “need” rather than the ability to pay, there was no mortgage crisis. Before labor unions forced American auto-makers to make a lesser product for the highest price on the globe, rendering the entire industry incapable of competing in an ever shrinking world market, there was no auto industry crisis.
It’s clear that nobody in Washington DC has an ounce of capitalist common sense. But what about the average American taxpayer who is being bludgeoned to death by tax debt? Americans have overlooked the reality that every problem we have was created by idiots in Washington DC. As a result, they continue to look to those same idiots for some magic solution and as each day passes, the only solution Washington knows, is burying Americans deeper and deeper in a debt that can never be paid.
So what makes any American think that these people have any idea at all, how to save a company, much less an industry, or for heavens sake, an entire economy?
I am still searching for an answer as to why we keep electing the same incompetents, decade after decade!
