I used to blog on this site a lot. My absence is not caused by a sudden aversion to blogging.  I still cherish all of my blogging buddies - Republicans, Democrats, liberals, conservatives, hippies, yippies, yuppies, Gen X, etc. You get the picture.

Two months ago I set out on a quest to locate some old comrades. They weren't necessarily friends - they were actually brothers. They are brothers in the sense that we all spent one lonely fear filled year and one Christmas on a mountaintop in Vietnam. That mountain is Vung Ro Mountain. The mountain is situated nearly midway between the ciies of Nha Trang and Qui Nhon and near to the ctiy of Tuy Hoa on the eastern coast of Vietnam. None of us were combat troops. We were mostly Signal Corps troops charged with the duty of carrying radio traffic from place to place for our troops in the field. We all carried on our duties day to day never knowing what messages we received and transmitted from place to place because our signal was encrypted and could only be heard by those who were using our channels for communcation. Many of us never knew one another because we were all there for only one year. The time the site was there spanned the years from 1967- 1970 and beyond.

As of this day we have located 27 surviving members of that group and three who are deceased. Two of the deceased succumed to lung cancer which was attributed to Agent Orange exposure. The other deceased brother was never the same according to his family after he retuned from Vietnam. I'm sure he had PTSD (post traumatic stress disorder) after I spoke with his older brother. War can kill long after the fighting has stopped.

We have troops in the field today - men and women is Iraq, Afghanistan, Kosovo - remember them as you celebrate this Christmas - they are all fearful for their lives and the well being f their families and they need your support. Pray for them. They are there to defend you!

Oil keeps dropping in price. Right now oil is at its lowest price in several years. The mystery is how the price of a gallon of gas goes up while the substance it is distilled from goes down.

Is this some new kind of economics or are we all being played for suckers because OPEC said that it would cut production?

Let us not forget that today is the 67th anniversary of the Japanese sneak attack on Pearl Harbor which cut down nealy 2500 of our brave young men in the early morning hours of December 7, 1941.

RIP - you were avenged!

I'm tired of hearing your agonizing wails about how everybody is going to suffer if the "BIG 3" don't get a bailout with my money. You are the ones who pushed them to the brink of disaster. Your ridculous union contracts that have your pay with benefits, bonuses, health care, and pensions at $78.00 per hour! Sure, you learned how to thread a bolt into a nut at some point in your life - for that you make that kind of money! Who are you trying to fool with your weeping and wailing? I say the country would be better off if the BIG 3 had to go into bankruptcy so they could dump your union contracts and hire you back at near what you are worth - maybe $13.00 per hour, give you a few days vacation and sick leave and a few holidays just like the rest of us get and health care that you had to pay for just like the rest of us and give you an option to join a 401K plan if you want to have something to retire on. The nation is not dependant on the UAW or the BIG 3. It would be nice to have domestic auto manufacturers that could build a good car that could be sold at a fair price and once again be competitive with overseas and foreign owned domestic producers such as Honda and Toyota.

I hate "political correctness". I think that "PC" is one of the most dishonest restrictions any one has ever attempted to force on a people. It is dishonest because, if you adhere to it, you can never speak your true mind nor can you communicate honesthy with another person.

The good news is that people used to put skirts around the legs of pianos, tables and chairs because they mistakenly believed that showing any kind of leg was immoral and sinful. If people were able to wake up and realize just how stupid that notion was they should be able to wake up and realize just how stupid "PC" is!

Speak up and speak out America!

 

As you all know, I have been a vehement opponent of Barack Obama for some time. I have never had any contact with him, his people, or his campaign. I have never contributed money and Obama has no reason to have me on his radar.

That having been said: I received an email today from John Podesta, the head of Obama's transition team. In the email I was addressed by my first name and invited to visit their transition site - http://Change.gov.

I would be very interested to know, not only how they obtained my email address, but how they knew my first name. It makes me very uncomfortable.

The Democrat party is in a big hurry and falling all over itself to bailout the automakers.

Now, which party is the party of "big business"?

I guarantee all of you that voted for Democrats in this last election are going to get burned by your party.

Obama has his job application out there. He wants to fill 700 administrative positions within his administration. The application leads one to believe that he is recruiting people based on their politics rather than their expertise. While this is not an uncommon way for a new administration to recruit it does not represent "change".

Seems that Obama is relying on the same ol' same ol' recruiting practices of previous administrations!

 

 

Has anyone else noticed that the weather map shown on F4 shows "Warrensburg" AFB instead of Whiteman AFB? Ok, what idiot complained who doesn't realize that the "Whiteman" in Whiteman AFB  is the last name of the man the base is named after?

Fox - change the name back - this is an outrage and an insult to the man the base was named for!

After several days of not receiving blog comment notifications I emailed Fox 4 and asked what's up? They replied that nothing was as far as they know. Later today I receved 54 notifications all at once - most were several days old. I know this because I had already seen the comments on my blogs even though I didn't get the notification.

Is anybody else experiencing this?

Is Obama and his thought police already at work?

If you have seen the movie "Apocalypto" you will know what I'm talking about. In one scene they are making sacrifices of the captives and then the sun goes dark due to a solar eclipse. The shaman presiding over the sacrificial ceremony calls an end to the sacrifices and annouces that the god has drunk his fill of blood and that everything will be good from here on. He is able to do this because he knows that a solar eclipse passes and the sun comes out again.

The stock market never drops to zero and it always comes back. Ditto the economy. Ditto the earth's temperature. Ditto change - change always happens - every day. Ditto social change - it happens every day with no one's help.

Some people know this and understand this and they attempt to use their knowledge to manipulate us.

There are a lot of good, decent people on this site who may have different opinions than I do. They blog, I comment - I blog, they comment. I can handle the different opinions and viewpoints  - no problem. Then there are some people on this site who truly irritate me because they are rude, disrespectful, illiterate, brainless,never did any thing in their lives resembling work and who spout such outlandish drivel that it makes my toenails curl.

These people are the ones whose comments I will, from now on, delete from my blogs. I have already deleted comments made by a few of them and I will cotinue to do so any time they have the audacity to post anything resembling tripe on one of my blogs in the form of a comment.

I don't care if you like Obama - that's your business. I don't care if you don't like George Bush (there are things I don't like about him either and I've said so - I told HIM what I didn't like). If you don't like him that's your business and I respect that. Disliking him is one thing but vilifying him is something else entirely. Bush did not cause airplanes to crash into the WTC, the Pentaon or a field in Pennsylvania. Your a$$ and mine are both intact today because of Bush's actions in both Afghanistan and Iraq, because we have terrorists incarcerated at Guantanamo, because wire taps have been used and because we have fighting men and women willing to die instead of cry for their country.

We are going to be facing a more terrible world than you can imagine in short order. I don't intend to go down serving milk and cookies to the enemy.

A country cannot gain standing in the world by being weak. A country gains standing by looking out for its people and its friends in the world.

 

Its not over folks. The battle resumes tomorrow. The heart and soul of this nation haven't been forfeited yet!

We have had a spirited, lively and, sometimes, rancorous debate on this website for sometime now about today's elections. During the course of this debate I have been called a follower of Bush and worse. That's ok because I have, in turn, said some not so nice things about the opposition and I want you all to know that I meant them. I firmly believe that, tonight, this nation has headed down the path to ruin. I invite Obama, the illegal alien, to come and get me. He can make me a martyr to my cause. His truth and goon squads can come to my front door and take me. I put nothing past this man.

This having been said I have written numerous letters to Bush in which I warned him about the consequences of his actions.

On March 27th, 2006 I wrote to him and warned him that he needed to do something about high and rising energy costs, I warned him of the prices of everything rising because of energy costs, I warned him that, at the time, the stock market was stagnant, I warned him that the war in Iraq was bogged down and somehing needed to be done about it. I warned him that Saddam was making a mockery about his trial and that Osama was nowhere to be found. I warned him that ILLEGAL immigration was killing us. I told him that he needed to use his "bully pulpit" to "dress down" the energy companies.

I'm basically nobody and why should a president listen to me - Well, because I'm an American citizen and a constituent is why!

I warned him that if he continued on the path he was on that the next president would be a Democrat. At this moment it is apparent to me that my prediction has come true.

I haven't changed my mind about conservatism one bit but I can tell you that George Bush is an idiot who is not worthy of the office he has held for the last 8 years! George also ruined the prospects of many other Republicans/Conservatives with his refusal to identify reality and act on it.

This Kansas City, Mo Police Chief has announced that he is not going to allow his officers to provide security at polling places on election day. WHAT? What the hell does he think the police department is for?

I have blogged about this idiot before. JamesCorwin is the sorriest excuse for a chief of police that a city could have. What the hell does he think his job is? I can't figure out why this guy even applied for the job. Does he think hat he was hired to write memos and sit at a desk while trying to think up ways to avoid enforcing the law? This man seriously needs to find another line of work!
