I have got to say it. I am sick and tired of misleading news headlines. I love Fox News, especially the one here in Denver, however I have got to take objection to tonight's newscast.
I read earlier today about the misuse and abuse of government charge cards by employees who were not punished for what they did. It was a GOVERNMENTAL investigation by OMB (Office of Management and Budget) and GSA (General Services Agency) that uncovered the misuse in response to whistleblowing that was done withing the various agencies. Fox News did NOT uncover this. How in the world can they say their investigation uncovered any of this? They probably read it on the news wires just like I did. So they had a taped interview with a lawmaker. BIG DEAL! THEY DID NOT UNCOVER THE ISSUE! THEY DID NOT INVESTIGATE THE ISSUE TO DETERMINE THE FRAUD AND ABUSE WAS REAL! It is horribly frustrating to hear a headline like that where the news channel is taking credit for work done by someone else. How about some honesty in the headlines. Stop being so sensational. Report the news with the facts that are there. I don't think it matters who uncovered it, report the facts of the issue, stop trying to make everything a "scoop". Give quality information and the rest will follow.
What do you think? Does it really matter if a station is first to report a story or does it matter that they got the facts correct and maybe found out something that hasn't been reported yet?
