Great post, Shock. The only thing I don't like about the libertarian party is the view on legalization of drugs. Even Neal Boortz and Michael Savage, both of whom lean towards being a libertarian, don't want illicit drugs legalized.

Michigan Man and I went around and around on the drug controversy as well. He is strictly against prohibition of drugs.

What's your view on that?

7 : It would take the money out of the hands of street dealers , and put it into the hands of a free market , also making a taxible entity .
8 : Would reduce street crime , by taking the dealings off the street .
When is the last time someone broke into your house to steal , to support a legal drug habit ?

9 : Our government established a court system designed , so that ten guily people would go free , before one inocent person would go to jail . Over half of all prisoners in the U.S. are in for non-violent or victomless crimes , mostly drug related offenses . [ It's pretty stupid to put a 18 yr. old in jail for 20 years [ at the cost of btwn 20-60, 000 pr.yr. ], when , in 4 years , that person could be put thru a decent college for about half of that amount pr. yr. .
10 : Offers a new cash bumper crop for farmers that can't make it selling soy beans and corn .
Uses a lot less fuel than growing typical crops .
