This Global Warming farse has gone far enough right??

Nope it gets worse,  The Brain washing of the sheeple just makes my head spin.. Thank god Bush said he would veto the bill...... But just know whats going on folks...

Carbon Tax Provides Fairest Incentive For Curbing Global Warming:A carbon tax would be paid whenever a molecule of carbon dioxide is emitted to the atmosphere by burning fossil fuels. Utilities would pay it based on their smokestack emissions and pass the cost to consumers in their monthly electric bill. Each of us would pay it when we fill up with gasoline, based on the content of fossil carbon in the fuel.

The emissions of carbon dioxide stem from many sectors of society -- from power plants and other industrial sources and from you and me, as we heat and light our houses and drive our cars on daily errands. No one sector can solve the global warming problem by itself. Even if it was a real problem (its a Theory).

A carbon tax would provide the maximum incentive for bright engineers to improve the efficiency of fossil fuel use in all sectors of society. It also would maximize the potential for important "cross-sector" transfers of efficiency. For instance, if engineers find efficient ways to reduce CO2 emissions from the power plants that provide our electricity, the utilities’ carbon tax savings could be passed along to consumers.

TIP of the ICEBERG..

BTW..YOU and I are producers of Carbon emissions too ( as well as OTHER Greenhouse Gases )..In the form of the CO2 that we exhale..

Look for Breath Taxes,, on TOP of Clean Air taxes,, before it's ALL over with...

We are in a war that is bankrupting the country.
We are over run with illegal invaders that are bankrupting the country.
Businesses build their factories in foreign countries and still get tax incentives.
Businesses outsource customer service to foreign countries.
The housing industry has all but collapsed.
Fuel costs are causing rampant inflation.
Unemployment and foreclosure are on the rise (all new high for foreclosures this month).

So instead of addressing the problems, cutting back on spending, the wonderful US Congress, filled with EDIT, just decide to remedy the problem by increasing taxes.

Good post, Signal. And Hawkeye made a very valid point every one loves to ignore! What about every time Kilauea erupts? Does that count? Pegasus, get ready to do some kicking, I'm gonna cut a switch! We need something to rattle the cages of those who don't give a rats EDIT, not the ones who are paying attention, and who actually care!

...it makes the hair on my neck stand up every time I hear the idiotic line “The war is bankrupting this country” (could not be farther from the truth) in the last 4 war spending bills we spent less than 25 cents on the dollar on the military while the rest of the funds went to every silly special interest liberal program you can imagine...this “war” has cost us far less than we have wasted on Spanish speaking students in AMWEICAN classrooms...and is responsible for a smaller portion of our current economic problems than the very “green idiocy” that this post is about. First off reducing “carbon” is a foolish waste of time/money/effort there is NO evidence that carbon should even be considered a form of pollution (all green plants are completely dependent on carbon in the atmosphere) and second we can blame our current problems directly on prohibitive (while useless!) environmental restrictions forcing us to remain dependent on foreign oil while also diminishing our own production capability !!!

RNC08, you dismiss many assertions stating that there is "....NO evidence.."

Yet I don't see any evidence produced/cited by you to back-up your contrary assertions. It seems to be a pattern that you have fallen into.

Some things are obvious facts such as the plants being somewhat dependent on carbon, but you seem to mix generally accepted facts with those that are currently being disputed or researched and you don't produce any supportive evidence.

BTW, for anyone interested, there is a study that was done entitled "The temperature dependence of the Stimulation of Photosynthesis by elevated carbon dioxide in wheat and barley" by J.A. Bunce, in volume 49 no.326 of the Journal of Experimental Botany. It is an example of how things may differ from generally accepted thought.

RNC08...

Not that we haven't had this discussion before over and over again,, ad Nauseum..Overwhelming evidence has been presented time and time again to counter the GOREBAL SCAMMERS' claims and it does NO good..A WEEK later the SAME Gorebal Scammers make the SAME claims as if the discussion,, and the fallacy of their position,, had NEVER taken Place....SAME thing with the So Called "War bankrupting the country " claim..

Besides,,as YOU and I BOTH know,,As it is the Gorebal Scammers that are MAKING the Claim and as it is the Gorebal Scammers making DEMANDS it is incumbant upon the Gorebal Scammers to provide PROOF of THEIR rediculous Claims..NOT YOU...

But HEY..YOU can't EVEN get their GURU to even DEBATE the ISSUE let alone provide ANY proof beyond a Hollywood type production RIFE with EXPOSED Mischaraterizations,, PROVEN Distortions and OUTRIGHT LIES...

Sounds an AWFUL lot like a WEAK position to ME...

Hey Sig, Here is a copy of a letter I got from Newt G. He is supporting Drill here, Drill Now, Pay Less! Copy from his reply to my contribution:

Thank you for your generous contribution to keep our "Drill Here, Drill Now, Pay Less" petition drive alive. I wanted to give you a quick update on the campaign and the overwhelming response we've received.

Already, more than 140,000 people have signed the petition urging Congress to start drilling for oil domestically. Next week, it's our goal to deliver more than 250,000 signatures to the United States Senate as a first step toward stopping the destructive Warner-Lieberman bill which would raise the cost of gasoline, diesel fuel, aviation fuel, natural gas and coal.

Americans truly have a choice - a choice between paying more and sending more money to foreign dictators, or producing more oil domestically and paying less. I hope you'll forward this email update to your friends and family and ask them their choice, and encourage them to sign the petition and join this movement.

Again, thanks for your support and for standing with me for real change.

Please, all interested parties, sign the petition!
