if we ever meet an intelligent lifeform from another world, where should we meet that person? here on our world, or somewhere out there in the deep recesses of space? and what do you base your answer on?

ET,

Right here on earth so that if at all possible they could view us and assist us with their intelligence!

The question: Is there intelligent life out there in the universe...

Makes me think that if there is life out there it must be asking the same question...

So...

Is there intelligent life here on earth?

the odds are for life out there. and yes, there is intelligent life here on this world. ever hear of einstein, salk, or how about goddard or pastuer? as for meeting them here. consider the implications of that. it would be better to meet other lifeforms out there, after all, just because you can travel between stars doesn't mean you are a peace-loving, or trustworthy entity.

I think we should meet them on Saturn. Just because I think Saturn is cool. Or maybe they have a better suggestion. Anyway, that would be one small handshake for man; one giant high-five for mankind.
