A good day to bake, whoops got the wingdings language!

                            [Betty Crocker  1964 cookbook]

with all the  wild-fires where I am visiting, its good to stay inside and try out new or old recipes:

RAISIN CREME PIE

3 beaten eggs

1 Cup sugar                                                 COMBINE ALL

1/2 tsp cinamon

1/2 tsp nutmeg                                 2   1/2 tb  LEMON JUICE

1/4 tsp salt                                         2 tb MARGINE {MELTED}

**************************************************
**********

ADDING LASTLY ONE CUP SEEDLESS PLUMPED RAISINS

WITH ONE HALF CUP BROKEN CALIFORNIA WALNUTS

POUR INTO UNBAKED PASTRY CRUST

350-375 degrees   @  30 minutes - til set.

Remove Seal with  two inch height egg white meringue.

Cool  after meringue is baked til golden brown.

Six egg white with 1/2 tsp sugar adding the sugar slowly to the pretty well whipped whites so will give a smooth texture browning nicely.

to lvland neighb. well, I did go along ways to 'find' my favorite recipe...all the ways to Florida to search the cookbook I gave to my daughter and she too busy to e-mail it...so am a happy camper.
the recipe was special cause i won a ribbon at the county fair many decades ago with it, before i really knew how to cook. My childless Auntie gave me the book, and good thing she did. Fond memories of visiting her on the farm and where my uncle ranched cattle in Western Nebraska so very long ago. Shes the one who taught me how to count the lighening/thunder too see how many miles away a storm is...funny isn't it..

Never doubt the power of prayer and thanksgiving...for The U.S. of A. ....also thankful for any time that I would be able to spend with my grandchildren who are really really scattered.. ..all busy with their own lives. Sing with a grateful heart, God Bless America. And thanks to those defending it.
