What do you have to say re:   your experience as the   E.P.A.   ????asssuming  Enviromental Protection Agency  and  the  pollution I  mused about from the  train cars of sulpher   goin  up  and  down  this part of Colorado.

Any complaints ever formally filed to the extent of the  cycle of  clouds, atmospheric winds, and cloudbursts redepositing  the sulpher  escapin into the  air  [we breath] and recycling into the sidewalks, parking lots, etc    drain gutter places that are stopped up with leafs and other debri???

The  yellow  edging I notice after puddles of rain fill certain low  spots where  these  pools lie ever catch anyone elses attention?

for those of you who don't  walk,  use a mobility scooter, and ride bycycles  in the fast lane; have you ever stopped to look at the puddles after a pouring rain...I do, cause  it would get the battery wet on my scooter....lines of yellow   edges  around the puddles make one wonder if the sulfer has  reinvented itself into acid rain, perhaps  from  the condensation of the sulpher plant itself whereever it is located...

Hello   EPA

The puddles  dry up and the yellow   'chalk' like substance is left  on the pavements, sidewalks, and gutters where the flow has been.

Someday will take a pic, if had the digital camera to do so.

As for different matter of  the e-coli,  and NOONE  knows   from where it comes:

A horse of a different color is the e-coli mystery illness that can kill.

I think it comes from the  dirt, or from the compost  of which  is  derived manure like substances that we grow  our tomatoes, garden  varieties of all sorts from the  bags of store-bot fertilizer...Hello?

Can  the dirt   cause e-coli  bacteria to  'flavor'  tomatoes, veeggies of all sorts, fruits................  as the lettuce scare, we had while back -  and the  compost  used in mass production of  fertilizers to speed up the growth; perhaps can cause the illnesses of  e-coli  by  NOT   washing,   chemicals passed in transportation -whether in the trucks, boxes, crates, or packing  'net' bags,  clear plastic containers, etc.

The scientific community should know if this can transfer into the growing veggies inner most parts. I doubt that one, thinking it would be on the surfaces!!!

Don't ya know to wash those veggies, fruits...

and as for our sulfer rains???   someone needs to explore this one..

All the explosions   overseas are goin to come back to haunt us in the returning rains, upper atmospheric winds,   yepper.  ---thinking of our grandchildrens children, come on?

Each year I watch the island under the bridge of the Poudre and the snowmelt is fast coming;  the flow is fast and furious today, too.  some   kids jumpin off the railroad bridge- cause underneath is at least 6-8 feet of water.  Not too smart, but if you go feet first you can enjoy the splash... a bit unwise for unseen  floating  treebranches from upstream may cause injury....the trees in the island will be laying sideways tomorrow, and smothered by the flow as the   'Y'  in the stream cuts thru up the bank at least four feet....

The grass is green and the foxes busy, busy, coming out a couple hrs. before daylight, black streaks on the red fur making you wonder if they've cross bred with the wolves???Is that possible?

Sunny days of summer fast approaching, we hope the storm clouds stay away as this is the most unusual weather we have experienced for at least eight years in this area! Never have I seen a tornado, a lotta virgo, etc.  but  even as the clouds lay over on their side, as in Nebraska would become tornado funnels in a hurry...now we must watch even closer for that possibility... ENJOY.....the moisture is needed.

We   saw  those clouds yesterday, and the river is running fast and furious, a prelude to todays unusal  disaster of tornadoes, winds with such force as to destroy mobile homes, tear off roofs like peeling a  ripe  orange, tipping over trains that have tons & tons of weight in each car! A life lost in the Greeley Tribune, a patriotic person likely doin as the mail-man and attempting to beat the hail, rain, or winds  to load up papers and make the delivery deadline?????

So it is, a few hrs. after the frantic phone calls coming from Greeley, Mom we don't have any electricity, do you?  And without the news....she quickly replied: the sirens going off, 'take cover...' With my Fox 31 newsreport fresh across the screen as I just returned home from my drizzly scooter ride; however refreshing it was to deep breath the moist air following yesterdays  97 degree  oven- where I had dressed in my blue jeans and sweater, not realizing outdoors was the oven. Indoors was my new A/C  WORKING  GREAT!

As the days pass with 40,000 persons out of electricity; however, but safe...wondering how many will purchase the generators that my other eldest daughter is so used to having ready for the hurricanes that hit Floridas East Coast after the Frances, 2006 episode where three came  one after the other.

I am grateful for the cell use and DID unfortuneately find out the network was  crammed and unavailable..."NO SERVICE..."  came across several different intervals...while I tried to reiterate the  newest broadcast of 'avoid I-25/#287, etc. Longmont, Evans, wellingtons  Gilcrest....WOW  I am thinking the world has the earthquakes, the floods and VERY UNUSUAL in Colorado for  real Tornado possibilities?

Is this a sign of the end times, make yourselfs ready cause its in the Word:  ....'that one will stay and one will go...-in the twinkling of an eye...'

The shock and severity of the humongous damage is just now sinking in a few hrs. later...We are blessed to be safe here.  And all my daus.  granddaughters are safe...so in the real workworld, progress at hand:  the   construction crew @  UNC  where my son-in-law was  still doin his regular job with the option of goin into a tunnel...if it did strike over them..."   What an unusual day! And how strange it is that I had a safe day...the Lord will protect you. In the often newscasts how one home is flattened and the neighbors left untouched I like to think the blood of jesus plus a little prayful heart  was over theirs.   We are entitled to our opinion on the matter! Really. Or thinking  its' not  their time, yet to leave, more kingdom work needs to be done.

Just today, I visited  Martinez Park since it was so  close to the 100 degree temperature

around  five  sixish hour when baseball practice gets into high swing,... the clouds were looking like  hail would be delivered fast and furious somewhere.....somewhere prob. WY or western frontrange...moving along as the big male fox came out before dark, and the three baby squirrels were bein playful across the ditch... the sun came back out from behind the ominous, huge  black  cloud that gathered up like a large UFO...so I decided time to hit the trail by the dam.  Cheak out the water run-off. Boy, yesterday it wasn't high. today, yes.

-sure enuff the fisherman were out in full  hip boots with  their poles to see what is coming down the mountain flood/snowmelts....  water is up, yes, up 2-3 feet up the banks and under the railroad bridge so carefully landscaped, that even when the water is running fast it flows thru right UP to the edge of the concrete trail so bikers, hikers, and scooters can travel thru......As you pass thru the r.r. bridge  which is light at night with the yellow flood lights for night riders, likely to discourage wildlife from settling down there , and once in a while used for sleepers who may be homeless veterans...What a place to have to find shelter...in the hard rocks, dusty muck under the bridge supports. Of course, it does put out the heat, even after dark...

Hopefully one day a shelter will be built for the veterans, cause  their numbers will double and triple fast within the decade...Veterans trained for war, untrained for some skilled labor positions if they went into the service after high school, means retraining on the homefront... And some love and support for their  SERVICE, please!

So  fishers of men, get ready cause the melt is here...and will surely be increasing...the current running fast, so be careful if you decide to 'wade' in......

batten down the hatches on Sacramento coasts with 30 foot  splash on the waves?Thats what I heard re:  30 foot tides????      Is it possible?  todays  KUNC newscast.

Three days of continual rain  may cause those hillside mudslides!  Preparation has begun on burn out areas to prevent erosion ......so much needed rain will come at once, this could be worse than Katrina.

Gotta shovel in the trunk and a bit of kitty litter or an old floor mat if you happen to spin around into deep ditches......you could get yourself out? Don't forget that coffe can with t.p. a snack, candle, lighter, and hopefully not a sleeping bag.. best to be prepared...

if we ever wished for a White Christmas, a little was wonderful...and a lottsa  is  nice, but its been coming down since 6 a.m. and now at 2 p.m.   For the moment,    think     that white stuff  has passed???  The commercial personnel have already scooped outdoors three times. Now, as it is the snow removal crews must be on overtime..I saw them headed out West on LaPorte to the foothills  doin  a  one   lane  attempt pushing the slush into the parked cars in our business area!

Slippin around the corners at a 125 degree  seems common and a bit of fishtailing goin on !  the  beer man blew his horn, cause I bet he couldn't  stop and slid  right on thru our four lane intersection that is really blurry now.

....so  we gotta record number of bloggers  online huh?   over 3000   Isn't it nice to be able to stay indoors and enjoy Mother Nature from your window sills?

tomorrow there will be a zillion snowforts and snowmen cause this last snowfall is wet and heavy..Drive safe ! Tell the new drivers to drive like their lives depended on it.  Better to get there late  than not at all.......

At 2 a.m. I woke to the scraping sounds of the snowplows manning our College Avenue emergency snow routes, judging by the steady snow the small Walnut street hasn't been plowed, so neighbors man your shovels.

Attention:  DIA  travelors!!     this could put a damper on Holiday travel since its the day before Thanksgiving festivities.  We'll soon see how many stranded flyers end up at the terminal ....

Observing an elderly gentlemen in shorts with no Winter cap for his short cropped hair style, bent over unsteadily leaning on his cane in an unusual manner brought on by a severe case of kyphosis while carrying a single cellophane bag dropping almost to the sidewalk covered with 2' of snow I watched his unsteady pace taking a few steps this way and trying strongly to maintain his balance, take a few wandering steps with  other  footprints in the snow  - trailed by his crooked path  in the slowly falling snow,  I was almost glad to see that our police department was also parked watching his unsteady pace, wondering if he would fall at any moment, not dressed for this predicted weather.. The single bag seemed to tip him sideways  almost weighing him down,as if he was standing in a heavy West wind. .Standing in front of our Starbucks doorway, an officer approached him: " --you need to get outta the cold???" he stated.... a long conversation elapsed.

Soon, thankfully, quietly due to the wee hours an ambulance and firetruck arrived to whisk him away to warmth for his own protection. What would cause a man to walk in shorts and no Winter cap  in the wee hours ???   So, when our local coffee shop has MILE  HIGH  delivery at the same door in the early morning to stock up on the hot coffee products so popular on   cold days in Oldtown. I say :   "'Thank you FC p.d." for being on the look-out!  Today we can be thankful our police are looking for the safety of  those wandering in our early storm.

The roads are covered with 3-4 " of icey snow; a duet  of snowplows continues up and down  #287. ..on an hourly basis.. I am glad to see the smaller snow removal equipment equipped with its  roller brushes clearing a way  on the crosswalks and front sidewalks so that our  tooo  soon,   handi-capped elderly residents using motorized w/c  will be able to access the crosswalks for their companion puppies - a grey named Blue, a chijuajua, a terrior, and the Beagle named Missy.  Even motorized w/c need to have cleaned sidewalks . Rasta Pasta isn't so lucky and have two men shoveling the heavy snow eyeing the quickness of the more modern snow removal equipment owned by the downtown Association.  Bundle up.

On the upside:   a little further down in our Oldtown  our icerink   is open!!!   A young couple was teaching their four and five yr. old boys to 'wobble' on the ice with an upside down wastebasket while learning their balance.. Wished I had a digital camera to capture that moment in time.

Lets hope DIA isn't getting snowed under at this writing! May air travel run smoothly. I could  barely see the close mountain foothills from my upper window all day due to the thin, dim white froggy penetration that is a sure sign this snow will follow!  It's time to decorate the tree.

Raking yards, pulling up flowers, planting bulbs, trimming trees as a preventative   from ice storm breakage...

So our weather is holding, despite the  great rush of wind from the powers that be on our

not so great Bronco    L O S S.  Personally, I think they deserve a wake-up call such as

that embarrassing loss...along with the black out !!!  The powers that be couldn't have

predicted for all fans to bring a flash light!

Its not  Halloween yet, either! But great Fall weather.....   wuttta   wind !

All the publicity, countering  who did what with what kinda pot and whether or not the test was legal???  Well, national  news now.

I am strictly aginst   any    drug  abuse!... pot ...   legal or not   is lethal  to a persons ability   to  think  clearly, work enthusiastically, or play   football...a   crushing loss!

Wutta  false sense of  giggles, feeling good,   overconfidence??... so then what?

The Broncos  have taken  a personal beating this year

with  not  such a great example  to our young upcoming   wuuud   be  football players?

WHAT A BAD

example to our athletic high-schoolers who must tow the mark of not drinking, no drugs, etc.      Yes, we know   Take another toke, and explore whether alcohol or pot is safer?

Denver has a different light on the matter, we know,  but  wutta   blow.

I  think the best team won and  I am grateful to the powers that be.

In memory of  one Bronco cut down in his glory...

I, for one, was totally amazed at the size of this watery hole in Puno, Peru as people there are baffled by a crater this size!

We are putting things into space and I have no idear  how 'they' [we]  take care of the space garbage, but when the Earth gets hit with a hole this size ...well, makes you glad it didn't land in a populated area: As in a city or your  own house. Its easy to look the other way when its not HERE!

Perhaps the last bit of our meteor shower, or perhaps if you got a big imagination:  a crashed spacecraft, the UFO kind?

Bringing things in and out of our natural God-given Earths orbit, must upset the natural gravitational, it seems to me...I'm not Einstein, but our depleting ozone layer..sposed to be our own doing? plus  scientific rates of speed and bringing into our ' breathing layer ' of good ole' Earth:  unscientific things. For a while I have been wondering what effect/affect that our goin back n' forth to the space station is doin to upset this natural orbit of things!

We are also sending strange cameras far away to other planets, galaxies, so perhaps they're gettin even!

Seems to me like it would affect/effect the 'unknown' virus-type illness doctors seem to be unable to fix. People gettin sick and the doctor says: "we cannot give ya an antibiotic, cause it may make you worse????" So I laid in bed for three weeks with a major case of the trots, for lack of a beetter word... Well, so suffer it out people. BART. The doc says:  Broccoli  Applesauce Rice &  Toast. O>K>

A worse thought is these kinda 'meteor crashes  could be plummeting to Earth, landing in the oceans and we are unawares? Perhaps causing the surrounding waters to 'overheat' :  here come the whales to the beaches, and we don't know why...things gotta a little hot maybe? Or a bad chemical dump? Man will bring upon himself his own destruction if we are not more GREEN in our thinking.

Do we really need to know what is goin on in other galaxies?

goin out to the Westfest today as there is no other way to avoid it cause I live in Oldtown24-7. At ten ish   last night a hard, fast rain came to put a damper on things, soaking people to the bone - why in Colorado, do you not carry an umbrella?  There is all kinds pocket size ones! It is fun to watch who runs in the rain, like they can get away from it. Some gentleman were actually taking off their shirts to 'protect' their ladies!

No baby blankets on the strollers! - this didn't happen when I went to school? Boyscouts are always 'prepared'..must not have no boyscounts in their families?

.sounds like enuff advertising didn't get done for the two parking garages  These are ALWAYS  free on Sundays...located on Mason and LaPorte...also the one at Remington and Mountain corner close to Los Amigos or whomever wishes to watch/listen to bands cause there are three...That leaves seven stories of free parking for those unfamiliar with Oldtown.

The Operetta Galeria offers an indoor respites, complete with covered clear dome to get outta the weather, whatever it is...There is  along with Pickles, a luxurious beauty shop, complete with back entry/exit to the parking garage on Mason!

The petting zoo at the local library along the food/nik-nak/numerous art and food booths is a hit today. Finally,  Sunny after the  short rain  only cooling things down a bit to evaporate steaming off the sidewalk when the Sun came back in full protest. I am glad the 'weather' here is goin back to quick, afternoon rains, as it was when I came in 200-01 to this area... rising over those steep, Rockies, the foothills, leaving quickly, leaving  the air with a fresh smell ...

Your Foxs' booth is quite a hit with the wee ones? Hope we see some of them on the commercials? Also saw the heli-copter over the intersections of Los Logos set-up..to begin at 6 p.m. I can tell you at dark the streets will be packed...!!---.right after the rain with a few people scattering...a few more waiting out the rain...burst.

looking out my window it was raining nicely, the bookstore across the street: Als' News has the famous Harry Potter in their window for a special price of $28.00...so I just had to get some cash out for it....the rains lasting and lasting even with my umbrella and people ducking in the doorways of stores, children in our lobby waiting for the downpour to stop...one hour later it is still raining...I may tell you my sandals were soon wet and water flooded up to my ankles in places where the sewers are catching the worst of it....rain in 3 " depths pouring down in waves on the concrete, cleaning the air and washing the sidewalks...Ft. Collins restaurants in Oldtown serve their customers with many  outdoor patios like Old Chicago and the new Drunken Monkey patio with a family safely outta the rain, enjoying their meal - many outdoor umbrellas for the customer   at Austins, Perkins, Beau Jos' and more...everyone running caught without umbrellas...soaked to the skin! A bit of roaring thunder overhead assured me it won't soon be finished.

Thank you Lord for the most beautiful rain we needed!

On the way back downhill as i scurry along, many of these business doors  in Oldtown are open to catch the chilling, fresh breeze..... seeing a large gathering of artists - like Friday first night art galleries are open to the public  - except its Thursday - whoops - I put down my drenched umbrella, crashed into the crowd of well dressed people...saying: excuse me,  Beautiful scenery, well-done, detailed artworks, with droves of persons for their opening, ' a private party  'she said,....see the new paintings...so I walked into the crowd, soaking wet, admiring the sculptures of Ruth Bell Skogerboe...Rebecca McClive at rebeccaz42@aol.com

BARBARA MOORE CREATING "lASTING iMPRESSIONS OF rOCKY mOUNTAIN cOUNTRY"... Kate Dardine at ..also  Barbara  McCullochS'   oils and watercolor    - someone telling me well, gee whiz, "it was a private opening, but she wouldn't tell..."obviously   I wasn't dressed for the part, but did get a delicious hard lemon drink...[.AND A SNEAK INTO THEIR NEW ARTISTS...CREATIONS...]...MUSTN'T TAKE THE lemon drink outdoors, drinking with a thirst   unwittingly &  unknowingly that it was actually a licquor' ! Splendid, no wonder it packed such a punch! Such amazing works created in part of oil, those copies of the real thing, and the most grilling scenery brought to life.

the thunder shakes our building with majestic power of our almighty  Universe. . . we give thanks for our much needed moisture...flash floods are NOW definately possible, cause I have walked in the downpour much to my delight.

Listening to the BBsystem at PRI  in the wee hrs. you kinda appreciate when you know we here in the U.S. of A.  are not suffering from the heat that affects the elderly, the working people so a time frame of quitting major work at 11 a.m. for a siesta is in order. What? Well, that is what the lady said.

Public bathing is offering reduced prices, don't that make ya appreciate our U.S. OF A.

free beer was suggested but put down to the lack of poor  business ethics/reasons.

A hot spell is affecting them, as well as the  Thames rivers is in  floood watch  somewhere in Britian, overpowering the sewer system causing flooding, well, guess our mini mudslids will do for disasters for us.

I especially like the 'interviews' that come on in such wee hours so one knows how the East perceives us :   As The West...an interview with a 'foreigner' to us tried to explain to the 'world listening audience' how the muslim religion perceives us as not worshiping four to five times per day, etc, being wrong, along with  the rage that has an affect/ effect on the suicide bombers (?)  who have  a particular vendetta as an excuse to blow themselves into on What outrage! , I believe this interview came from Pakistan...an ex college student into nonexistence? Never will understand that one, I think they must be brainwashed, to live so short a life, with such hatred. ....this interviewed person claimed to have been in the U.S. of A., as a college student, an ex (?) banker with Bank of America. At any rate he  portrays the East and West , for example ,as having quite a different view of terrorism. .each with their particular excuses in the nuclear battle.....more details later.

You know sometimes i listen to make sure no one has actually deployed one of those nuclear weapons everyone is fighting against. .. with the heat waves, I wonder if some   effect is already happening from our lesser weapons fired in our bible countries.

Didn't radio used to be the only way we got world news?......thinking of WWII days of which I am a product......I wish we would get news that the tribes  of  all these   East -West Wars along with the hatred that follows  were over...and all these thousands of troops, his troops on the borders of Pakistan and our troops on the borders of Baghdad,  along with   too many   other strategic places now close to China, were OVER!!!

Praying all the different people of the globe,  could all have peace before we blow ourselfs up, burn ourselves out, and flood entire communities into non-existence.  Just to make peace. No wonder the hippies of the sixties with their flower children, and long haired pot-smoking people who came back from Vietnam caused an eruption of pot-smokers just  to  'forget'  what happened there, or for their legally induced pain, as from schrapnel, etc.  who  are now grannies and grampies...with their own children fighting yet, another war in far-a-way places.  How does history repeat itself?

With Wise Leadership some aliens should come from another planet, and say:  'hey you Earthlings are battling each other, instead of having a peaceful existance?'  Do you not foresee what that will do to the planet and to other galaxies?
