Nebraska's drop off law extends to 18 years old.  Brilliant!   So now they have seen  parents dropping off 17 year olds with impunity at the hospital or fire station.

And they're driving a long way to boot.  One mother from Detroit, another from the Atlanta area.  One father dropped his entire family off.

Of course they'll reduce the age limit because in the lawmakers infinite wisdom they have miscalculated the  parents resolve in "raising" their children.

I do wonder though.....what do you suppose the parent(s) are saying to missy and junior in the car as they make the long car trek to:  Lincoln, Omaha, Grand Island, etc.?

How do they trick them into going, and STAYING at the Hospital and fire station?  Final goodbye's?  Good Riddance?  CYA!  I told You So?  You should have listened?

and I think of all the parents who want children so bad but cant because of different reasons. Or the parents who lose their child to illness. Or parents of handicap children who love their child as much as the parent with healthy children. .

What in hell is this workld coming too?

This is where were going people. And it about to get worse.

There needs to be a law that has standards of who can and cannot be a parent. Why is it the ones that don't need to be parents keep poppin them out while others sturggle? Don't understand, just don't!!

I used to work in the Juvenile justice system in Nebraska. I can tell you that the law is the result of "do-gooders," "super-social workers," and/or recovering addicts/alcoholics who have inherited positions of power within the system getting a personal audience with state senators!

The conversation goes something like this - "I know exactly how the law should be written, so my staff and I will write up the bill, and all you have to do is sponsor it!"

I saw it first-hand, and now we're seeing what can happen when blind power falls into the wrong hands; and what would happen if bureaucratic social workers try to govern!

Not sure how long we can go on like this. I think that once our country doesn't support Israel anymore, we are done for. I'm just waiting for our sinful nation to turn that last corner.

Now there's a reasonable connection, they're dropping off their kids because the country doesn't support Israel, of which the U.S. still does.....but, nevermind.

The dumbing of America continues.

It's all relevant, but as it is with most Obama supporters thay look at things from a me-me-me perspective and fail to see the bigger picture. I'm certain that most Obamanites could be blinded in both eyes from a single stab from a needle . . . Oh wait, most of them are already blind (to truth, honesty, integrity, reality . . .)

LOL mpvan...

Exactly. Most of our problems are BECAUSE WE DO support Israel, and get nothing in return except car bombs and jets crashing into our buildings.

Israel has a very powerful lobby in Congress, one of the most powerful in fact. What do we get in return from them for all this military hardware and money?

We sell them tanks so they can shoot kids throwing rocks at them?

And why do we care anyway? Let them continue to kill each other over religion as they have for thousands of years. I'm gonna sit back and have a beer.

As for this nebraska thing, what a joke.

Can I drop my parents off there too when they get old? Cause I'm not changing adult diapers that's for sure.

I can. Suppose you have a child that is out of control and you can not beat the devil out of them but have to keep paying for all their thefts and breaking other peoples property. You can not disapline that child because if you do you go to jail. The school teaches them not to listen to parents, hide facts from parents and rebel. Some parents are not good at grabbing that child and getting in their faces before they go wild and telling them, you think it is bad here? Well let me tell you buster, it is going to get alot worse and I do not mind the jail time in getting it there. DO YOU UNDERSTAND ME? Or should I call 911 and have them pick me up over your body? I never had to spank my children, they lived in fear of what I might do, but they also knew when they did good I rewarded them. When they did bad, and they did, we had a come to Jesus meeting that put the fear of God in them. I was the single mother of 5 for years so i had to be tough to keep my kids out of a mess. It worked.

Then you have parents who grew up in this world thinking some one else owes them and they had children and found out they may have to give to some one else and they don't like that so they want out and low and behold they have a means. Usually it is grandparents but now they have a State. Thus you have the main reasons people do what they do. But there is those who are just plain mean but those children rarely survive to make it to a safe place.

But what do you suppose they say to Missy and Junior as they make the trek? A lot of time to talk and rethink the whole thing on the part of the parent.

And once they get there....do they say why don't you go in an ask for a band aid...and drive off?

I'd tell them we were going to a really cool mall up there on a shopping spree, but would drive to the hospital, fake a heart problem, have them run inside to go get some help, THEN drive off. :) I have it all planned out.

I personally believe what I read in the books of the Bible. It is prophetic, you know. I always look to see what is happening in Israel and try to figure out where we are according to the timeline. Everything in the Bible is centered around Israel. Our country has strayed so far away from course, and turning on Israel in my opinion will be an indicator that we have turned the last corner. I don't want this to happen, but I don't think Obama will support Israel if he is elected, especially after the videotape LA Times obtained of a 2003 banquet where then-state Sen. Barack Obama spoke of his friendship with Rashid Khalidi.
