After watching his defensive secondary, I think the Chiefs would have a chance against these guys.  The Vikes have no offense, can't run  and Tarvaris Jackson looks like Jamarcus Russel trying to his a receiver-------not even close.

Down 16-14 and Allen forces a fumble.  All they need is a FG on a short field to lead.  Can't do it.  Punt.  The run defense is stellar but McNabb, not a GREAT QB, hit the short ones all night long.  Replays show their DB's playing so soft on the WR's that they could pass and complete anytime they wanted to.  The Chiefs would do the same.

Such a glaring hole with no adjustments in a playoff game.

Allen, you picked the wrong team, but did make a playoff game.  Other former Chiefs players names heard on TV in the playoffs,  Benny Sapp, Vonnie Holliday.  Hmmmmm, defenders no less.

For both sides.   The Buffalo QB couldn't hit a wide open receiver on 3rd and one.  Kawika Mitchell, rather than tackle Thigpen in the endzone for a 2 pt safety, pushed him out of the way.

The chiefs, well they were the chiefs.

Chiefs not the Titans.......5 years ago to this day, they were 9-0.    Those were the days of Trent Green, Tony  Gonzalez, Priest Holmes, Willie Roaf, Brian Waters, John Tait, Dick Vermeil, Casey Weigman, Will Shields.  Of course with that offensive line, they could run over anyone and offer up pass protection to pass all day.....without killing 2 QB's a day.

They were selling the stadium out then as they are today.   They didn't look like empty seats come game day!

Seems like they're stuck in reverse ever since then.

Shottenheimer, whoever he broadcasts for, predicted a Chiefs loss because of  no QB and no run defense.

The KCStar got it right, the highlight of the game was the flyover.

Jack Harry, NBC, outright called the Chiefs liars on Huard's "injury."    It took them way past the half to think of something to tell the rest of the media.

Herm panicked by taking Huard out.  He concluded they needed someone, anyone, who could try to outrun the pass rush.  3 QB's in the 1st quarter signifies panic mode.

If you don't have a QB by the 2nd game of the season, what is training camp, the draft, and preseason for?  Finding your QB off your neighbors, (Minn.) practice squad, shows how much in disarray the organization is.   The five year (20yr) plan is on target because of this.

LJ wants out because there's no offensive line and he's largely a straight up runner.  Croyle will eventually return, but any of those hits the other QB's took will surely make for a short return before the brittle one breaks again.

Jamarcus Russel  6'6" 230lbs=durability.  Passing ability needs a bit of work though.

I lost $5 because I thought Huard would play the whole game!

At least it wasn't the price of a ticket, $22.00 to park the car, and $8.00/a beer!  I don't think traffic would have been a problem because the stadium sure did clear out by mid 3rd qtr.

Jason Whitlock, columnist for the Star in an open letter to Belichick, this past Fri or Sat, suggested he rest Brady for the first exhibition against the Chiefs because he might get hurt.

A cnnsi sports writer predicted the same thing, that this would be the first year they would have to do some games without #12 because of the suspect OL.

Either way, he got hurt because he didn't drop back far enough on the pass, a result of not playing any pre-season games.

But it was prophetic that at least two columnist saw the flaw in the armor, and the head coach did not.

Win or lose, did anyone notice the fan support?  This should send out shock waves to the Chiefs front office.   Most of the spectators are disguised as empty seats.

Thursday night isn't Sunday, granted.  But it's been a long time, maybe 1975 since I've watched a TV game with such an empty stadium---in the second quarter.  That's even before they quit selling beer.    Even if it is $8.00 or so beer.

Or maybe it's the $22.00 parking fee they're so proud of.

Yo, Carl, anybody home?

As theorized at the beginning of the season, in spite of their 6-2 first place start, the Royals, by virtue of BEING a major league team, will win 33%-38% of their games, just by showing up and winning games by accident.   It took a while but the only team worse than they are is the Seattle bunch at 24 wins.    The scoreboard looks awesome and can't wait for the hyped prices for the Cards, Yanks, and Red Sox.   No free tics for any of those!

To last place.

What a scare that was at the beginning of the season when they swept Detroit and went 3-0, then 6-2.    The magic of the powder blue George Brett, Frank White, era uniforms was a genius of marketing but only lasted about 10 games.

At 9-13 and a .409 winning percentage, they are still overachievers of their predicted .385 winning percentage and their benchmark success threshold of 100 losses per season.

The 4 win Chiefs against the 3 win Jets, Herm's old team.  Just like in Detroit, some bad team has got to win.  If Croyle wasn't exposed to the coaches yesterday for what he really is, he never will be.  The knock in the preseason was that he always came up with the turnover at just the wrong time.  Nice pick for the TD, and topped it off with a low block for a personal foul at the kickoff.  Another well planned game by the Chiefs, no third QB. With Croyle's durability and their offensive line they should consider carrying 4 or 5 QB's!

Sure were a lot of people dressed up as empty seats at the stadium Sunday.

The Chiefs so far this year:

Third kicker this year, Third (and best) starting running back, Fourth and 1--can't quite decide to tie or go for it and burn two timeouts in the process, Youth movement and a 43 yr old, short kick off man to show for it.   An offensive, offensive line.  A quarterback who won the job sitting on the bench during the season, after failing to win it in playing extensively in pre-season, no victories, yet.
Laurence Tynes......18 of 21 field goals so far for the Giants.
Offense--2nd to last in the NFL (Atlanta last) in points scored.
Playoffs this year.....or next?

Perhaps the cold weather will chill L.T., Antonio Gates, and the rest of the Chargers.

Rayner misses 2 field goals worth 6 points and his team loses by 3.  Wonder if "run on 2nd and 20" Edwards will notice.  How many losses  can  the Giants  hang on Tynes?  Medlock seemed to lose his job after failing to bring them to a tie in Houston.

A pair of fresh legs pushing a grumpy (cash laden, me only) running back.  Wonder if the OL will block a little harder for #31.   He was activated against a team who are weak against the run so he should have a good showing, hope he scores a touchdown, if he does, he will equal the other guy's total for the year!

This being posted BEFORE the game, I wonder if Solari and the others realize that their strength is in their passing.  LJ may be an expensive decoy, but with the OL they have, that may be his role for a while---until the other teams figure out that this years #1 draft choice can take the team up the field quicker than the PennState #1 draft choice of a few years ago.

What in the world is this Robot junk doing clogging the Sports Blog arena?  As soon as the KC Star posts results about the Robot league (that doesn't exist) in the Sports section, then it can be considered sports.
