Retired Judge Leonard Townsend today was subing for another Circuit Court Judge and handling the arrainment of Kwame Kilpatrick and Christine Beaty.

Everyone in the courtroom expected the arraignment to be uneventful with a not guilty plea and a bond to be set. Instead Judge Townsend decided to change the bond rulings of 2 other Judges and told Kwame Kilpatrick he could travel anywhere he pleased.

Townsend made it clear that special rights not givin to the average person must be givin to Kilpatrick because he is the Mayor of Detroit.

Assistant Prosecutor Lisa Lindsey did a great job explaining why this sudden act was wrong, but Judge Townsend made it quite clear of his agenda and that the law didnt matter.

Judge Townsend warned the Prosecutor she was losing her composure and all I could think was the Judge was losing his mind.

I DON'T KNOW ABOUT YOU GUYS BUT I CLEARLY SEE THEIR EXIST TWO DIFFERENT LAWS. ONE FOR THE RICH: LADY JUSTICE CAN BE SWAYED IF YOU CAN PAY!!!!!!! WHAT A SAD SAD DAY WHEN YOU CAN LIE, CHEAT, GREASE PALMS AND STILL WALK AWAY!!!

THE SECOND LAW IS WHEN THE POOR ARE ARRESTED AND THEIR PROBATION THEY VIOLATE. NO EXCUSES THEY ARE PUT BEHIND THE IRON GATES. IF YOUR CASE ISN'T HIGH PROFILE, ANY REQUEST RESULTS IN DENILE.....

Sounds like he was trying to grab some of the limelight for himself. I had to laugh, he said it was important for KK to go to the convention then later on yesterday Obama`s camp said KK wasn`t welcome. lol Judge must of felt like an idiot then. :O)

I COULD UNDERSTAND IT IF THE KWAME'S LEGAL TEAM BROUGHT IT UP,THE JUDGE WAS A BETTER LAWYER FOR KWAME THAN THE ONES HE'S PAYING FOR

JUDGE TOWNSEND WAS A VERY DISAPPOINTING JUDGE TODAY. I WAS REALLY APPALLED BY HIM TAKING OVER THE LAWYERS JOB. HE MADE THEIR DAY QUITE EASY. DID HE GET HIS SHARE OF THE LAWYER'S FEE. I HAD A GOOD DAY HOWEVER 30 MINUTES LATER WHEN JUDGE GILES SAID "PUT THAT DAMN TETHER BACK ON YOUR ANKLE, AND YOUR AZZ BETTER NOT LEAVE THIS CITY :O) LOL

THE JUDGE LOST HIS MIND AND THE SIMPLE JACK --- THAT CALLED HIM TO SIT ON THE BENCH THAT DAY SHOULD LOSE HIS OR HER JOB THIS WAS A I DON'T WANT NO PART OF THIS SO LETS GET SOMEONE WHO HAS NOTHING TO LOOSE.

Im a Emergency Medical Technician and in the last year I worked to pass a law to make it mandatory for all ambulances in the State of Michigan to carry Heart Defibrillators!!! In 2005 only around 20% of private ambulances carried them!!! Because I passed the law several organizations have me on a job black list and will not hire me!!! It doesnt matter because I recently became an EMT to save lives and by having Defibrillators on all ambulances many lives will be saved!!! In my spare time I also collect unusual antique stuff and I have a large Faygo collection dating back to 1921!!!
