I have heard a lot of talk about carbon dioxide lately, and all of the harm that excessive amounts are doing to our planet. If this gas is becoming such a danger, what can be done to reduce it?
In order to understand the answer,we must first understand the problems, and yes,I said problems,as in more then one.The most recognizable problem is human relience on fossil fuels,so let`s deal with that first.
In the last five years, research and developement of alternative fuels have made some astounding progress,like;1)we can now take used vegetable oil, filter it thru five, high quality, filters(the proper kind can be found at restaurant supply stores),mix in a 13-16 oz can of a certian cheamical, following instructions on can(found at race shops, racers should know what to get),and one other chemical(can not remember where to get it),we can have all of the benifits of a diesel engine, without all of the pollution.
Now, some people do not want thier vehicals smelling like french fries, well, between the filtering and that third chemical, that smell is taken care of.Now some may be wondering what good is a diesel when it goes sooo slow, well all I can say is that a 4 cylinder diesel won(for its class)the 24 hour race at La Manz raceway,France;I dont remember if that was this year or not,it`s all in how you gear it.
And best of all,no modification needs to be done to the engine!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
How to provide enough raw materials for both food and fuel?......Simple,quit paying farmers not to farm(at least it is a starting point),beyond that, who knows?????
By utilizing bio-fuels,we can use diesel generators instead of using gas or goal to provide electricity(at a reduced cost to the consumer).
There are also promising advancess for high performance, regular fueled vehicals,so bio-fuels are not just for diesels. So it stands to reason, that if one wishes to stop thier dependance on fossil fuels,bio-fueled diesels are the way to go!!!!!!
The next prblem that needs to be addressed is population;there are just too many humans for this planet to sustian, one answer, let the government and nasa spend billions of dollars and take 50 to 60 years to establish a viable lunar colony,or let a dedicated group of private individuals spend 10 to 15 million dollars to establish a colony that would support 50,000 perminent residents in 5 to 10 years.
Impossable you say, after nearly 16 years of independent research,I know it is doable.
As I siad, there are more problems that need to be addressed, and depending on the responce to this post,I may go into some of the others later. If you want a little more information on my ideas on space expantion and exploration, please see my past blog on this site.
For years now I have heard that man kind is on the verge of extinction,I have come to the conclusion that the main reasons for this is our lack of resources, and space.
There is a sollution, our only hope is to establish a lunar colony,it is time,we have the technology,we have the expirience, what we lack is the courage and the will.
Ever since I can remember,NASA and the government have said that going back to the moon and establishing a large, full time lunar colony would be too expensive, after 16 years of non accredited(independent) accademic research,I belive that we CAN return and establish a colony of 50,000 people for as little as $5-8 million dollars a year.
If done properly, initial cost to establish the colony should not be more then $10-15 million, and should take no longer then 24 months to complete.I envision that the colony would become self sustaining within 5 years through the sale of any useable rsources mined on the surfice.
I also believe we could also establish a marshin colony within 2-5 years of establishing the lunar colony, for approxamatly the same costs.by utilizing certin bio-fuels,certin industrial equipment that is in current wide-spread use,in both the corprate and private sectors, can be modifide at very little cost and time, for use in a space expantion program.
