The Colorado Avalanche moved to Denver in 1995 from Canada and then got a lot of big-name players. We went to the Stanley Cup Finals in 1996 and 2001, and almost every year the Avs have been in the playoffs. This season is a re-building year and I hope they go to the playoffs again soon and win the Stanley Cup. I hope they win every game this season or at least enough to get them back to the playoffs. I hope we get some big-name players for the team. In the past, it seems like we always played the Detroit Red Wings in the playoffs. Remember the Old Colorado Rockies hockey team that moved to New Jersey and became the Devils? It's fun when the Avs beat the Devils, it's like the new team beating the old team. Remember the championship game that went late into the night against the Florida Panthers? 

I've been a John Elway fan for a long time now. John Elway was a top quarterback in the NFL from 1983 to 1999. John Elway took the Broncos to the Superbowl 5 times. John Elway had the drive down the field against the old Cleveland Browns, and knocked the Browns out of the AFC championship 3 times. John Elway is the "Come-back King" in a big game like a playoff, in my book. John Elway won Superbowl 32 and 33, then retired from the NFL on top. John Elway is in the Hall of Fame and deserves it. Will Jay Cutler take the Broncos back to the Superbowl someday? Jay Cutler is still new, but will be like John Elway in the NFL and will be the best quarterback someday down the road.

I'd like the Colorado Rockies to be in the World Series in 2007 and play the New York Yankees or the Boston Red Sox. My first choice is the Yankees, with Boston being my second choice. I'd like to see the Colorado Rockies be World Series champions in 2007 or one of these days. I've seen the Rockies go up and down and we've built the team for a long time now. When they were an expansion team in 1993, I went to a game at the old Mile High Stadium and I went to a game at the new Coors Field in 1995. Back in 1995, the Colorado Rockies went to the playoffs. Now, Rockies fans are coming back to the game in 2007 because the Rockies are winning and are in the playoffs. 

Back in the day, I went to Jefferson High School. One day, I asked school staff, why we didn't have a school mascot at the games. That's when I became Jefferson High School's first school mascot. I was one of the school's mascots between 1992 and 1994. I made a costume of "St. Jeff" for school spirit. I had fun being a school mascot, and everyone like the mascot and knew who I was. I went to all of the high school games back then, and we cheered on the football team, which was pretty good. We were in the playoffs in 1992 and we pulled an upset in the playoff games, but lost in the finals. I went to the basketball games too, and we had a good team. We were in the playoffs in 1993, until we got knocked out. Also, I was in the homecoming parade, and was asked to ride on the parade float. Me and my best friend rode on the float with a bunch of cheerleaders. BEST DAY EVER!!! I also got a plaque for being "St. Jeff". I donated the costume to the school on 05/05/05 and it was displayed at the front entrance of the school in the trophy case with the plaque. So, if you've ever wondered how Jefferson High School in Edgewater, Colorado got it's mascot, now you know. I graduated from Jefferson High School in 1994. If you ever go to Jefferson High School you can still see the costume. If you ever went to Jefferson High School, I'd like to hear from you.
