When one is laid up and resting as per doctor orders (and for once I had to comply - Holy Cow!) one is presented with The Supreme Challenge. Finding good television.

Consequently, the range of local, state and national events brought to my attention by my beloved FOX newscasters has presented a stunning array of stories just begging for comment.

We come again to the fact I could not sit at the computer comfortably. No means of spouting off.

Well.

I am healing, and have now managed to prop myself up and spew comment on a few doozies that have caught my eye. It's my way of saying I am alive, and I am here, and I have missed you.

Let me lead off with an easy one, 'k? I'm kind of out of practice...

------------------

Nick Hogan: Oh for heaven's sake. Pretty Boy needed a year and a day. The flagrant disregard for law enforcement and the firm belief that the streets of Pinellas were paved as his own private speedway shows him for the arrogant self-centered little brat he is.

And am I the only one that recalls Hulk Hogan receiving the 2007 Father of the Year award? This just begs comment, but I need to hold back.

------------------

Obama: Can this possibly get any worse?

Reverend Jeremiah Wright. How can you have the SAME spiritual advisor for 20 years and (a) know nothing of his views and (b) suddenly feel a need to sincerely seperate alliance? How can you trust anyone who has such sudden alliance shifts???? (Okay, well, where did Oprah go in all this?)

Has anyone not noticed how suspiciously QUIET others (Jessie? Al? Louis?) have been? They usually weigh in by now, year after election year. I am reminded of how quiet a snake can be, lying coiled under the brush....

-------------------

We are a country that occasionally celebrates wins with riots and destruction. We are a country that occasionally punishes perceived injustice with riots.

We are a country sitting on an election year.

We are a country sitting on top of more stress right now that it knows what to do, and I cannot help but wonder....

--------------------

I nominate one Brian Crowder, arsonist - ooops, sorry SUSPECTED arsonist - for the Cr@pweasel Award. The fawn that was born Saturday or Sunday (umbilical cord still a black nub on its belly) was rescued and is being cared for by one of my rehabber friends. Its mother's whereabouts are unknown.

--------------------

It is so refreshing to see how the women are finally showing up to play on Team Pedophile! And here I was thinking the men had sewn this one up on their own! Bad girl - I profiled! I hate it when I do dat!

I have never in my life wanted to slap the smile right off someone's face before, but this piece of work called Stephanie Ragusa seems to be riding high right now.

She and Nick would have made a perfect couple from the looks on their faces.

--------------------

The Rays NEED a new stadium? Exactly how old is their current stadium again? And exactly how many wins and titles have they provided our humble state with? Now I can go along with a nice uniform change - look what it did for the Bucs - but come on.....

---------------------

Finally, to the mother of one of the eight young ladies (oh, how I use THAT term loosely!) who beat the snot out of a classmate: How DARE you go on television and complain about how unfair it is you get phone calls at home threatening your precious little darling.... You hypocrite. Where were you when YOUR DAUGHTER was doing the same thing to the victim?

Karma bites honey. And yes, to all those who are aware of my Christian beliefs, I ALSO believe in Karma...

---------------------

Thank you all. I feel better for having let a little steam off.

Floyd - I'm getting there. Thank you.
Michelle - Hoping truly all the best for you.
Yellowdog - I hope your Southern Gentleman self is behaving!
Jumpy - Had to check fast and saw baby picture - Congratulations and how lovely! Please respond here and let me know how you and baby are? (I am still limited how long I can be up... this way I can peek right here!)

I am going to go lie down again and ponder life.

I'm just half back. I'm lame, but I am expecting to make a full recovery and be witty again.....some day soon.

Whatever is ailing you, sounds like surgery, I hope that you have a speedy recovery.

Jumpy, they grow up so fast. You will blink your eyes and she'll be off to college, enjoy your time and have fun!

We have missed you GREATLY.

For you and sweet Michelle to return is SPLENDID!

Freak left for a week but missed the abuse SOOOOOO much he came slinking back for some more.

BM (you may have missed him) got really carried away with his RWNJ spewing and our FOX pal Chris banned him forever...too bad since he has some funny things to say at times.

Sophie is beautiful and Jumpy is the paragon of good sense.

The caveman supposedly wants "spirited and intelligent" discussion but refuses to allow anyone to comment on his blogs (as if anyone really wanted to anyway).

I'm REALLY overjoyed that you and michelle (and our pal welshaff) are doing better.

Writing and being with you blog pals is good therapy.

Keep it coming girl.

With every best wish for a full and complete recovery TB. Oh BTW, it is true the "cave man" is now foraging on his own and YD (as if anyone cared) has just provided the reason. lol

It seems the only method to engage in a discourse with our pal, Thal, is to ruffle his whiskers a bit.

We DO CARE, that's the point.

When you tire of your exile, phone home.

Welcome back. Venting steam is good for any recovery effort! Keep on venting!*smile*

When I vent you call me a grumpy, old pinko commie left wing Chavez hugging piece of slime (or something like that).

Not that i need to recover from anything other than RWNJ abuse.

Write often and let us know how the pub grub is.

I haven't been spending as much time here as usual, so please excuse my belated welcome back TB. Your omnibus screed resonated with me as well.

Heal quickly!

(((((((((((((group hugs))))))))))))

Yes. For each and every one of you. My conversations consist mostly of those I have withtheanimals I work with, so human interaction is valued even more -and you are My Group. And dear to me.

Jumpy darlin - I am SO happy for you! Sophie is gorgeous. But didn't we all kinda expect that? She's "our" blog baby. And her mama will post every milestone!

Michelle, seems you and I are traveling much the same road. The value of humor does go up as the path goes down, doesn't it? Yes, surgery. When coupled with the lupus, well, it can make for a dicey situation, but it would have beeneven more dicey NOT to have pursued surgery. I hesiated returning to "fulltime" blogging as the effect certain RX medications can have can lend to unfortunate choice of words - hehehehe Thou shalt not blog under the influence! I look forward to speaking with you further (cough - Floyd??????)

FTP - Thank you for the recommendation. I have actuallyhad a chance tocheck it out and while I had written off the show as a cartoon, do they do tap dance right into some hot issues don't they? Your recommendation is appreciated. :-)

Yellowdog!!!!!!!!! Southern gents are simply irresistable. (okay...I haven't flirted in awhile, so I am terribly rusty!) While I have not posted the last few days, I HAVE been reading. You have been a salvation. Consistancy is thy name.

Well hello Neanderthal! And thank you ... It has been a booger of a time but I will make it through. I have had fabulous care, the best doctors, and am actually feeling far better

than I did pre-op. (Stay in the group..don't forage too far! If everyone in the group thought alike it wouldn't be so much fun, now would it????)

Good morning mustang! I do not believe we have "met" yet but am so very pleased to meet you - Am I seeing a Bucs shirt on you? YAY! Good man. :-) (He likes football guys... he's a keeper!) Yes, venting was necessary. I can't decide if the news is getting worse or I am becoming more aware. Thank God for blogs.

(YD, how do you end up so misunderstood???? I cannot possibly be the only one that sees the heart behind it all!)

I kinda of do, Jumpy - I have two websites I run and each myspace is a reflection of "characters" from those sites. Katie Scarlett and Clover.

CrankyMan! I am honored you stopped in...and thank youkindly. I do hope whatever iskeeping you busy is a positive!

------------------

Today's Vent:

The Federal Government is being sued because the US Currency system discriminates against the blind????????????????????????????????

Those of you who know me know I do not swear. But let me tell you, I can cuss up a blue streak and make a sailor blush when the cause arises - and when I heard that one, I did. I may have violated 3 of the 10 commandments too (still counting). [starts to hang head in in shame - then snaps backup] Nope. I stand by my response.

o.O

Love you guys!

We have watched Good Day Tampa Bay and Fox News 13 since it became Fox many, many years ago. I've lived on this coast since 1982 but hail from Horse Country, TN. In RL I not only run two websites, but am researching a compilation work for publication (I can disappear for days in my books!) I work with wildlife (naturally Cynthia Smoot is one of my fave journalists!) and I like to participate in the "wildlife" here on the Blogs - a little human interaction is a refreshing change on occasion. However, hiding behind a monitor does not give one license to be rude; personal attacks reveal their maker's own inadequacies and insecurities as a speaker. (Is that the best ya' got???) Thoughts and opinions may differ (thank God for choice as Americans!), but the more reasonable a differing opinion sounds, the more likely the listener is to consider it fairly. Be safe, be fair, be nice - and most importantly, don't run with scissors. They haven't invented downloadable bandaids yet.
