New Port Richey needs rain.

It's been weeks now.  Everything is in bloom.  Dust clogs the air.  None of us can breathe.   Wash the car and an hour later it's got crud all over it.

And yesterday we were veritably TAUNTED by the rolling thunder East of us.  Storms sprang up to the North East.  Storms sprang up to the South East.

But we had another (beautiful) sunny day.

Described by the scientific community in So Long and Thanks for All the Fish (Douglas Adams) as a "Quasi Supernormal Incremental Precipitation Inducer," Rob McKenna is an ordinary lorry driver who can never get away from rain and he has a log-book showing that it has rained on him every day, anywhere that he has ever been to prove it. Arthur suggests that he could show the diary to someone, which Rob does, making the media deem him a 'Rain God' (something which he actually is) for the clouds want to be near him, to love him, to cherish him and to water him. This windfall gives him a lucrative career of not travelling to places for money.

I charge you gentlemen in our mighty Fox Weather Department with finding, and funding, a Rain God.  Give him money to travel around the Bay Area as a new career!

Truthfully, I know you guys in the Weather Department cannot MAKE the rain happen, but just in case one of you HAPPENS to be a Rain God (I cannot fail to observe that it DOES rain in Tampa far more than here! LOL) or knows one, PLEASE help!

Ah, for wishful thinking....

Wow, after that pitiful request for rain I wish I could help you but I'm afraid that at my house we aren't in much better shape. I spend day after day standing beside my road watering my grass so that when the REALLY intellegent [NOT] people throw their LIT cigarettes out on my nice toasty grass it dosn't catch on fire [AGAIN] and burn my whole yard and house to the ground. [The disadvantage of living on a corner with a stop sign.]Some people just don't seem to remember to put brain in head before leaving home. Go figure. If I can figure out a way to produce some rain I'll be sure to send some your way.

Hiya' Janice! :D Thank you - One must beg on occasion if the level of desperation deems it necessary. And the way I figure it, the Fox guys had a shot at making it happen. And....

We got some! We finally got some!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I have been this excited since my honeymoon!

Yay! :D

We have watched Good Day Tampa Bay and Fox News 13 since it became Fox many, many years ago. I've lived on this coast since 1982 but hail from Horse Country, TN. In RL I not only run two websites, but am researching a compilation work for publication (I can disappear for days in my books!) I work with wildlife (naturally Cynthia Smoot is one of my fave journalists!) and I like to participate in the "wildlife" here on the Blogs - a little human interaction is a refreshing change on occasion. However, hiding behind a monitor does not give one license to be rude; personal attacks reveal their maker's own inadequacies and insecurities as a speaker. (Is that the best ya' got???) Thoughts and opinions may differ (thank God for choice as Americans!), but the more reasonable a differing opinion sounds, the more likely the listener is to consider it fairly. Be safe, be fair, be nice - and most importantly, don't run with scissors. They haven't invented downloadable bandaids yet.
