I have been so frustrated by the sheer volume of hate that is propagated about race when we have so much else going on I am actually finding myself distracted.   Which is likely exactly what the goal was in the first place, so I have fed right into it.

Pray for your enemies we are taught.  For me, and this is just my own personal thing, an enemy can be described as any individual or group that causes fear and encourages hate.

So when it is a group, do you pray for their leaders or for the group as a whole?

I get confused about this because we are supposed to pray in specifics.

I hope this makes some iota of sense.  But I need to find some peace for myself with this sooner rather than later...

Many people struggle with this, don't feel alone. My church works with an approach which encompasses the entire area of the affliction at hand. That means PRAY FOR BOTH.

Think of it as a chain of command. Then break it down from top to bottom. A good way to start would be:

1) The leaders - wisdom, understanding, coomunication, etc.
2) Their Military - how they utilize their energy (in a positive manner).
3) The people of the countries involved - strenghth, relief from oppression, etc.
4) The children - that they will not suffer.
5) Surrounding areas - strength in dealing with them, a united prescence.

You can adapt to wherever the spirit may lead you. Some churches include this as a "Corporate Prayer" measure and use it monthly, weekly or 1/4. :+)

Once again you combine logic with spiritual sense. I thank you.

It is so very hard to ignore the hate breeding and seething in the world, and I am so very angry at seeing what it is doing, and what it could end up doing - I am frightened. For me fear always translates to anger.

Being human, I spout. But then I have to sleep. And try all over again.

Thank you PastorD. I'm gonna' try.

Please be sure to pray for yourself as well. The enemy will use fear and anger as a tool to stop us from praying for the people and situations of the world.....

When we go through the emotional pull of fear, anger, resentment, blame complain etc., we must remind ourselves to reel in our minds and take capture of our own thoughts. This is where the true battle is won or lost. When you go to sleep at night pray for peace. Pray for hidden anger and resentment to fall from your mind and body. People forget that the body is hindered from this. A lot of illness comes from anger and resentment.

My friend I will pray this for you as well. :+)

Thank you. Every little bit helps, doesn't it?

We have watched Good Day Tampa Bay and Fox News 13 since it became Fox many, many years ago. I've lived on this coast since 1982 but hail from Horse Country, TN. In RL I not only run two websites, but am researching a compilation work for publication (I can disappear for days in my books!) I work with wildlife (naturally Cynthia Smoot is one of my fave journalists!) and I like to participate in the "wildlife" here on the Blogs - a little human interaction is a refreshing change on occasion. However, hiding behind a monitor does not give one license to be rude; personal attacks reveal their maker's own inadequacies and insecurities as a speaker. (Is that the best ya' got???) Thoughts and opinions may differ (thank God for choice as Americans!), but the more reasonable a differing opinion sounds, the more likely the listener is to consider it fairly. Be safe, be fair, be nice - and most importantly, don't run with scissors. They haven't invented downloadable bandaids yet.
