Don't stop the "shift". Let it happen! AND NO BAIL-OUTS EITHER!!!
Perhaps now is the time to consider eliminating the Federal Reserve too. Seriously! Let's get back to the gold standard unless there's no more gold in the U.S. Treasury any more. Just why our government has to incorporate or authorize any PRIVATE American institution to work with the U.S. Treasury is bewildering. And just why it has been going on for so long makes it even more baffling. But make no mistake, the "Federal Reserve" is no more a part of the U.S. Government than "Federal Express" is.
Frankly, we've all been brainwashed into thinking that the Federal Reserve is somehow part of our government. And if you look a little more closely you might just see that the "Fed" is ultimately responsible in all this economic turmoil too. GET RID OF THEM!
Now, I'm sure you'd be quick to point out that the Federal Reserve chairman is nominated/appointed by the U.S. President. But the President's nomination "powers" are really just smoke and mirrors when you think about it. To see why ask yourself this: just where is the U.S. President actually getting his list of nominees from? The answer is from the Federal Reserve BOARD! It's hardly a choice for anyone to make, let alone any "voter". In fact, this Federal Reserve relationship could be compared to something like "the press" being given special rights to DIRECTLY introduce legislation in Congress. Talk about lobbying! (Wait a minute... I hope I didn't open a can or worms here.)
Now, don't even start me on the IRS. But if you do, then you better first show me the LAW that says ANYONE must file a Federal Income Tax Return. (Hint: there is no law!)

I'm voting Democrat because I believe the government will do a better job of spending my money than I will.
I'm voting Democrat because freedom of speech is fine as long as nobody is offended by it, and that it's heavily censored to protect everyone's feelings and agrees with everyone's particular religious doctrine (or something).
I'm voting Democrat because when we pull out of Iraq/Afghanistan the bad guys there will stop what they're doing because they would then know we're good people. After all, it worked for pre-war England and Adolf Hitler.
I'm voting Democrat because I'm not concerned about the slaughter of millions of people each year so long as we keep all the death row inmates alive.
I'm voting Democrat because making college admissions and hiring decisions based on ANY defined merit is unfair. There MUST be quotas!
I'm voting Democrat because I believe that businesses should not be allowed to make profits for themselves. Frankly, the government is supposed to take money from people who earn it.
I'm voting Democrat because I believe three or four elitist liberals should rewrite the Constitution every so often in order to satisfy a few fringe "kooks" (aka "lobbyists") who could NEVER get their agendas past the voters. Don't you know? It's for our own good!
I'm voting Democrat because I believe that when any terrorists come here that no one should have a gun to shoot them with. And that goes double for CRIMINALS!
I'm voting Democrat because I love the fact that I can now marry whatever I want.
I'm voting Democrat because I believe oil companies' profits of 9% on a gallon of gas are obscene but the government taxing the same gallon of gas at 19% isn't.
I'm voting Democrat since there's obviously no need to preserve our American borders. After all, places like North Korea, China and Cuba to say nothing of Mexico and Canada, SHOULD be allowed to send their citizens to the U.S. so that EVERYONE except actual American citizens can work tax free (and maybe even vote)!
I'm voting Democrat since outdated concepts such as law and order are NOT as important as getting elected and holding power for decades at a time.
I'm voting Democrat since everyone knows that the Republicans are just a bunch of rich people - and I'm jealous since I'm not rich.
I'm voting Democrat since Democrats have given us great programs like Social Security. And since Social Security is working so well and is so well maintained that the Democrats really should be allowed to do whatever they want with it - including letting them tax us AGAIN when/IF we start receiving it. (Thanks Al Gore for your tie breaking vote on that one!)
But most of all, I believe the Democrats when they tell me that the Republicans are responsible for everything that has gone wrong in America - EVERYTHING! Even though the Democrats have had the majority of the governmental power to make their "changes" since at least 1950.
* * * * *
It kind of makes you wonder why anyone would EVER vote Republican (or even Communist!), now doesn't it?

As reported on Monday 1/14/08 regarding dismantling the failed baggage system at DIA:
Rip out the failed baggage system at DIA? All I can ask is why?
Why dismantle a system that has cost tax payers nearly a billion dollars? I think the cost was really closer to 700 million but by the time it's all ripped out you can bet we will all have spent a billion bucks for nothing. It's there now and if some genius wants it out all I can ask is WHY?
It seems to me that people were saying something similar just before the trolley system was dismantled in Denver (yes, there was a trolley even as recently as the 1940's). What a mistake that was to dismantle only to wind up replacing much of it a few decades later as something called "light rail." But at the time buses were cheaper and cars seemed to be the "next wave in transportation." So some genius or group of smart people said we needed to rip out the trolley system so out it went.
Now there's the baggage system at DIA which hardly anyone ever even sees! So unless there is a reason to pull the baggage system out then I say leave it alone. Maybe some other genius will figure out how to repair it or even retro fit it. And for all we know, technology might change and provide the very fix needed to make it all work the same day the last bolt is removed. But if it gets pulled out then some future generation will just have to spend more to put it all back.
So, show me a need or at least show me plans to replace the baggage system already in place and I might agree to pull it out. But if the only reason to pull it out is because a few baggage handlers don't like looking at it then too bad! Leave it alone!!!

So here I am. I signed up just so I could comment on Paris Hilton (6/8/07). I doubt I'll be posting much, if any. Anyway...
Why does this preferential treatment of Paris Hilton surprise anyone? She has MONEY and THAT'S why she gets to go home instead of jail! Plain and simple, if you have money in America you can pretty much do what you like and ONLY worry about how to "pay" for it!
Unless the crime is serious such as murder or rape in which someone is actually hurt or killed you can pretty much do what you want. And even THEN your defense depends on money - just ask OJ Simpson (or Phil Spector, or Robert Blake, or ... just don't ask Martha Stewart)!
(So now where do I categorize it? I can't really think anyone considers Paris Hilton as "entertainment" and definately not "music" so I guess "news" is about the only last category it cold possibly go in.)
